I'm not Muslim, but they bury their dead within 24 hours.

The only prominent Nigerian muslim I know who got buried late was MKO Abiola, and that was because his supporters and family insisted on a comprehensive autopsy first before burial.

They don't FOLLOW Islamic induction, if a Muslim dies before ASR prayer(4pm) and can be prepared for burial BEFORE magrib(7pm), he should be buried without hesitation. If not, the followed morning. That's Sunnah (Islam).
