I remember when I thought the hug emoji � meant “I don’t know”, for some reason I can’t ever tell.
I would use it almost all the time. And I I loved using it. For a very long while too. This continued until my friend asked why I always ended every sentence during arguments with hugs? Meanwhile I had been imagining myself at my most contrary with all the ‘I don’t knows’ I had been dishing. Would use it either alone or with the rollingeyes emoji to convey, well you get the picture, but definitely not hugging.
I remember calling a male friend and asking him how often I hugged him in my posts. He said they were too many to remember.
Mortification is not enough for what I felt, considering how, when and where I had been using the emoji.
Just know I had used it so very generously, wantonly, improperly AND inappropriately: with married men, senior colleagues, when fighting, when trying to be uncaring, difficult, savage or flippant, etc and would have continued till eternity if not for my friend I guess. LoL.
