So I got these two admission offers for Master's study of my dream course (Bioinformatics) from Cranfield and Aberdeen in the UK for September/October academic session. Now the challenge is that I seriously depend on getting an external scholarship to fund the study which I haven't yet, otherwise I'd probably defer the admission offers except a miracle for self funding happens.

Now where I need your contributions is deciding which is the better option between Cranfield University (Applied Bioinformatics) & University of Aberdeen (Biotechnology, Bioinformatics & Bio-Business), considering post study work visa, experience, cost of living, study life, job prospect during and after study, etc.

No view would be considered irrelevant by me or anybody in this platform, pls. You just might be helping many others in my shoes on this platform too. Thanks & regards.

Funny enough NomzyJust had earlier communicated with them and they just neglected him.

With the threat, they shake with fear and drastically reduced the unjust tuition fee hike. They dont want to lose his money as he has every right to collect his money has the school fraudulently changed the terms and conditions of his offer.

If he had not threatened them, NomzyJust will have just dashed them about 2500 pounds and be exploited. Thank God for saving the money to help yourself.

Yes I communicated and their response was " I have to top up at some point". That was a breach of contract. They knew but thought an international applicant from Nigeria can easily be exploited.

This is just unnecessary, it was an offer if you don't want to take it you ask for the refund of your deposit, Your threat means absolutely nothing, you would have just wasted your money on lawyer and at the end you get your refund.

Yes I would get my refund but it wouldn't be exactly what I paid (£6625) cos of bank charges etc. I lost alot in Canada refund. The would be lawyer wasn't prepared to collect a quid from me because he was not happy with what the school did.

Everyone telling you how brilliant your move to threaten your potential school with a lawyer is but i for one think you should have explore other peaceful approaches of resolving the issue first. Reasons: you and your school are just getting started plus you haven't secured a visa yet. Best thing to do in this situation was to follow dialogue, threatening with a lawyer should have been your last resort. Basically UK schools give discount for any change in starting date, that is almost certain. Well, moving forward I would suggest you write them thanking them for reversing the fee. Be humble, remember UK is a polite society. Tell them you're glad they gave your query consideration as that would have tampered with your travel plans. Then you follow it up by telling them when you think it's convenient for you to provide your Bank statement. When you get to the UK you can threaten and sue sh** as much as you want. If you don't do this, they might be up to something. If you can't provide your bank statement they might offer to refund you which some schools take a handsome percentage of your CAS fee. In the meantime start looking at other possible options. Wish you luck

When you get to the UK, try and know the law of tenancy, job and other things. Google it up.

Once you dont know the law, the UK will exploit you.

We humans are all the same. The main difference between the developed countries and developing countries is that developed countries follow and respect the law.

So they are always scared of the law because you can easily sue the school of 50,000 pounds and make easy money if they didn't reduce the price as they know you know the law.

As a black man, you become the boss when you know the law as any oppressor fear when they see you.

This will be really helpful for those on Tier 4 dependant seeking to switch visas to Tier 4 (or other category) would be allowed, temporarily, to apply from within the UK, rather than having to apply by returning to Nigeria.

To me, it also interprets to as anyone on any kind of visa (even visitor but please double check this) can switch.

The annoying thing is they gave the most unhelpful example since Tier 4 to Tier 2 has always been allowed in-country.

Read your admission letter very well to know where you or the university stands on issues.

Don’t be quick to get hot tempered for something you could have negotiated amicably and come out with a better deal.

There is sense in this. You don't need to flaunt the law in their face. Use the law as the last resort and keep it to your chest up till the last moment.
