Can you recommend standing fans to use?

My current fan (OX AC 230V 50HZ 70W) makes a very loud annoying noise whenever I'm on inverter (Mercury 1.2 modified sine wave with Luminous battery)

Get 12v DC fans that are available on Jumia and Konga for as low as 14k for the 16 inches blade. They are non-rechargeable but can be hooked to your inverter (via included AC pack) or directly to your 12v battery source or hooked directly to your 50 watts 12v solar panels.

I seem to be in the same shoes, got a 12v 4000w pure sine wave off grid inverter from Jumia global, but on testing it the noise coming from my TV speakers was something else. But once I change it back to grid power or my prag inverter the noise disappears.

I'm contemplating returning it back to Jumia and getting a refund, but I need to be very sure before doing that as all my fans are DC fan and I don't have any coil based equipment to further test and confirm.

Can anyone advise on a means of confirmation to know for sure it's pure or modified sine wave.

Attached is a picture of the said inverter.

Please return it. If it's thru Jumia global, then it's likely to be a modified sine wave. It'll have been better if you ordered directly on AE instead of going thru Jumia global. You'd have filed a trade dispute for your money to be fully returned and AE still allows you to keep the item as proper punishment for the seller for selling you a fake product.

As per the way you can confirm if it's pure sine or not, the more accurate method is using a sinusoidal wave meter which is pricey and of course not easy to come across from local sellers. The crude method is the humming sound when appliances like fan, sound system and TVs are plugged in.

I don't know if someone else has any more ideas.

Thanks for Ur usual helpful input, as per Jumia; I can always return and get my money back, and they're not that bad just some seller being very mischievous, I have a 1500w 12v pure sine wave inverter, gotten from Jumia global that's working very well. I just wanted something bigger to accommodate my freezer that's why I went for something a bit bigger. Too bad the seller had to show his mischief.

I'll contact Jumia and seek clarification but I've gone back to the 1500w model, I no get money to change TV for now.

Once again thanks for your input.

So I thought about the possibility of flexibility for DIYers in the use of the LFP packs. I have 2 packs of 12v that are each composed of 4 pcs CATL 105ah 3.2v prismatic LFP and 12v BMS, though different products. These cells do not require soldering job, only screws and wire lugs to from the pack.

What if there is a way to develop a quick swap reconfiguration to 24v, 36v, 48 and even 72v pack by just dismantling current packs and reconnecting with the appropriate BMS?

I feel this will reduce the headache of getting LFPs that will not support series connection. One can simply re-configure such LFPs with the appropriate BMS.

I'm not willing to try this out now o grin , not until I have spare LFP to play around with. I'm planning to acquire a lot of CATL LFP cells as much as my pocket will allow. Then I can expand capacity or reconfigure as I wish by just screwing in cells into the packs.

That's the idea, am planning to do just that though for me it's within 24v but increasing capacity. Changing voltage will require other equipment change which would be more significant

Please what inverter capacity would be suitable for the following appliances: 1 50 inches TV, 1 home theater, a ceiling fan, 2 standing fans and 4 electric bulbs? I would also appreciate idea on the price of getting the inverter, batteries, important accessories and installation amount

How are you guys able to do all these amid the lockdown?

I still wonder. Abi no be this 9ja una dey?

Just keep the prices reasonable and affordable for us cos after this lockdown, I know people go bombard una. Don't leverage on the increased demand to unjustifiably hike your prices.

Can you put the technical specifications of this TV on here?

If possible upload the technical manual for guys.

Edited: Okay, I googled it. But no mention of the power consumption. It's only the AC specs that was specified.

Does it have DC input?

Most 32" LG LED I've seen is rated maximum of 55w, though real life use is around 41w or less. The ones I've seen does not have a DC input.

It's no biggie... I know a warehouse where offload are allowed but not trade. After offload, warehouse shuts.

To unload means they drove on the road from the port. How did they cross dem police/army/NSCDC etc checkpoints as per goods is not essential goods? That's where the levels I'm talking about comes in.

The port is still operational, I know those who clear vehicles are still operational just that you can't officially take the vehicle out of Lagos.

Oh yeah. I know about that. Goods may arrive port and cleared, the real problem is how to get the goods from the port to where it is needed.

like the ads i see, where they say people should buy a small gadget , which will enable them run 2hp sumo pumps and steam iron on i pass my nebo gens grin grin grin

grin definitely not. Its a kind of thermistor i think. It puts a transient resisttance in series with the load. This resistance is dynamic with the temperature of the component and hence the current running through the circuit. An amazing litle something

I have not.
If there's it will be worth looking at as it will drastically reduce the need to oversize an inverter or generator.

Ok. I will ttry and get the video link here

bros, after all this beautiful advertising, you did not put price grin grin
from experience, the cheapest option for low wattage fans is going for ac/dc fans, without the rechargeable - battery option.its usually btw 10k and 13k, unlike the normal rechargeable standing fan that is above 20k.
i bought 2 different units few months ago, and wrote reviews on them here

so if it that simple, why dont inverter and gen manufacturers add that into their design, it could even be an option,..you press a button/engage when needed

I hope you are up for the maintenance required for fla batteries. That said you may need to increase number of panels to 6 or 8 if you want to power that load through the day with enough juice left in your battery for the night

Thank you for the response. By maintenance, can you please explain more on that? The technician said all I'll need to be doing is to fill it up with distilled water after a long time of usage
