This redmi note 9 can't shoot 4k videos. What kind of phone is this bikonu? Let's wait for their 10x version first. Since I heard of these note 9 series early January, my love for RN7 and RN8 dropped but now eh, my love for RN8 has returned oo. grin

Redmi Note 9 cannot shoot 4k? Where did you hear that?

From the event today, RN9, RN9s and RN9 Pro can all shoot 4k. They said so when talking about the 4K Frame mode. Please, don't misinform people. If you're unsure, fact check.

Modified: Kimovilcheck and GSMArena have conflicting Video capture resolution. I am unsure which is correct right now.

bro, he literally just said so in his 'Public Service Anouncement' post.

Global Note 9s = Indian Note 9 Pro
Global Note 9 Pro = Indian Note 9 Pro Max
Another RN5 saga
R5+= Indian RN5
RN5 AI = Indian RN5 Pro

Consult my Public service announcement post. And read specifications yourself.

True. I just checked and saw that. It stated 4K on Kimovilcheck. Review units should be out by next week. I think the issue is from the new SoC.

The Helio G80 can shoot 2k according to MTKs website. So, I think the G85 should be able to shoot 2k at least, if not 4k. I'll update with new info when I find it.

Apologies

I trust Kimovil specs over Gsmarena most atimes. Gsmarena that don't /hardly update their specifications after release.

That mtk g85 chipset is not even in Mediatek's website. The g70 and g80 chipsets which are similar chipsets also don't support 4k videos.

I modified the original response.

The SD665 supports 4k video capture, and the RN8 does as well. Why would the RN9 be nerfed this much in video encoding? Is it a must to use Mediatek? They could've stuck a SD675 in it and called it a day. undecided

1. Post Battery graph of your phone. If you are using MIUI 11 change Ranking to Details.

2. What charger are you using to charge your phone?

3. Do you have pending system updates?
Thanks for your input.
1.Yes I'm using MIUI 11. But i don't know how to change ranking to details.
2. I'm using the charger that came with the phone.
3. Yes I have some pending updates. I took a screenshot of the pending updates.
Also I took a screenshot of the battery graph.
Thanks so much for your help.

RN9s - 78,800 for 4/64GB

Redmi 10x is the rumoured Chinese variant of the Redmi Note 9.

Hv u updated the latest mi9t mui 11.0.5.0? If you have please how's the user experience

The update is okay, the battery drain issue has been sorted, and it's a smoother experience. Try downloading the full update package and manually update. The force restart your phone severally times for it to settle in.

I now get an SOT of btw 10-12hrs depending on usage and screen brightness but averagely 10hrs

Guys, the SD 720G on Note 9S and Pro is 8nm, while the MTK G85 on the Note 9 is 12nm.... What's the Difference?, does it mean the Process Technology on Note 9 is better because of the higher nm?

Not at all, in microchips technology the smaller the size(transistors) the more efficient they are.
If u can make a transistor smaller, you can double the operating frequency with lesser power consumption by doubling the no of transistors in a space. Generally the smaller the chips are the more power efficient and more processing power the manufacturer can squeeze inside it.

Let me give u example, if transistor is 30nm ( nanometre) and another is 5nm and you have about 100 nm space to work with. You will only fits in about 3units of 30nm transistor while you can fits in 20units of 5nm transistors in thesame space. In that aspect u have multiplied the power of such IC or if u dont need the output power of 20units of the transsitor, u have a whole 85nm empty space to perform the same function.

So smaller transistors means smaller IC and smaller IC means less bulky gadgets, less power consumption and better efficiency.
