Please I need clarification, so if I'm lucky to get a tier 2 sponsorship after my masters and I was able to complete the 5 years requirement of getting indefinite leave to remain, UK government can still deny me? Or there is something I'm not getting very well?pls people that have gotten to that level should please come to our aid so that we will not have unrealistic expectations.

I dont fully get your question but after 5 years on tier 2 and meeting the requirements, a person should be able to get ILR and then one year later citizenship

If you kept your immigration profile clean getting ILR after 5yrs and citizenship a year after is less stressful than applying for visiting visa.

Greetings house!
I just got unconditional offer for Masters in Advanced mechanical engineering with Shefield Hallam university. I have been requested to pay 1000GBP to secure a place... Also, I have admission with Uni Portsmouth, MSc in Engineering management.
Please I need answers and advice to these questions
1) Though everyone is hopeful for the solution to covid-19, should I go ahead to make the 1k payment despite this pandemic or I should wait?

2) Which of these two universities and locations would offer more job opportunities for student and also chances for career breakthrough(Please I don’t intend to return after schooling grin).
I am currently working in the aviation industry.

Good day, house

Please, I got a conditional offer of admission from University of Bradford (M.Sc Medical Bioscience)

One of the conditions is payment of 2000 pounds, while the other is providing IELTS or equivalent test result.

I wrote them a mail, asking for exemption from providing that result on the basis of my high school and undergraduate education. Also attached my WASSCE result and certificate of English proficiency to the mail I sent to them.

I'll like to know, are their conditions ironclad, or is there a chance they'll reconsider and rescind their earlier decision?

If there is anyone schooling at UB, please, how is the school and the area generally?

Well , going for 2yrs program may be a waste of time if doing menial jobs is the reason but if upgrading yourself is the reason then you are good to go . Here are my reasons.
1. During your first year, you may like to focus more on your studies without learning extraordinarily

2. For IT students, the 2nd year maybe used to read and sit for international certifications to add to your CV e.gCIsco CyberOps Associate
CCNP Security
CCIE Security
Certified Ethical Hacking Certification
GIAC Penetration Tester
Offensive Security Certified Professional
The first 2 can be written in the pace of 6 months
where the last 3 can be written in a space of one month . It's like(using one stone to kill birds)

3. As an IT student, 2 years even without seeing where to do intern ..... is an advantage to learn and you may even decide to leave uk after your studies if you wish.

this is part of my view for 2years option

Thank you so much for the bolded. I really needed to hear that.
Anyone else headed in for Info Security later this year?

.

Nice info though and it is promising, but CCNP Security and CCIE Security cannot be written in 6 months though but can be ACHIEVED just to put more clarity. CCNP security is achievable in 6months but CCIE Security is the expert level which can take a year or more of intense studIies. The route can be CCNP security, other security certifications and finally CCIE Security.

My school (Bedfordshire) just postponed my June 1st start date and gave me a revised offer to start July 27th. My problem now is that the new offer came with an increased tuition £15320. I already made 50% tuition deposit of £6625 with the previous offer with tuition £13250. I am just confused. They want me to top up. This isn't fair at all.

UPDATE GUYS!!!
They finally reduced the fees after I threatened involving a Lawyer. They now want me to send my bank statement by end of next month.

If you're not sure you'd have the funds up by then, you should respond to their email stating, your most convenient day.
You have them in your court now.

Thank you, and Yes, I agree that the information does look promising.
I have sought to find current practicing Nigerians in the UK Security industry, but haven't had any promising leads yet.

What certification(s) would you suggest fits into the bolded gap? CISM?

it just that you have paid some money ….if not , a school that behaves like that is not worth attending or spending your hard earned 13k+ pound in

Start with CEH if you are new to Info Security world, next by CISSP and CISM. While CISSP and CISM are common requirements, CEH launch and prepare you well for security world. The rest ( GIAC, OSCP, Cisco-Security etc) are better done when you have a grip understanding in area you what to specialize.

For those already in UK and their course is related to IT. Please, how easy is it to see a placement as software engineer.

Also, does UK allow a student to work online as a freelancer?

No you cant, unfortunately.
Tier 4 visa holders cannot engage in business or be self-employed, and the definition of self-employment includes freelancing, consulting, etc.

Nice that you followed my advice of threatening them with a lawyer.

When you get to the UK, try and know the law of tenancy, job and other things. Google it up.

Once you dont know the law, the UK will exploit you.

We humans are all the same. The main difference between the developed countries and developing countries is that developed countries follow and respect the law.

So they are always scared of the law because you can easily sue the school of 50,000 pounds and make easy money if they didn't reduce the price as they know you know the law.

As a black man, you become the boss when you know the law as any oppressor fear when they see you.

Knowledge is Power.

Not even remote jobs as a student? Working from the confines of your Studio?

Everyone telling you how brilliant your move to threaten your potential school with a lawyer is but i for one think you should have explore other peaceful approaches of resolving the issue first. Reasons: you and your school are just getting started plus you haven't secured a visa yet. Best thing to do in this situation was to follow dialogue, threatening with a lawyer should have been your last resort. Basically UK schools give discount for any change in starting date, that is almost certain. Well, moving forward I would suggest you write them thanking them for reversing the fee. Be humble, remember UK is a polite society. Tell them you're glad they gave your query consideration as that would have tampered with your travel plans. Then you follow it up by telling them when you think it's convenient for you to provide your Bank statement. When you get to the UK you can threaten and sue sh** as much as you want. If you don't do this, they might be up to something. If you can't provide your bank statement they might offer to refund you which some schools take a handsome percentage of your CAS fee. In the meantime start looking at other possible options. Wish you luck

Only if you are employed temp or perm for a max of 20 hours per week during term time. Now depends if the company allows remote working.

Thank them for what exactly..... you write as if they are doing him a favour. It a mutually beneficial relationship. He gets an education and they get paid . If they dont want to go ahead fine there are many other schools in uk

What has humble got to do with it. The school was out of order . Its comment like this that make for exploitation of someone

You don't get it. There's time for everything, its never right to start off a relationship on that note. You'll just push this guy to trouble and when the chips are down you'll be nowhere to be found. Doesn't matter who is doing who a favour, generally you don't resolve issue by immediately threatening people with legal action. put yourself in the shoes of the school. like I said earlier in most cases they offer discount, what if the school had that in plan. No matter how you see it, it's rude to immediately threatened anyone or institution with legal action. if life hasn't thought you this then you have some growing up to do

This is just unnecessary, it was an offer if you don't want to take it you ask for the refund of your deposit, Your threat means absolutely nothing, you would have just wasted your money on lawyer and at the end you get your refund.

Before getting to the stage of lawyers, just state your objection. They can be very reasonable in such circumstances. Let's show our great communication skills.

Nice.

You gotta have good persuasive skills to get things done especially when you are within your right in the UK.

Funny enough NomzyJust had earlier communicated with them and they just neglected him.

With the threat, they shake with fear and drastically reduced the unjust tuition fee hike. They dont want to lose his money as he has every right to collect his money has the school fraudulently changed the terms and conditions of his offer.

If he had not threatened them, NomzyJust will have just dashed them about 2500 pounds and be exploited. Thank God for saving the money to help yourself.

Dont worry NomzyJust of any consequences. In fact, your school will from now talk with you cautiously and respectfully.

Growing up cheesy... you think UK is Nigeria where anything goes. An offer that was agreed and a deposit was paid should never be increased

Maybe you need to read about consumer protection law / rights in the uk and how any BUSINESS which have hiked prices due to the coronavirus outbreak needs be reported to Trading Standards.
