There's nothing wrong with your getting married before you apply for the visa; as long as your partner has his maintenance and you can show your relationship is a genuine and subsisting one (i.e. you really are married and are not separated).

However, plan carefully re your fees. The UK had low unemployment of about 3.9% pre-pandemic, and that is definitely going to increase post-pandemic and consumer confidence and demand will grow only gradually. A strategy based on a partner working to earn the balance of school fees is going to be risky in 2020 - 21.

Okay, thanks for your input. We would also have to keep a Plan B in mind then.

Come let's put hands together, use same textbook, share codes and wriggle it out together.

Will we be able to spend 7,038,036,578 minutes on it before September?

Lol, Started learning it already. It is quite interesting but programming has never been my thing. At the moment, I no grt choice, I will need a good ROI on my investment.

Greetings house.

Please is there any prospective student of Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) or anyone conversant with the school.

What's the school like in terms of teaching, the location and life in general?

I recently got an offer in Nursing from the school. I'll appreciate your inputs and advice.

Thanks

Though you didn't call me out, I can boldly say that you're in order based on past counsel (which I ignored), my recent personal research and my admission interview experience.

Social workers are in low numbers in the UK compared to the workload of a welfare state, hence the reason the profession - Social worker is able to make it to the occupation shortage list.

BTW, what other options are you considering?

Thank you @Mindlog and Segunwamiri..
I am considering Mental Health Nursing too..but 2020 /2021 Admission is no more on...

I am considering schools in Scotland.

How can a couple that got married few months to their tier 4 visa application prove genuine & subsisting. No shared utility bills, council tax bills or joint bank statements as we are not really used to these stuffs in Naija.

cc Justwise

You don't need any of those really.

1.Did you do white wedding and traditional one?

2.Any picture taken before wedding?

3. Chat history?(Whatsapp, facebook messenger, sms)

even all those ones aren’t needed like that since it is not spousal visa!

The main thing is the wedding certificate, any other thing is Secondary!

Just feel like sharing my experience in Studying so far with you all!

Yea my school officially resumed on 13th January and lectures were fixed to commence the following week. In my first day in lecture I was totally confused because the pattern of teaching I was used too From Nigeria wasn’t the pattern used here I believe you all know the pattern na! Where your lecturer will dictate notes for you and explain every bit for you if you have a good lecturer but amazingly here in Uk it is absolutely different! Lecturers doesn’t give notes! I was actually expecting the lecturer to give notes. The lecturers only come to class to give you an overview of what he or she uploaded in his or her lecture slides which could be found on your student portal. You are expected to read widely on your own, you are assigned a personal tutor for guidance and so forth. Things were really challenging for me owing to the fact I wasn’t used to this kind of digital teaching. Secondly Understanding the British accent is another challenging thing for me but gradually I started getting use to their way of speaking. So far so good these are the things I have noticed in Uk

1. Europeans are not brilliant but intelligent

2. Their way of teaching is absolutely different from Nigerian pattern of teaching

3. The Europeans make learning fun! We have like three-floor building in my school library. The first floor you are allowed to shout or do anything you wanna do while reading whilst the second floor is a quite zone! So you have the choice to choose where u wanna read: noisy zone or quite zone. In our library we also have beds to sleep lol! If you are tired you can jump on the bed and sleep! We also have pubs!

4. Respect is not seen in terms of sir or mar but in terms of politeness. I call my lecturers by their names

5. Professors are scarce! You will hardly meet a professor in Uk while doing your MSc unlike Nigeria

6. Asians are brilliant and intelligent

7. You don’t need to buy books while studying in Uk

8. You will get the marks you deserve! No bad belle lecturers.

1. That is false, absolute false. Maybe the brilliant ones regarded tryout school as 3rd rate, hence you haven’t met them.

5. Your school is probably a 3rd or 4th rated school, that’s why you haven’t seen/met a lot of Professors. Someone attending Federal University, Dutsinma in Katsina is likely going to encounter fewer professors compared with someone attending University of Ife ( I learnt they have changed the name of Great Ife - I don’t know what the new name is).

You are right. Most UK or European student in Teeside university are 2.2 graduates.
The brilliant and intelligent ones are in top UK schools. School fees is virtually the same so they opt for the top schools.

I am considering schools in Scotland.

Mental health nursing is also a very good one considering especially your currently held BSc. Psychology. Well, it all depends on your interests, previous experiences and what you hope for in the future.

However, note that majority of the schools offering MHN are keen on previous experience (mostly paid and with proof) when considering applications. Also, Scottish schools appear to be more expensive than one would have thought.

Just thinking aloud! The negativity on this thread is absolutely lousy and it would make you believe that as a Student in UK you can not make it but that’s actually not the truth as it being portrayed out here. I noticed those false alarms are proportionally being bLoaned by those that haven’t flown out of Nigeria before. My advise to all prospective candidates is this don’t mind what people are saying about UK here. Make up your mind to achieve the best and surely you will achieve the best. I have been in UK for less than 5 months and UK has been predominantly good to me in all entity. Atleast I don’t struggle to pay my bills and feed myself as a week work can settle all my expenses for one month. I even have a car in UK as an international student despite people portraying having a car as a big deal in UK. Go for the best and the sky will be your limit.

Tobexin

I admire your outlook and positivity. However, this isn't the story for everyone as most people who come to school in the UK do not find it this easy. Studying in the UK is tasking and the more technical your course is, the more difficult it is. Combining it with work only makes is more difficult. Lucky for you, you were able to get a job relating to your field of study which is evidently a bonus.

I have friends who tried the schooling and working thing and it greatly affected their studies. Why spend all that money only to come out with a pass? For many people who have "gloomy" outlooks, it is as a result of what they have gone through and what a majority of people will face.

In all situations though, positivity and determination can get you far and knowing what you might face when you get to the UK and being adequately prepared for it will undoubtedly help people who are making the switch.

My 2 cents is, you are going to commit millions to a course if study, learn to research, get your chin up and most importantly develop a relationship with God for guidance and grace and things will surely work out for you!
