Good evening guys! What’s the Visa prospects of somebody that wants to get a masters degree in a field different from his undergraduate degree?
E.g a Medical Doctor that wants to study master in Biology or Environment science.
Is that a red flag in the embassy? Any body?

I'm sorry I don't have any info about how to get it, I didn't have to apply separately. I'm a PhD candidate btw.

Prospects are 50/50 but it has to be well calculated. Some Visa officer might see it as a red flag if it's not well calculated.

Example, most visa officer will see it as a red flag if a medical doctor is switching to go study environmental science. Environmental science is well below a medical practitioner and the switch should be in the reverse order or on the same wavelength for it to be viewed as a well calculated switch.

I switched from mech engineering to information systems. Both could be viewed to be of the same wavelength and I was already into programming so convincing a Visa officer of my switch was a walk in the park for me.

All in all, it will boil down to how the candidate package everything and how convincing he sounds on the interview. Also the visa officer would be the one to decide if he is convinced it's a genuine switch or a red flag

I got admitted into the same department too. I don’t think there’s any hope of funding now until we get to campus.
I got admitted to WIU as well but without funding...was told funding is only available for returning students...We should talk

I accepted it o.. they said it's due to Covid-19. My only fear is getting a Visa with auch deficit.
And I already port to UK since there had been no funding from US and no admission from Canada, so I only applied to BGSU.
Are u also waiting on other schools?

Please has anybody received I-20 from University of New Haven recently?

I want to confirm if the “name of sponsor” (name on SOA) is written on it. Or if not, what’s written?

Hello house,
I got admitted for masters to Hood college(no funding), Emporia state uni($8k yearly funding), southeast Missouri ($2k merit scholarship). Because of covid19, Southeast proposed optional web only class for Fall semester then on campus for the next semester in spring, web only has a lower tuition of $3k plus for 9 credits whilst campus is $5k plus, my concern is this:
If I go by the web class, would it boost my chances for a visa since I would have earned credits and already a full time student?
I would be traveling with a 5 year old. Is it going to be easy for a grad student with a child? In terms of my classes and his school timing, shared accommodation, etc. please house I need practical and real life responses especially from people already schooling who have classmates with kids and whose spouses did not accompany. Thank you house

I am sure they don’t write the name of the sponsor on the I-20, they usually write "Family funds" and not the name in the SOA, same applies to so many other schools.
