Last Dance. Waiting for Episodes 3 and 4! This series should shed more light on why MJ remains the GOAT

Throughout this series one thing you would observe is that Michael was gracious, respectful and kind to the media. Despite the repeated questions surrounding his future, he always spoke with respect to them.

Haha but the way he always roasted Jerry Krause both in public and private.

It's good that the terrible job Jerry Krause and Jerry Reinsdorf did running that organization is really coming to light. And fitting too that they have had no success whatsoever since he left

Rodman was one crazy fella. Sounds obvious but when MJ cannot find you in Vegas then there is a problem.

Jerry Krause desperately wanted to be a part of the inner caucus. He felt threatened by Phil's popularity and how close he had gotten with MJ/Pippen/Rodman. I can't understand for the life of me why he would rock the boat in the middle of the season by saying Phil will not return the following season. I mean, he could have waited until the end of the season and that just backfired because Michael is as loyal as they come. This man would have been celebrated today if he did not get jealous. I mean, he got Phil, saw the potential in Pippen, and was the brain behind bringing Rodman from the Spurs but got overzealous.

Don't forget, transitioning from Doug Collins to Phil was not easy for MJ. Under Doug, Michael had the ball most times. The ball always found a way to Michael and that was Doug's strategy but Phil came in with the triangle which basically moved the ball around, meaning MJ was having fewer touches and his PPG dropped but he understood it was the best for the team and bought in.

It is funny because MJ warned them not to allow his take that 48 hrs break. lol. But when the GOAT knocks on your hotel door very early in the morning, you know the party is over! grin

80's and 90's players were really wildin. The Bulls used to be the traveling cokehead circus, Len Bias OD'd on coke two days after being drafted

In Rodman's case na Carmen Electra box hypnotize am

Rolling with the 90s bulls and MJ will bring out every insecurity and self doubt you have. Even just from the interviews you can tell Krause had a self esteem problem. That shot at Phil was more fear than stupidity - how will you fire a coach that goes 82-0? Because he has threatened your sense of self worth.

You know whats sad? The man is dead and he is still getting no love - pride does a different level of damage to people. I should add that I feel some type of way about bagging on a man who cant respond. It would have been nice to get his perspective 2 decades later

Jerry Krause suffered Napoleon complex. And worse still was backed an opportunistic owner who stumbled on an all-time great. Whose basketball ability raised the value of his ball club by at least ten fold.

I don't quite understand why a GM was so eager to hog the spotlight and so anxious to rock the boat and try to fix what was not broke. I look at a team like the Spurs. Who is RC Buford? Most people don't know.

This is not baseball or American football. Your success is heavily reliant on players yet the owner and GM insisted on underpaying them despite bringing you 6 titles in 12 seasons

I think it was part Phil and part Doug. I don't believe Phil would have done anything were he Bulls coach between 84 and 88. They were a terrible squad.

Doug had already reached the ECF before Phil became head coach. They were certainly making progress. Bear in mind they were the only team that beat the Pistons in 88/89. They swept everyone else

The man went out of his way to antagonize this team. It's hard to feel sorry for him when he constantly tries to hog the spotlight to himself.

I am not really a fan of canonizing someone just cause they are late. Nobody is labelling him an evil person or accusing him of a criminal offense. However a lot of people didn't know just how big of a role he played in dismantling that team. Nothing wrong in highlighting this

I have to agree with you about bagging a dead man but it was obvious he saw Phil as the barrier between him and the recognition he thought he deserved. He wanted to be at the center of the hype along with Phil/MJ/Pippen. If you ask me, I would say he thought he could do Deja Vu! Remember, Doug Collins was fired during the season, Phil was hired and panned out well, so he thought he could repeat the same but I guess he underestimated MJ's loyalty to Phil.

It was mostly Phil if you ask me. When Krause brought Phil in from the CBA I think, he was hired as an assistant and he spent more time with Tex Winter who is the originator of the triangle offense. Tex was acknowledged as one of the best offensive brains in basketball at that time and was a technical staff under Doug Collins. Tex tried to sell the triangle offense to Doug severally but Doug was having none of it because like you said and we all know, they had the GOAT on the roster, so it was easy to just pass the ball to MJ and make sure he had the last shot.

Phil comes in as an assistant and is spending a lot of time with Tex talking about the triangle offense which Phil had never heard about. Phil bought the idea after several months of understudying and learning the specifics with Tex. When Doug was fired and Phil hired, Phil introduced the Triangle to MJ and the team. MJ alluded that it was tough but he knew it was best for the team if the ball moved around. That was how Pippen blew up as he had more touches and with MJ supporting him, he felt more comfortable.

They were making progress but could not get over the hump with Doug because the Pistons knew they had to roughen up the Bulls and make sure Michael is all they worried about. All of that changed with Phil. Phil made the Pistons worry about more than just MJ, also, Phil convinced MJ to bulk up and man did he become immovable after he bulked up.

I have the same mindset about IT because he is among the very few who have earned the right to take shots at the GOAT. People say he has changed his story way too many times but I can’t judge the man for that because his argument that the Celtics walked out on them while a free throw was taken is legit. In the same vein, the GOAT was a good sport because every time he lost to IT and the Pistons he went round and congratulated them. IT has always been a tough cookie, the man played a finals series with a broken ankle, I mean a visibly ruptured ankle... I have nothing against IT but immense respect!

Lmaoooo he's still salty at MJ even though MJ gave him his due props as the 2nd best PG of all time.

Who will break it to Isiah that Magic and other dream team members didn't want him on the team? Is it Jordan's fault that he had such a terrible personality so much so that neither the coach (Pistons coach btw) and other members of the team couldn't stand for him

I think I would have agreed entirely if the Bulls were not winning while Scottie Pippen was in his prime. Then we can solely say the Triangle and Phil Jackson was the sole reason for the Bulls to become dominant.

Remember Pippen was drafted 87 season. 87/88 was his rookie year, 88/89 they made conference finals while Pippen was still an average Joe. And lost to the Pistons who were far and away the best in the league. In fact they were the only team that avoided a sweep

How much credit is due to the Triangle and Phil Jackson vs how much credit is due to the maturation of Scottie Pippen and the Bulls will forever be moot
Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 12:03am On May 02, 2020
up and coming is kind of an undervaluation, Man. grin. He won the MVP in 1987/1987 season and had averaged over 30 points per game 5 consecutive seasons prior to the 1990/1991 season . Although I agree with the fact that they beat him up, with some help from the referees. Besides, it is said that Isiah was injured during that 1990 season(regular). If he was healthy maybe that could have affected the outcome of the finals(at least they don't get swept). grin.

Led the league in scoring
Led the league in steals
Made1st Team All NBA
Slam Dunk Winner

Yes, they were winning but they could not get over the hump until Phil arrived with the triangle and they won their first title in 1991. If you ask me, you can not isolate Pippen's maturation from MJ's influence, that is one strong information I have learned since watching the documentary. Not like I was unaware but it just grounded my belief even more.
Pippen had the body but man was a chicken when he first came into the league, to which the Pistons even alluded to that. The same way you can not isolate Pippen's growth to the triangle because it was perfect timing during his maturation process and Michael's resolve to win a title overtook his desire to win individual accolades as he was tired of losing to the Pistons.

He's a salty old man. He really needs to search himself and ask himself why Magic, Bird, Malone, Daly didn't lobby to get him back into the team.

Magic was his friend and it's rumored Isiah was spreading rumors about his sexuality when he was diagnosed with HIV

What I find the most hilarious in all this is that Bron fanboys who swore Isiah was old and washed when the Bulls beat them are now suddenly arguing that Isiah deserved to make the team in 92. Lol which is it?
