Bros, without proper nutrition your body will fight nothing and since she is in isolation the family should not be allowed near her.

It is also not advisable for them to bring her food, otherwise dem fit bring food carry virus go home through personal contact or from the used plates. Unless they can use disposable plates each time to be left at the isolation unit.

The isolation units should work out proper feeding protocols with the family and if Na the family job to dey provide food and how it should be exchanged....drinking plenty of water is also very important as that keep the body hydrated and gives it more fighting chance.

Nigeria isn't ready for this virus yet.. Like WTF!!!
Anyone who believes the Bollocks reports from the NCDC is a plain dummy... Now I'm getting Scared for real angry

You more likely to die of fear than of COVID-19... grin
Not least because 80% of the infected are asymptomatic or only suffer mild symptoms.

If folks do EVERYTHING the NCDC says, they will be okay...
Basic hygiene, social isolation and distance, report symptoms.

It’s NOT an airborne virus...
So you have to be in CLOSE contact with an infected person to get infected.

This will not be a case of “government this, NCDC that”...
The actions of EVERYONE will determine the impact of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

Good luck to us all.

Lack of food may run her immunity down. The emotional stress from not see any medical expert to attend to her may be running down her immunity. They virus can thrive in her body now easily than before.

Isolation Centers are not ICUs...
She might be asymptomatic, but still isolated so that she doesn’t affect her family and others.

In fact, in many places, motels and dorms are used as isolation centers...
I understand a parents’ reflexive distress, but we really need more information to make any informed comment.

I was wondering if my ears were paining me. I heard Alamutu. A sensible tribal bigot would rather focus on the man pain than be amused by the meaning of a concorted name. What if she is an only child. May God bless these nairaland kids with sense and empathy.

What you said is just funny but let me verify something. Are you saying foods are not meant to be giving in Isolation centres? Are saying it is right not to fed her because she is asymptomatic? Please note: Food is needed both in the ICUs and Isolation centres for both symptomatic and asymptomatic persons.

Whatever you say, asking him to calm down should not even feature at all! This is the government ineptitude and carelessness we keep talking about. If your child was to be ill, subject to an isolation and yet without basic medical attention and nutrition what would you do?

Never excuse deliberate government failure and mediocrity please! Citizens deserve better.

Government need to improve in their response and be more willing to respond when people calls. They need to also improve on these isolation/management centers, most of revelations are not nice to hear.

The fear is that if people began to speak negative of these centers and its proven as such, then, people may not trust them again and that is when the worst will happen because even if symptoms manifests, they may not call or willingly submit themselves for testing and thereby getting many others infected.

May God save us and bring an end to this pandemic.

Of course not...
Everyone needs food, wherever you are.

We all need food whether or not we are sick...
But if she is completely asymptomatic her immune system is not substantively any more compromised than anyone else’s.

Perhaps your post was not the best to comment on...
But my comment was more concerned with the entirety of the Dad’s complaint.
