Investor/bussiness people make money from solving problems/ need ....a good business eniviroment is where oppurnties keep arising ....in place like Lagos their are oppurnties everwhere to make money for people that have investment mind set ......with the ban on keke and okada their huge demand for bus transportation...any bustop is filled with stranded fee paying passenger ....while billions are chasing lost making treasury bill at 2.5 percent.....a simple business like a car wash generates 15000 daily in apapa with investment less than 2m car are washed for 1 k per unit ......

Money came from ponzi cheesy

LadyBeee:
Grew my account from 600k to 1.8million from ponzi but i still lost 200k to ponzi recently. Had to rush to the bank to put my funds back in treasury bills so I won't have access to it again because it seems village people have started following me this 2020

i thought Naira is already devauling itself or just the BDCs is hoarding dollar
This is what happens when CBN allows multiple exchange rate inorder to maintain BDCs as legal business entities...if and only if cbn had collapsed the exchange rates into 1 for both open market and interbank, BDCs would not have this effrontery to hoard and increase dollar price at will

Norway, is a country
emmanuelewumi:
Coupled with the crude oil price and market share war between Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Nigeria is in big shit because we are not prepared for this.

Norway with a population of less than 6 million people have over $ 1 Trillion dollars in their Sovereign Wealth Fund, got dividends, interests , capital appreciation etc from the fund to the tune of over $100 billion in 2019.

While Nigeria with a population of over 200 million people has less than $2 billion in our Sovereign Wealth Fund.

Russia and Saudi Arabia have between $300 to $500 billion in their reserves to pursue this crude oil price and market share war and to also defend their currency.

With the recession knocking on the doors of Nigeria again, is it wise to buy dollars from Aboki to resell to them when the value rises?
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by TotoNaRubber: 6:11pm On Mar 13, 2020
How much are they selling in your area?

I've not gone to make enquiries, I'll go tomorrow.

Ofcourse you can buy and resale I don't see any law preventing that. FX increased to over 400 yesterday but today it came down to 375 so you can buy and hope it will increase in future especially with this oil issue cool
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by TotoNaRubber: 8:34pm On Mar 13, 2020
I won't advice you to hoard USD, the rate is dropping already.

There are bank charges for withdrawing USD.
Naira ACC's pay 4 percent in savings acc.
The current scarcity was artificial and government has intervened, things may still change. Look for property to buy if you have spare cash.

Depending on where you live and financial ability, some estate developers offer bungalow at N20m, cost of land included + furnished with kitchen cabinet, doors, lights, GP tank, dedicated transformed for the estate etc. Rental income of N750k per annum.
There may be better offer and income than this.

If I knew, I would have converted all my money to USD and brought it along with me when I relocated to Canada last year. My Tbill matured few days ago and now I don't even know what to do with the money in my account in Stanbic. It is some few M's. Any advice people?

Hahaha. Make una calm down before blood pressure rise. Nigeria went through one of her worse patch in 2015/16, it's just that this Corona virus just came from no where to be distorting things around the world. Brent fell drastically yesterday because Saudi and Russia decided to be doing negative bidding. ( Who e oyel cheap pass). If Nigerian situation gets bad, it will not be in isolation, it will be because the global economy went bad also.
Somehow we now know how China stands in the world economy. They seem like the highest direct and indirect buyers of oil.na wa

Those guys are super-smart. As Saudi and Russia dey mumu demselves, China is just buying up their cheap oil and stockpiling it. This price war wont last more than June. According to a consultant, "it just a bunch of friends wanting to see who can hold their breathe the longest"

2015 was a child's play compared to 2008/2009.

You should be asking how it was navigated in 2008/2009. For me, I lost a Whole lot of money that I still think about up to this moment. I really don't want to remember but I can't help. But I learnt from then on and became a far better investor and positioning myself for the point-and-kill strategy.

For example, I am waiting for GTB and Nestle to get to that point and kill level soon. The world will see another great recession and those who take positions will go for the kill and make more

Live on Channels TV now

MD NNPC just stated as follows

1. 50 cargoes of Nigerias crude oil is stranded without buyers, as at last week
2. Saudi Arabia sold their crude at $22 a barrel yesterday
3. It costs $30 to produce Nigerias crude oil.

We thus in a tail spin economically

At this crucial and delicate investment cycle and always; you will do yourself much good and saved yourself of great financial loss by:
1. Not investing just by hearsay or with others opinion alone without your due diligence
2. Making sure you don’t lack understanding of the investment product you want to venture into
3. Not relying only on past performance of a particular investment window – past performance is no guarantee of future results
4. Don’t follow the crowd. Investment is not by popular opinion, it’s based on facts, figures and economic realities
5. Be realistic
6. Take calculated risk to avoid casualties
7. Beware of get rich quick syndrome – investment is not a destination it’s a journey
8. Think of the safety of funds first before interest, gains or returns.
9. Get a mentor
10. Have your own strategy base on your investment objectives and follow it religiously until you have a better option.

Please what mistakes did you make during the 2008 market crash? We could learn. Thanks

Was not checking the fundamentals. Not checking price earning ratios, debt equity. All because there was no knowledge of these. The worse part was that there was heavy prices manipulations of various equities. Initial public offerings were the order of the day. Most of us didn't know on time to dematerialize the certificates. Before we could do that so we can cash out during the free fall, the stocks have all hit the south.
