Have just spoken to the guy( richard jacob) now.
I asked him to come share his own side of the story. Though, what he is saying is different.
I think dru23 should just involve Jide (ladipo rep) as the guy claim. I believe dru23 know who he is talking about.
And he said he only owed 4 days ( this week rental )
He said he never owed 60k.
Reason why i asked him to come defend his claim here.

Drivers .....

If the drivers is what is wrong, I don't see anything bad there if you also enter street to make money.

When I had people under me, I could do all the tasks I asked them to do as it will be wrong if I don't know what it takes to complete a task and just be controlling people anyhow just because I was favoured.

We should listen to the drivers side of the story. That arrogant nitwit might just be exaggerating this whole incident.

Can you admit you were most likely wrong about insurance companies in Nigeria, so we can move on to the next topic? At least, let these discussions be coordinated. Thank you sir.

This thread was once one of the wisest on Nairaland; but now, it's asinine.

Who would believe we would be here arguing whether or not insurance in Nigeria works or the insurance companies in Nigeria are scammers?

I long for the old days.

Again you miss my point.. Just because you have insurance does not give you authority to be careless with my property......

I will give another example, last year I got a driver via nairaland. The first day on the job he got into an accident. He called me about the accident and I told him to drop the car at the mechanic to fix ...

My mechanic called me and said looking at the damage the driver is at fault. I told the mechanic to fix the car and not release the car to driver.. Few days later driver called me and ask me if the car is ready or not ..

Few days after calling my mechanic tired ,he finally got the picture that he will no longer be wrking for me. The first day on the job he is already gotten to an accident. Does that show sign of seriousness at all

Ewooo... from lazy drivers cos u said drivers on Nairaland are lazy .
So because of first day accident he is bad ?
What if he doesn't have accident again for d next 3yrs. You shouldn't judge people based on first mistake.

Your morals are indeed higher than the average Nigerian... grin

Every CEO will be sacking employees on every mistake based on ur judgement.

You said your driver damaged your car and defaulted in payments

People sympathized and advised you to insure your car comprehensively

You said insurance companies in Nigeria are scammers

People cleared you on that

You came back again to say that the problem wasn't insurance, but your 60k.

Again just because you have insurance does not give you the authority to be reckless, I have health insurance does that mean I need to carelessly smoke ,drink etc and do things to put my health at high risk...

Am starting to think my moral standards are much higher than the average Nigerian......
Yes u can carelessly smoke, drink as an insured which depends on certain critical T/C.. just as people carelessly drive even when they have their cars been issured.. The health insurance coy ask certain questions on ur drinking, smoking habits, carry out urine, hair, saliva and blood test for traces of nicotine... Age and sum assured is another thing they consider and to an extent update the insurer on lifestyle changes to ensure claim settlement are neither reduced or rejected..

Away from the insurance talk....

Abuja drivers how are you guys coping with the low fare? From my observation few days ago, I noticed that Lagos price is high compared to Abuja price.

Pic 1. A ride I booked for my sister while she was in Abuja.
17km/1000

Pic 2. Still within Abuja, 15km/1000

Pic 3. Lagos trip. 15.5km/1400

Like seriously?!!! Why conclude on a man you haven't even meet or known? Do you by chance know any of his driver before filing this report?

Lets be guilded with things we say.

I concluded because of his reply to luxurydriverng's post of resting at home at this period.

It was a subtle way of urging people to hit the street even at this period.

Did I ask pity from anyone lol... bro dru23 is good come rain or shine.. Now let me set you straight, once I found out that the driver reckless and he was at fault . I decided in mind that I will collect my car from him .. Himself knew that it was over for him. Because I warn him to becareful and not rough up my car ...

So I moved on, two days or so after the accident. I saw his name , number and post looking for car . I had to double check his phone number to make sure it's the same Richard guy ....
After conformation, I decided to warn potential owners out there about him.. If he had not come on nairaland, nobody will know about.. If you do me wrong I will expose you. I will use whatever platform I have to expose anybody...
Have been on these platform for years ,nobody will come out and say I 419 or scam them. I set high moral standard and nobody questions honesty ..

Keep in mind I shipped about 10 cars for a client in Abuja. I never met the guy before, but he contacted me via my nairaland . Till today have not met the guy face to face. But he took a chance and he saw that am a man with morals ... so old boy dru23 is fine....

USA Castrol will be out this coming week and coolant.. So pass on the message.. Money has to be made either rain or shine... we keep pushing......

God's knows how long you been doing Uber.. But still you dont own car .. Most of you fail to plan ahead, some of you guys were giving opportunity to own cars ..
But greed and self entitlement as kept you in the same post that you are currently in now .. You fail to think ahead and plan . You fail to take responsibility for your actions, it is not my fault mentality etc .. And this is why you still looking for a car till now .. May God not suffer me for chicken change, so said am shifting ground ? For what how much naira ?...

Until you realize that what is wrong is wrong and what is right is right.. You still be in that same position you are in.. I am not cursing you at all am just letting you know the fact .......

Dru23 will never shift ground for nobody.. Nobody on nairaland has ever come out to say I did them wrong or I stole their money ...watch your boy when you mention my name...
