that is why it's called service, you serve your fatherland, service year is not all that rosy, believe me I was posted to a village called Ilala, where their market day is once per week, no bikes or transport unless they are dropping someone off, but I still get to enjoy it to the best of my ability.

First of all, apart from my ppa, where I was posted to, I tried looking for another side work and in this whole city, no reasonable job opportunities..The one I saw expected me to work 7-6pm and pay me 6k..As per what??

It's unsafe too.. Unlike Lagos where I could easily walk back home by 11 pm and still have peace of mind ( I am not saying that I am planning to stay outside until 11pm tho but just giving example) but once it is 8 pm, your heart is about to jump out of your soul..

Language barrier too..My ppa too is expecting full dedication and not ready to pay you for all your good works and headaches after teaching.. Paying 2k and still complaining. They never provided anything required by Nysc and not like I depended on them tho but they are just greedy people that want to use you without being appreciative..

Nothing like recreational centres to relax on your free days. No malls, no gym, it's not safe to go for morning runs too, weather is too harsh for my skin and I am totally dark now ( I am naturally light skinned)..

The guys are mostly sex starved monkeys.They turn every conversation to sex..Their girls sef..I have nothing to save about them..

I have to be careful of what I eat too.. I was admitted in February because of food poisoning..

I actually have a lot to complain about but maybe because I am used to Lagos life..But even in Lagos, I rarely go out but when I want to go, I usually have a place to visit unlike here sef..

I went to camp with big novels to keep me busy. Many Corp members tried to date me. Without meaning to be immodest, I was good looking, still am. One of them was persistent, Lekan. Handsome and rich but I didn't give in. He later settled for ordinary friendship.

Just few days before I left for camp, I'd read in one of the dailies, the shameful sexcapades of CMs in camp either with their fellow CMs or NYSC staff or even soldiers. Stories of CDs littering the parade grounds, quickies in unholy places. .. and I said I'm never going to be part of that

And it did happen. In our camp, some CMs were punished and disgraced openly. Some for doing quickie and some for daring to sneak out to go clubbing.

How can you be new in a place and the next thing is sleeping around? Mtcheeeew for some people.

...I had this angry look when I found out that i was posted to serve in Katsina.. I hated everything around me including the girl that printed the call-up letter out.

So I started planning on my long trip to the wilderness, where I was not known.. I got everything on my bucklist, from the white shoes to the waist bag.

The journey was never to be imagined as I joined some other CM's in the Benue Links 18 seaters bus crawling to Katsina.

Well, we got there at about 11:40pm (Nigeria Time) and I most confess, the camp was so beautiful, interlock, tall buildings, fascinating parade ground, street lights and spacious.


Meet some CM's there and the ritual of getting to know each other began... I was struggling to hijack a bed space at the boys hostel when one young lady tapped me to help her with her bucket of water, on her head, I did that with the speed of light just to concentrate on the bed I want to hijack from one Hausa boy.... But this lady said something that made me lose focus, she said and I quote;

"You're not nice at all" and walked away like a duck fowl... I got the bed space and I marked my territory by spreading my legs and mosquito net immediately.

I saw this lady again at the famous MAMI market, I wanted to let her know that, in Warri, "Furck up nor dey sawa" aggressively, but I remember that I am neither in Warri or Benue State... Surprisingly, she walked up to me where i was trying to negotiate the price of Alomo Bitters, and said;
