For those still collecting salaries whether half or full or cut to any percentage or doing some lock-down business, don't forget to set some money aside for your investment. Little is more than nothing when it comes to investment. With the current realities and for those that are risk averse I will recommend Abacus Money market fund - AMMF or Vantage Guaranteed Income Fund- VGIF both are managed by Investment One. Check my signature for my contact and link to open account online. You don't need cash to open account.

Please I want to ask. After depositing money as a newbie in Stanbic MMF, once my money appears in the account, do I need to do anything after that? Cause I deposited 470k since last month and all I am seeing now is just extra 2k profit. I don't understand why this is happening.

Maybe I'm not getting it right. So in other words, what do I do when my money reflects in MMf account? Thank you.

U simply don't need to do anything...
The interest accured should be paid into d bank account info u must have provided which u can use for ur needs @ d end of every quarter of the year..
Likewise, ur interest should be added to ur initial 470k and compounded @ d end of every quarter too... This depends on either options u must have selected @ d time of filling the form... U can get in touch with ur account officer if u would like a change to any effect to whatever suits you

You are scared of your #100k while there are people that had over #2million in their mutual fund before the corona issue started and during the corona issues and they didn't blink.

They market is going normal though on 4-5% interest per annum

No problem. I will expect your call.
Though Abacus and VGIF are both mutual funds. They differ in their class of assets. ie the assets the funds are invested in, rate bench marking and method of returns and payment. Both are good for risk averse investors.
You can actually open the two accounts at the same time using the link. No cash needed.

Mine wasn't successful at all. No deduction from my bank account.

Always do direct bank transfer before 12noon if you want same day value.
If you use card and the transaction was successful, you will get debit alert on your bank account sometimes after two days
