Teesside University gave me admission and they sent me a mail saying they've been trying to call me on my phone.

Why are they calling me? Do they want to interview me? What do they want from me again? If its an interview (which I suspect), what kinda things do they ask?

it might be their agent in Nigeria. Is your admission conditional?

I got a call from them about 2 weeks ago. It wasn't interview. They just want to know whether you have any questions for them. In other words, they are just following up with you. No cause for alarm.

Hope yours was unconditional.

I noticed that Teeside & other U.K. unis have been calling applicants to “follow up” lol.

These people are trying to secure the bag within this coronavirus incidence. They don’t want international students changing their minds lol

Sha don’t let them pressure you into accepting their offer.
Take time to decide which is best for you

Once you pay the deposit, getting a refund without a visa refusal is not easy at all. They will keep playing you around and sending all their terms & condition documents to you. It’s not a day’s job

You don’t send transcripts except you’re applying to IVY universities

You just upload them on the application portal

bro shieldfield Hallam is better becauese cost of living is very low! You can work, eat and save.

I don’t know where people do see the philosophy of asking if there is a Job in a particular area or what. What a hell is that! See let me tell you the fact, Uk is not a production State, that is they don’t produce much things but they are service state that’s state which predominantly gets their wealth from rendering of services. It is better to be in a remote village as a first timer in UK than to immediately start up in big cities that will suck u dry. Basically it the same jobs you will be employed to do in big cities is likewise the same job will be given in the small cities with similar pay. So what’s the jerk about the big cities! During the Summer when you wanna do your intern you then can move to the big cities for that period and return afterwards

Nigerians give yourself brain don’t come and spend your millions here and still spend millions on cost of living in big cities and it the same thungyou gonna get in the small cities is what u gonna get in the big cities.

The formula my mentor told me is this

1. Look for schools with high standards in remote part of England which cost of living is very low

2. Look for available booming student jobs in the area and apply

3. Save up money because The cost of living will be very low and you will have enough after paying your bills

4. 3 months to graduation send your CVs to the big companies in the big Cities

5. If employed, pack your load and leave the small village!

You got everything right except from start sending CVs 3 months to your end date.

No no no!
Start sending your updated CV ASAP
Immediately you get in (post enrolment)
Most companies even recruit you a year before.
Don’t wait till you’re almost completing your program.

It is not hearsay or inspiration talk.
I have lived in the U.K. for 7 years and I’m talking from my experience & program mates.

During my bachelors, I was busy playing around during job fairs. 2 of them got hired on spot & this was in second year. One was for one pillow company (can’t remember the name) & the other was for American Express but she got transferred to Madrid after. Yes, they were Nigerians.

Myself got a paid internship on spot during one of the job fairs I attended in my MSc 1st year. I had applied to them initially but got rejected. Saw them on the stand and sold myself.

Although I didn’t accept it later because of the location they wanted me to work at.

It was one of the jobs that I applied for in my 1st semester that I finally did my internship with. During my internship, I started applying again for other jobs because it was just a contract one. Today I’m working with one of the companies I applied to.

Now all my friends that were busy doing side jobs and refused to utilise their opportunities well like eg study abroad, internships , placements etc are all back in Nigeria. It’s just one guy that is here because he got a citizen pregnant & got married. The rest kept waiting for “after graduation”. How many months do you have left? 4 months?

So don’t say forget all these things.
Most companies not 1, recruit a year or 7 months before.
This is to start training , orientation etc.

You just need to update your CV & make it more interesting. The study part, put your expected year of graduation. Emphasise on your skills & keep trying. Don’t let rejection emails discourage you.

Hello guys, i got an admission in Sunderland, London.
I applied there because of 3 reasons
1)the start date is in line with when i want to start(april intake)
2) it was the only university i could find offering the course of choice for my masters program in line with the start date( Msc public health)
3) i have a relative i can stay with in london.
I got a mail from the school that all april programs have been shifted to august due to the recent pandemic.
My questions are as follows
1)since its start date is now close to most schools, i want to withdraw from Sunderland and apply to other schools, i have paid a certain amount already, how soon can i get a refund?.
2) through this page i recently found out that the post study work visa only applies from sept, the main Sunderland campus offers my course on October. Is it possible to switch campus from the same school?.
3)What is the cost of living in Sunderland? And also job opportunities in Sunderland.
Please house i need your advice. Thank you in advance.

Its advisable to wait till this pandemic dies down..
Even the UK is going on Lockdown anytime soon.
Universities are not fully operational..
There's no school that will resume studies fully this April.. so better stick with your previous admission.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by 1neboss: 7:17am On Mar 24, 2020
If i can wait for august then i might as well wait September so i can qualify for the post study work visa,
I wasn't planning on using it but its good to have the option Because no one can tell what the future holds.
I will rather stay alone too thats why i am asking about switching campus and the cost of living in Sunderland

Doesn’t matter mate.
August still got graduate by summer 2021 & you’re still going to get the 2 years whatever.

Plus your deposit it’s usually not refundable except in cases of a visa refusal.

You know you can just google student life in Sunderland & get all this info you’re looking for?

Anyway Sunderland is a small town but 30mins from Newcastle. Most people in Sunderland go to Newcastle for nightlife etc. Plenty Nigerians in Sunderland too because of the nursing courses they offer. Sunderland is also close to Teesside (Middlesbrough)

Cheap town but small

Nothing extravagant
