Crude Oil is not selling, essential commodities especially raw materials and all the imported goods used in import cursed economy like ours (Nigeria) have stopped. Electrical power has been absent for the longest time, revenue generating avenues for governance have all effectively stopped, egg producers cannot sell because of the stupid lockdown, the list goes on and on depending on how you are affected.
What will be the solution/remedy to this cataclysmic developments.
All the nations of earth shall be impacted. Everyone including this forum should be thinking about the future as it looks very gloom in many ramifications.

To Seun and All Nairaland Moderators,

People will call you an agent of doom, but truth be told, you are absolutely right.
I can't imagine what the situation of a country like Nigeria will be in say three months time if this thing is not curbed quickly.

Infact, government officials will also partake in the mess. Our reliance on Crude oil is about to be exposed. It was within 59 and 67 Dollars per barrel in december 2019, now it's at about 18 dollars per barrel. That's even of you have someone to buy from you.

Giants like America is storing crude like it has never done before as nobody is buying.

Government workers that think they can't be affected should think twice.

Pastors and imams that think they are free, should better increase their prayers. As it is, people will no longer pay USSD offering again o.

I pray vaccine is available sooner than later to avoid the real apocalypse.

David Beasley told the UN's security council. "There is also a real danger that more people could potentially die from the economic impact of Covid-19 than from the virus itself."

This will be the reality in countries like Nigeria, eventually the chicken is coming to roost and this will be an indictment on all the previous and the especially the current failed government ofMajor Gen(retd) and PMB. Including other African nations in general.

Well it was nice they closed border and have been investing in the agricultural sector in recent times.

Truth be told, the economy would have to be opened sooner or later else hunger would cause more deaths than COVID.

China has already reopened its economy in staggered rates and with enforced face masking.

US citizens are already protesting the continued closure...

Let's just see how it goes. Open the economy in bits. Enforce safety measures. Totally ban unnecessary congregations.(parties,). If students can study online take tests and exams online then they should.

Thank God it didn't come out of the mouth of Oyedepo or Adeboye. Children of hate would have pounced. The Bible says seed time and harvest time shall not cease. One there is lockdown in seed time March-May, harvest is bound to suffer. Simple logic.

Forget the hunger story . What will happen in Nigeria is just migration from the urban areas back to rural areas which will afford people to farm to keep their family going . Silently , people are already investing in farming by acquiring lands ( hectares) in rural areas especially in Oyo states .

If Nigeria can vouch of producing varieties of rice within the shortest period of time then it won't be a major issue to produce more maize/ corns , potatoes and vegetables that take less than 4 months to cultivate .

No to dooming reports

Finally, The UN of this Generation recongnized that things are Not Normal in these times...

Finally they Recongnize THE HOLY BIBLE

The UN of these times have failed the Woman..

Since they have Recongnized that we are sliding into Biblical Famines, Then they better do what those in the Bible did when they had Problems..

Instead of donating Billions of dollars that will do nothing, They better Seek GOD'S Face as the Body that represents the World..

Is it that you can't read or you can read but you have a very poor comprehension? Please, I'm not trying to make fun of you or your handicap.

Unless you read a different post but the post I just read didn't in any imply that the UN recognized the christian Bible or anything like that. It just stated that some countries might experience famine of "biblical proportion" not biblical famine (whatever this is supposed to mean). Famines of the size and scale like those chronicled in the christian holy writ. It doesn't mean they suddenly recognized the supremacy of the Bible like you'll have us believe.

I know you're trying to proselytize your faith but please while you're at it don't say plainly stupid things like this. And talking about seeking god's face, haven't we been seeking god's faith since time immemorial, what problem have been solved by seeking god's face? Isn't this supposed to be the end times and part of god's program to draw this present dispensation to a grand prophetic close like his word and religious fucknuts like you claim? Why then should we seek god's face, for him to tweak his plan or what?

DANGOTE: CNN KNOWS HOW TO RIDICULE NIGERIAN BILLIONAIRES.

Immediately after CNN announced the UN warning of famine in Africa, it showed Nigerians struggling for food in Lagos, followed with "Dangote building surpluses in Africa" an advert CNN has been doing and paid for by Dangote group nearly every ten minutes daily on CNN.

If their assertions are true, is not outta place to mention Nigeria on that list because agriculturally we are backward only peasant famers, low scale farmers will survive. A push factor (attacking the rich) will sprung up because with the current experience on lock down.
I found out that the rich are championing stay at home syndrome so that the virus shouldn't get to them Cos they know that they depend on the lower class for some basic services. On the other hand. The lower class are afraid of hunger virus than the cobit 419 because either way their lives is in danger and So the next line of action is to take over the streets which is a bad idea but only way out cos the elite fail to put things in place and the reality is checking on them.

Sad truth..
God help us

The United Nations,European Union, America etc should find a way to give directly to Nigerians any relief packages they have for Nigerians. Giving it to Nigerian leaders or Nigeria government will not reach to the poor masses.
Let they set up non governmental organization to carry out their humanitarian programs in Nigeria.

What God will kill Old innocent people and leave Evil men and Boko Haram alive??
Why didn't Your God Target specific evil people around the world to punish.

Even killing the medical workers risking their life saving others

Well, my people if you have little money stock up on grains. now.

Some people think it is joke. In east Africa, they did not allow them to fumigate their crops so they have locus invasion (no harvest for this year). Due to oil price crash, our naira has lost values and would continue to. So to import would be hard... The only solution is for our local farmers to be allowed to farm (ignoring the lockdown) and stop the fulani from killing them. Otherwise they would be both recession and famine.

Nigeria is now like tortoise who appears on every animal stories. My point is this, WHY? There are international bodies like the UN, WHO, UNESCO, UNICEF, IMF, and so on, of which Nigeria is a strong member financially and otherwise. Now, my point is WHY were all these things not discussed in their meetings. WHO is coming out now to tell the world that Nigeria's health system is backward. But we have Nigerians representing us there. What are we gaining from being member then?

Nigeria will never face famine.

Is not possible please,

UN must be insane for comparing us with the likes of South Sudan, Somalia and Ethiopia.

We import most of our food and the value of Naira is going down due to the oil market crash. We are not earning 150 million DOLLARS from oil EVERYDAY too so soon civil servant would be in trouble. Fulani and lockdown would not allow local farmers produce enough for the country. Are you sure they would be food to chop in a few months time (if this lockdown is not lifted internationally)?
