I have always tried to find out the person behind this book. So it was Mama? Another version of New General Mathematics and Lacommbe's Mathematics as Brighter Grammar was as tough as these two books with diagrams to accompany it.

It was as though my mum used that book as a punishment for me when I was little.

If I talked too much, danced too much, ate too much, played too much...... She would tell me to go bring my brighter grammar or queen's primer

Even after reading the book, my mum would ask me to start from the first page again.

All the while, I use to think P A Ogundipe was a man. I used the New Practical English textbook from Form 1 to SS3. Even the brighter was from back to back.

Great books.

We were in the same boat. Quite surprise to know the author's gender is female not male. Good book anytime any day. May her soul RIP.

One of my mum's best and earliest gifts to me.
The presentation is one of the best ever.
You could grab so much as a boy without a guide.
If you sat back, you'd detect the errors of others with ease.

She died a legend.

Chai, very tough textbook. But everyone knew how good it was. It was still useful to refer to it even in secondary. The basic rules were so good with hindsight.

I'm happy she got the national award. A federal university English department or a Federal unity school should be named after her. A successful and impactful life well lived.
