Yeah! Mine was during Waec submission era. The major delay came when my school is to verify my certificate. Like, it took both Wes and my Sch months. Thou, I also had delay during Waec also but the verification of my certificates was the major delay.

It's alright. My inference from this is to follow up closely with my institution the moment WES request for the verification. And that's exactly what I've done. My evaluation will be completed towards the end of next month.

Thanks

*Coronavirus: Apply For Work Visas - USA Begs Medical Professionals Everywhere*

The United States is begging medical professionals all over the world to come to the US to help fight COVID-19 pandemic.

We encourage medical professionals seeking work in the U.S. on a work or exchange visitor visa (H or J), particularly those working on #COVID19 issues, to contact the nearest U.S. Embassy/ Consulate for a visa appointment.

https://twitter.com/TravelGov/status/1243335697202851843?s=20

Update on H and J Visas for Medical Professionals

We encourage medical professionals seeking to work in the United States on a work or exchange visitor, particularly those working to treat or mitigate the effects of COVID-19, to reach out to the nearest embassy or consulate to request a visa appointment.

For those foreign medical professionals already in the United States:

J-1 Alien Physicians (medical residents) may consult with their program sponsor, ECFMG, to extend their programs in the United States. Generally, a J-1 program for a foreign medical resident can be extended one year at a time for up to seven years.

Note that the expiration date on a U.S. visa does not determine how long one can be in the United States. The way to confirm one’s required departure date is here: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home.

Those who need to extend their stay or adjust their visa status must apply with USCIS. Their website is here: https://www.uscis.gov/visit-united-states/extend-your-stay

Hello all.

How is everyone doing in this covid-19 pandemic period? Schools and every training suspended indefinitely. If the situation continues this way, soon, schools in NYS will be graduating their senior healthcare students (MD, DO, PA, NP, RN, Pharm) earlier than usual to join the fight.

Social distancing and good hygiene, that's all you can do for now to be safe.

Stay safe guys!

Has anyone used UPS to receive I-20 lately?
How far? How many weeks did it take?

Please, is it possible to print the I-20 in coloured, instead of going through courier services?

Crazy mehn..

It is not advised to go to the embassy without full funding for PhD to cover almost everything or everything.

Because the cost is always huge.

Your main issue is the fund.

What if the PhD programme is 6 years, should the funding cover the 6-year duration or just the first year for a start?

Forget it bro, they won't approve. PhD should be fully funded.
Fully funded, is it for one academic year or for the duration of the PhD?

Please I need your advice, I got admission with partial funding of 28k out of 40k tuition fee and living expenses. It's require that I send a statement of account that cover the deficit. My questions is; sending my personal statement will be the best or that of my uncle. Although, I have the money in my corporate account.
Second; claiming that I am sponsoring my self in the Visa application profile with evidence of my corporate business account, best option or I should use my uncle. Please, I'll appreciate your Hillarious advise.

Get your Visa first before you travel

Like I said, pick a date .. Other dates will open up for July and August most likely.

You can always request for Extension from your school or do emergency request for an earlier interview.

If the need arises, how does one make emergency request for an earlier interview?

I am new here and look forward to learning a lot from you guys. So I am undergraduate who has aspirations to study abroad. I could have kick started the journey immediately after secondary school but for financial difficulties.

I had 3A, 3B2, and 3B3 in my Waec. In my own calculations, my GPA was around 3.67 (I will be glad if someone can crosscheck it for me)

And i am planning to write SAT towards the end of the year. I will be interested in information regarding how feasible my dream is and schools that offer full funding including board.

I am interested in studying computer science or its related variants

Pls all information would be welcomed

With the U.S having highest number of confirmed cases of corona and all US universities been on locked down for some weeks now. Let's just pray a cure or solution comes soon to the world. Because if situation continues this way, there may not be any fall enrollment for international students this year from the look of things. Even for us here, we are all compelled to study online from home via blackboard till further notice.

To all applicants, let's be safe and pray for the world to be healed soon. Wish you all the best

my daughter got admission into Xavier university with $23,000 a year scholarship. the cost of schooling a yr is $55,000.00. she also got admission into university of Dayton with $26,000.00 scholarship but a total cost of $65,000 a year. please where can I get more scholarship for her to make up the balance of over $30,000 a year. she has a GPA of 4.0/4.0. and SAT score of 1370.
I will not mind applying to other schools for her that will give better scholarship opportunities. She is almost resigning to fate since she score 326 in JAMB but I just want to try my possible best for her to make use of the opportunity.

Any advice will be appreciated

With that GPA and SAT, she would get a scholarship of $30,000 from the University of Arizona out of a tuition of $36,000. If she could get an SAT score of 1420, she would get a full scholarship. If you can pay the $5,000 difference, let her apply to the University of Arizona right away, otherwise, she should give the SAT another shot and aim for 1420. Feel free to contact me for any questions on U of A (Beardown)
See here: https://admissions.arizona.edu/cost-aid/international/international-tuition-award

If I were you, I'd also have her apply to small, liberal arts colleges such as Pomona College, Boudoing College, Ahrmest, Reed College, Trinity, Bates etc. Those are good schools that may funds. If she takes the SAT and hits 1450, there is no harm targeting ivy league and similarly top schools that offer need-blind admissions with need-based scholarships.

Finally, she should also apply to Miami University, Ohio, The University of Texas at Arlington, and The University of Alabama, and HBCU's like Howard, Clark Atlanta, and the other one near Morehouse. Since she's a girl, she should also include Wellesley College on her list.

She should spread her wings..

There is a good chance this entire year 2020 will be a complete write-off. if anything short of a cure doesn't show up, I am afraid we all have to start thinking ahead.

Even if America somehow manages to take care of these 140k infected people(and it hasn't even peaked) in the next three months, they sure won't be opening the borders unless there is a cure or vaccine.

Stocks are tumbling, n millions are getting laid-off. Companies are cutting costs n this might directly affect assistantship renewals n I genuinely feel for everybody including myself. this whole world is one giant shit-hole. Everyone went to sleep hoping the virus wouldn't cross in, you would think the so-called 'developed' world would be wiser. Senators who were privy to intelligence reports about the virus were selling off their shares in real estate/travel companies, and buying up shares in companies that support remote work, rather than warning the public.

For now, we can only pray that a cure is found...soon.
