Cool. However, dont give them the impression that you want to go there and ensure the money reflects in your CAS.

Also, find September admission in cheaper schools such as in BCU, UCB e.t.c.

Personally, I advise you to go for one year September 2020 MSc admission as you are guaranteed PSW visa.
Also, coronavirus virus effects would have gone.

Good luck.

Thanks for your Input.

Forget all these rankings. It does not give the whole picture. They are not reliable at all as it varies with politics involve.

The first and second best university in the world currently according to webometrics is Harvard university and Stanford university respectively.(https://www.webometrics.info/en/world)

However, according to the Times University rankings, University of Oxford and California Institute of Technology are first and second best university.

What does this tell you. It shows the rankings are not reliable and should not be used as yardstick.

There are only three main profile rankings for all UK universities. The first rank are your Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, Imperial, UCL e.t.c Second rank are Manchester, Edinburgh, Newscastle, Birmingham, Leeds e.t.c Third rank are Edinburgh Napier, Teeside, NTU, BCU, MMU e.t.c.

If the first and third rank university school fees are same hence I will advise you to go for first rank. If the fee for the third rank is small, then go for third rank. It does not affect you at all.

What matters most for employment and further study is your competency, skills, knowledge, grades and experience. Also work towards your strength and limit your weakness.

Please bro dont give generalised advice. What is good for Mr A is different from what Mr B will benefit.

Lol. I dont have time for your argument. I am here to guide and my message has been passed across succinctly. So I wont offer you the courtesy to reply you again.

Those that need the information I gave have imbibed it.

@everyone. Rankings are unreliable. If you however, have a thing for ranking, follow the Three UK universities profile principle I gave in my previous comments.

Choose UK universities that suits your competences, finances and goals.

At the end of the day what the goal..... if you are doing a masters and want to get a job then ranking plays little or no part. In america yes, in UK.... don't bother. Apart from the few tops schools . The rest are all in the same bucket when it comes to hustling that job after graduation

I agree with hosey , Instead pick what fits your need

@ hosey, @ phatkings, @ mikerrr, @ LagosismyHome. I'm certain that you guys have succeeded in confusing a set of people. Lolz. I could have been included if I didn't have someone closer to the system. My brother is a course leader in one of the UK universities and without mincing words, he said that these rankings are not all that important. UK standard remains UK standard. For instance, it is indisputable that none of these schools would overlook plagiarism in one's write up except for the ones that their standard is clear for all to see...Admission requirements alone sef.. We know them... cheesy

While I agree that rankings can be unreliable, it can sometimes be used as a guide especially for science based programs since most times international students don't have the opportunity to look around in order to decide on which school has the best facility and meets their academic needs.

Therefore, if you are not studying with the powerful schools, you need not worry about the perception of your potential employer. More so, the UK is meant to be a society free of all forms of discrimination.

In conclusion, carefully assess your circumstances - budget, academic needs, your present grades/qualifications, future plans (returning to naija after study or remaining in the UK) as well as your employability in the UK based on what you want to study - and use these to determine what your choice school should be.

I hope I have made sense sha cool

To the bold I sincerely agree. All that should matter to one is what one wants for him/herself.

I have two friends, Person A, did his masters and PhD in a not top ranking Uni. At the end of the day, he went a different path that would fetch him the most cash. This friend does not even put any Uni attended on his CV despite having a PhD, he simply brags about his competencies and that has gotten him through the door for sometime now.

Person B, did his masters in a top ranking Uni, studied hard to emerge one of the best candidate and got recruited right after he graduated into one of the oil and gas company in Scotland. According to him, the courses he took in Uni, helped him demonstrate his ability to take on the job if he were to be employed & eventually was.

In conclusion, develop your strategy to win, if you care to you can look for experienced people to offer guidance and then you kill to win. Once again pick what Uni fits your need.

Yes most arts and creative courses are not accredited. You can do the research yourself.

Though accreditation of courses influence these rankings but it is another matter that worth being considered separately. Of course, one should not pick a course that isn't accredited even if it is offered by a highly ranked school.

By the way, how are you able to judge the standards of all these schools that you have named?

Seems majority of you are in Business related courses or Science.if you are a graduate from the Arts. You won't find accredited courses in the arts.

Are you now saying that Art Graduates should not apply for a postgraduate program in the UK? When they have skill shortages in the art industry.

As for UK universities ranking I agree with you.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Nobody: 1:31pm On Mar 27, 2020
Aunty how many people here go to study art or music etc?

Of course we were referring to business programs & science.

You guys will be arguing without even reading what the context is all about.

Besides we are talking about rankings at first. It was you & hosey that brought about accreditation.

Let’s not confuse people here please

You're the one confused here you did not even state the courses you were arguing about.

I bought accredition it seems you like arguing. One, Phatkings and Horsey talked about ranking, 2. Phatkings talked about three crown accreditation in business.3. You were the one that made emphasis on not going for a course that is not accredited even when PhatKings and Hosey refused to comment.

Maybe if you had not started arguing you would have stated that its business related courses just like Phatkings and Hosey did.

Finally its not only music that is the art course. We have other media programs that are under the skill shortages.

If you don't know the skills needed in UK are science, medicine and creatives.
