I did it once but not deliberately o...but because I was tired of washing the beans again and again then...the moimoi turned out dark in colour but it was still delicious though
The beans were partly peeled and partly unpeeled

shortcut to washing beans. put your beans in a blender, add water allow to stand for 5 minutes and pulse, decant to remove the peels. Beans is ready!

Ekuru is a meal I enjoyed eating a lot while growing up. Ekuru is also called "ofu-loju" by some people. I dont know if none Yorubas know much about this delicacy ( In fact I don't know if it has an English name)

Ekuru is made from beans just like moin moin; the beans is peeled the same way u peel Ur beans for moin moin. However, the beans used for ekuru is blended plain white without adding seasoning, pepper, fish or salt....The blended beans is either tied nylon, kept in cups/small containers or wrapped in leaf the same way u would moin-moin. It is then cooked on high heat just like moin moin.

Once the ekuru is done u will need to prepare a badass peppered stew with enough locust beans, ponmo and if u like dried fish.

The ekuru will then be served with the spicy stew and a sprinkle of salt is added to the ekuru after which u will mash it with Ur hands to mix the stew to every nook and cranny of the mashed ekuru.

I actually prefer this ekuru to moin moin any day any time. It tastes so good.

Growing up we usually take it with ẹ̀kọ́ (solid pap) but I had this with Sweetened yoghurt.

NB: The stew is best enjoyed with ekuru if it is made with palm oil

Yes it can be baked the same way u would moin-moin, just make sure it is the blended beans alone that is baked without adding any seasoning or pepper to it.

Honestly, I can eat more than four. I eat nothing less than 6 with my amala- that is minus fried panla. You guys own stand out because you can eat it with ANYTHING! Same way you add stew to almost every food.

That is why at Marriage introduction, ( which is the formal meeting of the two families coming together to signal the lrelarion for a wedding) the bride's family will try to either serve the groom's family two meat per plate or a meat and fish per plate just to show them they are important people. Meanwhile the bride's family will serve themselves one each o.

Lol. Nice tradition. Though on a good day, I find it pretty weird serving an adult 1 meat. Even if I go to a restaurant, you know those type that have followcome meat? I take them as a joke if it is less than 2.
