What Are Some Of The Things You Learned In Life As You Grew Older/mature? by Numero9(op): 6:20pm On Apr 28, 2020
Well, I've realized a few things in my early 20s. Most of us at some point in our lives were practically foolish only to learn through time (as we grow older) and experience. Mine below;

1. At 18, everybody craves for SeX. Some control thier urges till marriage, but the majority loose it along along the way (before marriage).

2. Everyone craves for appreciation and attention.

3. Seduction and flirting is fun, until someone unattractive is doing it to you.

4. With the increasing number of breakups in relationships, I think alot of people jump into it for selfish reasons.

5. If you give in your all in a relationship, you'd end up making the other person emotionally lazy!

6. Religion is man-made.

7. It's easier to find to find a girl/guy to flirt with. But difficult finding a partner to settle down with.

This are some of mine.....what's yours?

Life is not to be taken seriously ... You are not important if you only take the time to see the big picture... You are not even a speck of dust in comparison to the universe so why let ego give you a false sense of self ? When in a 100 years you will be gone and largely forgotten ..

Live life to experience and most importantly create memories in the minds of those you love and who love you ...

@Numero9:

1. God is real
2. To always always be true to yourself;
3. What goes around, comes around. Life is turn by turn;
4. To always put your best and more in every thing you do;
5. To have self-love, self-confidence and a great deal of self-esteem;
6. Your co-travellers in life (marriage, friends, family) matters a whole lot. Choose WISELY;
7. Always be grateful and appreciative.
8. Your calling/purpose is different from your job or source of livelihood. Find your calling and fulfill it. While you might place your calling above your family, never place your job/work above your family.

I have started writing an epistle grin

4 & 5 contradict themselves.

We have little control of our lives, what will be will usually be.

Family is important along with good friends. They are the only ones who will be there when the chips are down.

Treat everyone nicely, even exes, it's a damn small world.
Re: What Are Some Of The Things You Learned In Life As You Grew Older/mature? by Hathor5(f): 8:48pm On Apr 28, 2020
Not to sweat the small stuff.

Appreciate and enjoy all I have, big and small, because everything/everyone can be taken away in the blink of an eye.

Almost everyone thinks they are smart.

Kindness pays.

To enjoy my own company. I am with myself 24/7.

We should not judge others too quickly. We have not walked in their shoes.

To be intuitive and counterintuitive.

And much much much more ...........................................

Adults aren't 'mature' by default. Mentally, a lot of them aren't any different from the child version of themselves, just taller, older looking obviously, but forced into 'responsibilit-ing' (literally), but a lot of it is just optics

They are a mental body of too many yesterdays.
As a corolarry, being an adult does not always amount to one being truly wise..

Life is short and death is inevitable.
Family is the most important social sector.
Forgive always and be happy.
Put in your best in all you do.
Be at peace with God and serve HIM!

"Some" not "All". I only stated that which is obvious. Read to understand, not to cram.

On Nairaland I've learned that:

The fact that a post/comment has a high number of "likes", doesn't reflect it's truth or validity ...neither does it mean it's the smartest, most reasonable point made.

So many foolish comments have gained traction simply because they are on the front page!
Re: What Are Some Of The Things You Learned In Life As You Grew Older/mature? by Nobody: 11:51pm On Apr 28, 2020
Quite a lot.
You can be 20 and live like you are 60. Conversely, you can be 60 and live life like you're 20. Experience is the difference.

There are no sensu stricto rules to life. life just happens.

There are several YOU's with different ideologies and thought process. Just look back in time and see how far you've come

Good people don't always get good endings and bad people don't always get bad endings. At least in this world.

We are always quick to judge who is good and who is bad. But in our case we settle for "victim". Even after knowing this, we still do it.

In this world of black and white, there are many greys. And you're just another grey patch— even if you enjoy the thought of being special.

Death has been in existence since life. Still, it comes as a surprise.

Goodbyes are always hard but inevitable.

Life is not child's play

Most people pretend

If you have good relationship with family and at least a friend you're blessed

Fortune is from God

Humility preserves

The gentle inherit the earth

Wisdom is profitable

Pride is dangerous

Learnt a lot in this life. Learnt that sometimes people are just people. They made up stuff inside their head to make things seem like realistic.

Blaming people for stuff that is not at fault just to make themselves feel better about themselves and to make the other party feels worse.

This honestly bothers me cause we never know how deep words can cut people. For that, having extra caution with words that we're about to spill from our mouth is very crucial for the wellbeing of humankind.

I meant it is not necessarily tied to the ministry.

E. G. Someone can have the calling of refurbishing drug addicts and sending them back to school.

Happy new years Uncle B.

You keep sneaking in and out tongue

Some people do not know how to thrive for balance.

So if they want to place something above their family, it better be their calling e.g. Apostle Paul them them and not a job/living.

Unfortunately, only a minute few will ever fulfill their calling or purpose. Most are just chasing the wind under the guise of 'working, earning a living or becoming independent'.

I still think the family is the first ministry sha.

I don't sneak. It is you that disappeared cool angry

The family is the basic unit of life if I may put it that way. When an assignment is committed to a person, it is not to put the family unit in jeopardy under any circumstance. Anyone that chooses to have a biological family cannot put his calling above his or her family as it is a recipe for disaster. Like you put it, the balance is the key and I do know that grace is always available in abundance for it.

There is no evidence that Paul had a nuclear family unit of his own. Most information available are speculations. Paul has always been a journeyman even before his conversion..

I will send you a mail if you have not changed your email.
