Paid professional work is allowed except a few like the ones you just mentioned. You basically generalised all professional jobs. justwise: |

Dude does it have to be exactly on the list before you understand the work conditions? Students can take paid professional work as long as the work conditions are met and one of the conditions is work 20 hour (not full time). Whether they get hired or not is justwise: 1 Like |

Whether they get hired or not is Yes it has to else you will be making things up, i'm asking you to point out in that list where they specifically mentioned that students can take up professional work for 20hrs a week. And i asked you before to list those professional work that students are allowed to do. |

Point out where paid professional work is not allowed. You can’t take paid professional work or self employed [/quote] You saw the attached roles they cannot take. When UKVI says Work that is not allowed: fill a full-time, permanent vacancy, I am not sure what else that translates to. 'Paid Unprofessional work' justwise: |

Bourne007: Bourne007: What exactly is your argument sef? You seem to be all over the place, and not addressing the point. Are you saying a tier-4 student can legally do the type of job described by Tobexin? If that’s what you are saying, you are wrong sir. That kind of job is Self-Employment, and it flouts the tier-4 visa rules. 2 Likes |

RalphJean: IMO, I believe the confusion is from the word "paid professional" because that could be an accountant, architect, IT specialist or anybody working in a professional capacity. However according to the UKVI guidelines anyone on Tier 4(including Tier 2 general as well) cannot work as a professional sport person, doctors as per the picture above. My understanding is a student can work in any other profession not listed in a professional capacity and working the 20 regular hours |

Actually you can work as a doctor on a tier 4 visa. Just not as a doctor-in-training AKA residency. Most of my colleagues doing MSc are doing locum jobs but under the 20hrs limit. 2 Likes |

I was preparing to go enter London to for Passport/NIN waka, but yesterday the High Commission announced they're closing because of the wuhan virus. Before the panic buying started, I already bought enough bottled water and tissue paper when I heard some Australians were doing it. I have been buying hand gel from amazon for years so I have enough. Over the past week, it's been amazing to see how empty of tissue some stores have been. . Even kitchen rolls and all sorts of wet wipes are out of stock. I can't find pasta in shops. I managed to get a pack of baked beans recently. No handwash liquid soap. Even some drugs are scarce. My friend near London drove to several pharmacies before he could find paracetamol. Thankfully, I have stocked up on paracetamol, vitamin C, multivitamins, and hay fever pills. I'm thankful I'm now driving and don't rely on public transport. Any day now, I'm expecting to be told to stay home and not come to the office. And I believe the situation is going to get worse over the next 1-4 weeks. All I can do is prepare, wait, and hope. 4 Likes |

spacyzuma: Update on my AMEX. The original credit limit was 8k. After about 6 months, it increased to 12k. Then it increased to 15k a week before the 1st full year of use. I've cancelled it cos I can't afford to pay £140 as fees in this covid19 economy. But I really enjoyed using the card. I gained so many points, which I used to get free stuff on amazon. 2 Likes |
