Almaiga:Those that have ruled before, what did they get out of it? The North that have ruled for 40 years have 87% poverty rate, high illiteracy rate, high drug abuse rate and terrorism rate. Those who have ruled Nigeria have nothing to show for it and you are disturbing Igbos who are business minded, with the useless office of president that has never helped anybody |

Northern traded for sharia law and the number one man is in power today.. Who says igbos should drop Thier Biafra ambition before approaching presidency.. You can't tell 60million people to drop Thier dreams in a country where they're other 140 million to decide. Who will ever will rule should continue.. At last Notherners have already hijacked the country. Anyone on top is stil below Dem. Keep deciding yourselves. |

Mmuoojukwu:Bro, the truth is nobody gets the president by blackmail, at least, not a public one. How many of the political class in Igbo land are ambitious enough for the presidency. Since 1999, how many Igbos have flown the flag of the major political parties in a general election..? You need to want it so badly you can go any length just to have it.. at that point, it becomes difficult to discard you. How many times did buhari contest again before getting it..? What's stopping our political class from being the pdp flag bearer in 2023 or we simply support Apc..? That's how to fight. |

You don't still understand the analogy. Buhari had impressive resume (anti-corruption, Spartan-like discipline and Military experience) which he sold to his employer (the voters). However, it's a different ball game entirely to decide whether impressive resume of a job seeker is equal to his capability. For instance, we can not say for sure if a prospective employee with M.Sc in Analytical Chemistry from ABU, UNN or LAUTECH about to be employed by the Ministry of Environment can generate cooking gas from Sewage waste of Gwarinpa Estate. It's impossible to be Nigerian president without a blackmail. No tribe blackmails like the north and no tribe accuses others of blackmail like the north. Flashback to the events in the north before buhari won. Tell yourself the truth. What are they called? |

From what I have observed about you; You dissipate so much energy about your real and imaginary enemies, the Yorubas instead of thinking about your strategies in achieving your goals. The truth is that no Igbo presidential candidate has ever contested the election on the platform of any major political party, so how can you win when you don't contest? Contest for the tickets of both APC and PDP in 2023 with all seriousness. Even if you don't win in 2023 you will make an impressive showing which can be your position of strength in the following election. Don't approach political issues from the mindsets of traders that only invest in areas with immediate return on investment. Even in the US, many presidents only win after years of being in the race e.g Jimmy Cater, Ronald Reagan, Nixon etc. It may interest you to know that Donald Trump joined the presidential race as far back as 1998. In Nigieria, Atiku first contested for the presidential ticket in 1993, then 2007, 2011, 2015,2019 and still warming up against 2023. The late Dr Olusola Saraki ran against Shagari for the NPN ticket in 1979, then for SDP ticket in 1992 and APP ticket in 1999. The Late MKO Abiola was warming up to contest the presidential Primaries of the NPN in 1983 even against the incumbent President Sheu Shagari before he resigned from the party in protest against level playing field. oyatz:Imagine your false analysis. Some of you don’t know anything about Ndigbo except those fed you by your propaganda Lagos-Ibadan media. You sit in your bedrooms and analyze issues that are beyond your understanding. How do you mean the Igbos haven’t contested under the major political parties? Sometimes I get angry with a lot of Yoruba’s and how you downplay or belittle the political efforts of the Igbos. This was how you guys kept deceiving the indomie generations that Ndigbo have never supported the Yoruba political ambitions, until facts were brought forth. 1. You said this trash countless times until the voting results of the 1993 elections was posted on nairaland which busted your falsehood. Abiola winning Anambra and getting over 40% votes in all eastern states despite having an Igbo as running mate for the NRC. 2. You lied again that Ndigbo never stood with you Yoruba’s during the June 12 struggle. Still yet, we saw the row call of the founders of NADECO with a large host of Igbo activists. We saw an Nwankwo as the Vice Chairman of NADECO, we saw a large number of known Igbo elder statesmen who stood their feet. We also saw the likes of Agbakoba, Ubani, Chris Anyanwu etc in Abacha’s dungeon. Lastly, we saw the likes of Ekwueme with his leadership of the G-30 which fought the junta till democracy was gifted in 1999. But because of the exploits of the youthful Daniel Kanu who wasn’t different from the Yoruba leaders who sold out to Abacha, the Igbo nation was ridiculed by you miserable loud mouths. 3. Before you come out spreading your falsehood about Ndigbo not producing candidates for the major parties, here are a list of Igbos who bid for the Presidential positions. 1979 - 1983 NPP: Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe The NPP won three states in Nigeria, Plateau, Imo, Anambra. The breakaway GNPP faction led by Waziri Ibrahim won Borno state. NPN: Alex Ekwueme was running mate to Shehu Shagari. 1992-1993 Presidential Election SDP: Arthur Nzeribe was disqualified NRC: Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu was disqualified and a host of other notable Igbo sons by Babangida appointed NEC screening committee. This was why no notable Igbo contested for Presidency. Rather Sylvester Ugoh became running mate to NRC Bashir Tofa. 1999 Presidential Elections PDP: Alex Ekwueme lost Primary to Obasanjo APP: Ogbannaya Onu dropped ambition for Olu Falae and his party the ANPP merged with AD to form the APP for the Presidential election. 2003 Presidential Election APGA: Ikemba Ojukwu. Came third with 1 million votes after Buhari who came second. ANPP: Chuba Okadigbo contested as running mate with Muhammadu Buhari. 2007 Presidential Election ADP: Pat Utomi PDP: Rochas Okorocha came 2nd in the primary that produced Umaru Musa Yar’adua. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala came a distant third. ANPP: Edwin-Ume Ezeoke was running mate to Muhammadu Buhari. 2011 PDP: This was the first time no Igbo contested. The GEJ candidacy was supported. 2015 UPP: Chekwas Okolie AP: Rochas Okorocha 2019 YPP: Kingsley Moghalu whose party won the Anambra South senatorial seat. PDP: Peter Obi was running mate to Atiku Abubakar APC: Rochas Okorocha stepped down for Buhari. APGA: Jerry Chukwueke was running mate to John Gbor |
