A shared a story on twitter of how someone travelled from Lagos to Ibadan during this lockdown.

The vehicle left 4am, and the fare was 4k(instead of 800-1300), and the driver was a military personnel.

Corruption will definitely help Covid-19 spread faster in this country

People would definitely exploit the system where possible,it's normal in times like this.

Wait till Monday to see the prices ordinary nose covers would be sold. Prices are already going up,I bought 300 bucks for one piece which as at early last month was 2 for 50 bucks grin

I dont even know if its safe to go out if the lockdown is lifted.

Left to me, the government should do more for the citizens.Provide more palliatives and increase testing. But removing the lockdown is a disaster waiting to happen.

The best bet is to lift the lockdown. Increase access to testings, invest heavily in healthcare by standardising the system, massive public sensitisation about Covid-19 and possibly sanctioning stigmatization.

Keeping people at home any much longer is calling for chaos. The lockdown has already been partially lifted unofficially cos people are moving about unhindered.

If you are waiting for govt or anyone to tell you whether it's safe to go out or not, then u will wait at home forever, however utmost discretion is advised.

Nothing will happen if that lockdown is suspended.
Mortality rate of covid in Nigerian is 3% currently and I believe it’s way lower than that cos anybody that dies is automatically covid positive.

Inflation has already set in. We need our economy back on.

We might have to make do with personal protection henceforth.
Lockdown has not achieved any result IMHO.

Lol
I sincerely pray nothing go happen if the lockdown is suspended. And i dont understand why we think this virus cant kill people here.
If its because of skin color, blacks wont be dying anyhow in USA. If its because of weather temperature, Iranians wont be dying anyhow.

Until the government has done enough testing of its citizens, na joke we dey. Lagos state has not even tested 1/1000th of its residents.

IMHO, a disaster is about to happen if the lockdown is lifted.

So Lagos has not tested 1/1000th of its people and the testing started when the lockdown started. How many days into the lockdown now?
If we are waiting for them to test everyone before they suspend the lockdown, then we should be looking at nothing less than 6 months of lockdown which is not possible.

Lifting the lockdown and intensifying other means of protection will definitely work.

We can't go further with lockdowns that is not even working my brother

Do you really think the 80000+ people that have died in Italy and USA were not careful enough? Or they didnt protect themselves?

Here, we jampack ourselves in buses. Our markets are crowded and so on. How can we really protect ourselves?

Like i said, its all man for himself if the lockdown is suspended. It will be disastrous, except Heaven says otherwise

Iranian weather isn't exactly same as naija, Yankee blacks don't get same diet as Nigerians, the former have the worst diet imaginable.

Corona virus isn't has bad here as in those foreign countries not for anything but pure mother luck, nothing more.

If the virus was so bad, don't u think there would have been full blown crisis by now in Nigeria with dead bodies everywhere as we are seeing in Ecuador considering our humongous reputation for abysmally failing in everything.

It's 3 months already since the index case and we still have manageable deaths and cases. Our government are only just creating panic so as to fleece the system as much as they can.

That's thoughtful of you.
Should we then continue till everyone is tested? 17mil+ in Lag, just 8k+ or less tested, almost a month.
Testing kit finish for Kano of 14mil+

Seriously, it's not safe but we can't continue with the lockdowns. Nigeria is slow with the testing. Revenue fell

Right from the onset I said it that the lockdown won't remedy anything about the virus it will only make matter worse even.

Lift the lockdown and let the citizen observe these roles.

1.Carry out massive sensitization on how to prevent the spread of the virus
2. No shaking of hands
3. No huging of strangers, colleague or friends. Only partners are allowed to hug provided they're healthy and without the virus.
4. Everybody should make use of facemask which will help stop saliva while speaking in public.
5. No spitting Or blowing of the noise on the road Or in public places unless into a gutter.
6. No dancing in parties, clubs and religious gathering to help hinder sweating.
7. Buses should not carry standing and 3 persons in a row on 14seater buses.
8. Financial institutions should make sanitizers available for every customers making use of its ATM, same should apply to every organisation.
9. Report or call the authorities if you have or suspect anyone having systoms of covid 19.
10. Obey all the comandments, and see how the virus die a natural death.

That's why I said it's a disaster waiting to happen.

So far, suspending it is most likely the only solution, but na to hope for survival remain grin

In the months of February and March, Iran had weather pattern similar to Europe. This happens year in, year out. Sub-Saharan African weather is not the same with most countries in the Middle East. It snows in Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, Afghanistan. You just can't use these countries as basis of comparison when it comes to our own weather.

I do believe the hot and humid weather here inhibits the spread of the coronavirus to some extent. It could be slowing it down.

The lockdown has to be suspended to avert further social and economic upheavals. People should take all necessary precautions when they are out. For those people that are afraid, they can remain in their houses. The truth is, the virus may never go away until a cure or vaccine is produced, certainty not in Nigeria. We can't continue living this way.

Another thing I'm considering about this mode of contraction of the virus. ABBA kyari was outside the country, he contracted the virus outside the country. When he got back, before developing any symptoms of the virus, he was with many delegates, the elites, so to say. They shook hands, talked, and the contact was close. We have not heard 60% of them contract the virus. How come they were not infected? Most of the people who died of this virus are returnees if you look into it well.

We need to study that mode of transmission. Same goes to Atiku's son

Texas is hot but does not have the same level of humidity with what we have here. Humidity and hotness, they both play a role in how some of these viruses behave, I believe.
