My phone heats too much lately. Gets a bit slower when charging because it brings one message of "Device is over heating". How is the new MIUI update? Would it solve some problems? How is it battery friendly?
Someone please, fill me in..
What device?

How do you use your phone?
The chipset could be damaged from the constant over heating.

Your Chipset is not damaged, external temperature affects temperature of a smartphone. So too much heat, can lead to speed throttling of the processor

I'm beginning to suspect this as the case case. Even I myself this weather isn't conducive for me at all.

1. Update your device.

2. I use an RN7 as well. RN7 is a device sandwiched by glass. Glass is a b*tch that acts as a greenhouse. It absorbs external heat and refuses to give it off easily. This external heat combined with the internal heat generated by the phone is a lot of serious concern as it traps internal heat as well. Glass phones heat up faster and longer than plastic.

Usually the phone will warn you when it cannot tolerate certain temperatures. At that point your phone is still safe. Listen to it.

I don't know where you live but I live in the deep north and we have 40°C plus temperatures daily.

External temperatures play a huge part and your style of use is also important.

In hot temperatures, don't use it for extended periods of time, don't use max brightness, use 3G if possible, avoid charging it all together. Place in cool areas (no put am inside fridge oh). These will protect your phone till this heat goes away.

As far as I can tell. Your device seems healthy since it's still giving you appropriate warnings as at when due.

You're smart... Thumbs up...

festwiz:
It's 74k on AE. 6/64GB. Those selling probably have old stock they want to get rid off. Xiaomi needs to sell these first batch off the production lines to know how much more to manufacture. It's business bro.

Smartphone sales expected to tank by 17% this year. With this pandemic, trust me, $1000 smartphones won't be flying off the shelf. There have been more devices released within $250-$700 in this period. That's why Apple was quick to release the SE (2020) for $400. That will probably be one of the highest selling iPhone of 2020.

Nothing do your phone.. There was a time i was charging, streaming music, sharing hotspot to my pc (all at the same time) and that overheating prompt popped up. It normally shows up when you are forcing too much load on the device.
