I believe it doesn’t apply to all cars. imagine am buying Toyota Corolla 05/06, should I expect to see keyless or GPS or Traction ?

Keyless entry is even available in 2003 model of cars.


2005/2006 model of Toyota corolla has remote control and that's keyless entry.

Airbag is available in all American cars except when damaged by accident.

Same with Antilock brake system

Toyota Corolla 2002 is for sale at Ibadan. Only used for 3 months in Nigeria. Almost Tokunbo. Nothing to fixed. Manual transmission

Tips to buying new car that will last long:

1. Buy a car that is cheaper to maintain and repaired when it breaks down. Go for Toyota or Honda products (don't go for Honda Odyssey).

2. Buy a car with less electronics. Key fob, power lift this n that is good but when the car starts having electrical problem..it will violate rule no 1.

3. Don't buy a hybrid car. Yes hybrid gives u a lot of fuel economy but when they break down, parts are scarces and very expensive. Remember say na 9ja u dey..even in developed countries.. hybrid car mechanics are hard to find.

4. Buy a car with appreciable ground clearance if u are going to be riding in areas with bad roads.

This are features to look for when buying a moderately new cars of Less than 5years. This thread is not applicable to status of 90% of Nigerians, so please do a fresh list that fits the present situation in Nigeria.

Now in a real economic situation like many of us have found ourselves, the real features to look out for are:

1. The suspension system of the car

2. Four plugs engine

3. Fuel economy

4. Second hand value

5. Mileage

6. Duggedness on our Nigerian roads.

Anything else comes secondary. In fact I still prefer manual cars because it gves me that feeling of being actively engaged and not the idle state an automatic puts you in.

After driving my automatic ride and enjoying the comfort it offers, I swear nothing on earth will make me drive manual car again in my life!

Nice, but can all this be found in normal Nigerian cars that hardly have air conditioner.?
