I have the PLAN of travelling to Dubai by January 2019 after my NYSC, to work and earn money to feed my family n provide for their needs n establish my mum,dad n wife in a petty business here in Nigeria and also try to at least own a home of my own here in Nigeria..am determined not no live the Dubai lavish life since I no my purpose of going there. I have a friend doing furniture work in Dubai for the past 4years +..we both learn work but from different boss he went when I gained admission tho i don't no what the guy has achieved so far. But he has done marriage with is wife, had a baby too and also rented a 2bedroom for her here in Nigeria. They are all in Dubai as i speak. The question is
1. can I get a job that can help to achieve my dream within 2years of work in Dubai??
2.Am discouraged with some comment I see sometimes about Dubai work
3. Am also hearing about qualification authentication.. how can that help me before going,I study mining engineering, I don't think work of that can b available or can I do something related to my field or still will it help with the work I have learn ?
3.I need a general advice that can be useful to me on going or not going
N...my friend in Dubai once told me to try n get 600-#700k for the travelling and I will earn my money back just after 2month work...lyk meaning I MAY see work work #300k or so abi?
I don't want to regret my action n bcus am still on hard work getting the little money to make the travelling a success ( am not too good in business to b sincere, I wound have stay to invest it here)

I’m going to be honest with you and my response might not be the one you’re expecting but this is not the right time to come and job hunt in Dubai, the whole world is going through a very tough time and a lot of companies in uae have laid off workers due to redundancy cos their operation is down. Personally, I can count 5-7 people that has lost their job due to the pandemic so you see there’s very little chances for new comers..... infact if I have the opportunity I’ll recommend uae government to ban new comers from taking up employment in the country for at least 6months - 1 year so the people that lost their job could probably fill up any new roles or take up new employment.

Is it possible one gets a call center job in Dubai after authenticating his certificate?

Probably not if you don't understand Arabic language. There are some jobs that the addition of Arabic to your English language will give you a stroll in the pack they include call centre, customer care, front desk officer, public relations officer, marketers etc. I have not said you can't get a job as a call centre agent without Arabic but your chances are extremely limited.

Authentication of certificates is one thing but having the requirements for a job which will enable you to perform your duty is more important.

I will advise you to forget about UAE for now or forever and plan your way to European or American countries. This is your best bet. UAE is no longer as it used to be.

To be honest with you, forget about UAE for now. Your agent is already starved for money during the lockdown, he only wants to collect your money and add you to the list of those who are already lamenting by promising you paradise in UAE.

There is economic downturn due to corona virus issue across the globe, coming to UAE at the moment is not encouraging. Several thousands of people in UAE lost their jobs, while others have not been paid salaries since March and there is no hope in sight. I know several people who are already planning on returning to Nigeria. If not that Nigerian government added that costs of repatriation are to be borne by individuals, several thousands of Nigerians would have returned home during this lockdown.

It will take a while before the economy pick up. But if you will not adhere to pieces of advice on this thread, you are free to take your decision.

Forget about travelling anywhere until after corona. It appears that corona has not yet taken it's toll on the Nigerian economy, that's why this people don't understand. Most of the people that have jobs in Nigeria still have them. In other parts of the world, it is not so. Many works have stopped because of the coronavirus, as companies are not operating and cannot be piling up salary of work not done. Many have either lost work or being told to stay at home unpaid till after.
There will definitely be recovery though it will be in phases,we just don't know how fast or slow. UAE will definitely fight to get up in record time. Thank God curfew has been relaxed today. I won't really say you should lose hope. Because recruitment will surely fall in again if things get back. But it will be strong competition for the prepared. And I tell you, most Nigerians never come prepared. They just come hoping to be the lucky ones.
If you are among those, just forget it for now. Too much competition. Millions that have 9months visa thanks to UAE government are already on the queue here.

Someone like us that already have employment with the company, my Employment Visa is already been processed by the company. The week the Employment Visa was suppose to be out is when they suspended suspended Visa issuance. So someone like me when the corona ends do you think I would have issue getting my Employment Visa Though I can't communicate with my company directly my agent has been the one talking to me and what he said so far is no problem. I even Thank God it was not out before then, cus they will cancel my visa and I may have to pay for another one.

Firstly, It is your agent that is doing the Visa not the company. He is only using the company name to process your Visa which is the norm. YOU DON'T HAVE ANY EMPLOYMENT YET. You will not have any issue inasmuch as the company has agreed to the usage of their company name to process your Visa.

Secondly, be ready to prepare for three months upkeep (bed space, feeding, transportation, job fees etc) before leaving Nigeria.

Wish you all the best.

Thanks for your response brother. Well I wouldn't wanna argue with you because I know you know more than I do with experiences you already have in UAE while am still here in Nigeria.
I already have employment bro, I signed and thumbprint an Employment offer issued by the Ministry of Labour, its a security company. We will go for SIRA TRAINING and do medical before posting. I think the SIRA training fee is inclusive what they charge. I even have my Labour card approval self. I confirmed and verified all these documents from the website of MOL. In the employment offer my salary was stated, and it includes accommodation and transportation. I also tried my best to do some research i chatted the number on the employment offer letter the person responded, he is like a PRO for the company he said what he does is preparing offer letter for the company, so i told him to help me get the number of someone i could contact from the company so managed to give me someone number that partner with the company. But the man was forming big man he didnt reply my messages, then i now remember some of this company don't communicate with individual they only talk to registered Agency recruiting for them. My friend working as a security in Dubai was also scared of me not to be dumped, until I sent him my Labour Approval that carries my photo even with that he was not convinced cus he thinks it can be photo shop until he now showed his Supervisor at work to confirm then he now said its genuine.

When I was coming to UAE I had every document you claimed to have as well.

TAKE YOUR MIND OFF THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE A JOB ALREADY. Your agent cannot bring you in without using a company, hence, he is using the security company. You will understand better when you arrive in UAE. There are some truths your agent won't tell you until you arrive. But in other to give you a safe landing that is why I am giving you AUTHENTIC INFORMATION.

If the Security Company were the one that employed you directly, you will have access to communicate with them. The 'likely PRO' you claimed to have spoken to is a friend of your agent. Only HR officer can communicate on employment related issues and you will have access to their official email address and phone number.

I have not told you that he did FAKE documents for you. But when you arrive and it comes out that you have a job as you claimed, GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

Take care.

Sir, Instead of you to apologize for your ignorance for sharing rumors of unverified information you are still proving stubborn thinking your own thoughts is right. Sir, this is social media millions of people have access to this particular website Nairaland so if you are not careful and you post any information with no reliable source gullible people like you can be misled sir because within short time they will start disseminating it to people that doesn't have access to verifying information online. Rumors spread faster. Do you know how much UAE in particular would have lost in this lock down? Do you know how many people use to enter UAE everyday? Do you even have an idea that they generate so much from visitors when they visit their countries? Abi you think those tourist attractions and other things are meant for the citizens to just view and snap pictures? They are making all efforts to ensure the disease abates so that they can resume to their normal activities, you are here guess sir. So it doesn't cost you anything to apologize for that wrong information and move on nobody will beat you for it. Don't be adamant sir. Let's be guided!

Cheers...

Ramadan 2020: Alert police if you see begging activities in UAE
Ismail Sebugwaawo
ismail@khaleejtimes.com
Last updated on April 26, 2020 at 03.16 pm

Has begging increased in your area during Ramadan? Community cooperation is vital to stopping the begging trend, the Abu Dhabi Police have said. "People are urged to report any illegal activity to the police by dialling 999."

Officers said beggars usually increase during Ramadan as they want to exploit people's generosity. "Begging is a societal scourge that detracts from the civilised image of any society. They have the potential for fraud and are out to cheat people and cash in on their generosity.

"Beggars are taking advantage of people's sympathy during the holy month by making-up stories such as the lack of food, basic needs and school fees, due to loss of jobs and other reasons because of the current Covid-19 situation, to get money from them," they added.

Anyone caught begging will be dealt with and punished in accordance with the law, warned the Abu Dhabi Police. "The government has put in place official channels for charity, and those affected by Covid-19 must register with these institutions to ensure donations reach them."

Efforts have been intensified by the Abu Dhabi Police to promote people's awareness about the negative effects of begging during Ramadan, through social network sites and other media outlets. "An integrated security plan has been rolled out across police stations in Abu Dhabi to ensure public safety and security and prevent bad behaviours. Special teams have been set up to carry out inspections as part of a police crackdown on begging during Ramadan," said the police.

For people like visman. It will interest you to note that things that you normally do and get away with in Nigeria can earn you jail term here. So don't come and start shouting racism, they hate Nigeria, they don't like black. Learn and unlearn past uncivilized behaviour. You're in the abroad, lol. Youve barely spent 3months, you're forming. Okay oh

Bro. Just because ur agent played a ticktaka on you doesnt mean there isnt a real employment visa package. Infact 2 people close to me and a nairalander on these thread went through employment visa from nigeria and everything was stated as it is on there employment visa which was stamped and signed before there visa came out. Dont always believe there are no real employment packages. There is and only for those who sabi correct link. Although, it might be costly but still worth it.
