thundafire:they got paid before now through subvention from the ministry of education. Here the University could plan for permanent and visiting staff as the case arises. |

nsiba:Are you as financially autonomous as these ones? If you want autonomy you should generate enough revenue to pay your bills. |

nsiba:You need to purge yourself of the lazy mentality of entitlement. You call yourself lecturers but can't take your universities out of the woods. Just to be going on strikes 10 times every year. Nigerians have lost interest and respect for you. Even middle income parents now send their children to Ghana and Benin republic for education. If it's to sell handouts and sleep with students, you won't go on strike. Yeye people When ASUU is not fighting, it is nasu or ssanu. Is this how education is in other countries? |

The truth is that Nigeria is broke. The government is playing around to see where they will borrow money to pay salaries and settle the vagabonds they imported to dethrone Jonathan. Oya, make we Sidon they look because they don't have any policy except money sharing and who should take the lion share. |

nsiba:You have really tried debating with some products of failed primary and secondary education that see no bad reason in the attempt of the government to kill the struggling tertiary education. I wonder what makes them to be bitter against a system that struggle to mould them out of nothing and with the inadequate, outdated and ill equiped teaching environment which they keep blaming ASUU for. They want ASUU to provide teaching materials, build befitting classrooms and hostels, equip the labs and use their salaries to sponsor novel research. They are not aware that the little intervention like TetFund, NEEDS and DTLS are products of ASUU's. I bet some of them don't know what NEEDS and DTLS are all about. Interventions that kept the Universities from total collapse. They viewed about 30,000 ASUU members as corrupt, selfish, randy and lazy. No good elements among them. They see the legitimate Adjunct, Sabatical and Visiting duties as collecting salary in more than one place. They viewed academics just as a normal day job like quarry workers. They never make out time to sit down and go through the reasons for ASUU,s agitation but swallow the propaganda dished out by the government hook line and sinker. So sad but the end will definitely justifies the means. |

engrfcuksmtin:. If ASUU membership is about 30000 then it means total academic professionals in Nigeria could be less than 80000, on government payroll. We have a long way to go |

AAA593:What of NNPC workers; CBN workers; DPR workers; Senators etc. If they’re not willing to put everyone on IPPIS, ASUU should not agree |
