Her over reaction has erased that. If she had slapped the man once or insulted him in different ways, one could see that as true retaliation of the initial from the police as she claimed but she went too far.
In as much as I do not support the policeman slapping in her in the first place, I totally condemned her reaction. I definitely will not praise my wife for such action. Two wrongs don't make right.

As simple as that. Assaulting him for over 6 minutes, even after her neighbors intervened is not rational in any way.

If you watch the video and understand yoruba, you ll know that it was the officer that slapped the woman first. The woman said "you slapped me while eating pepperish food" unfortunately that part wasn't recorded.
So she severally vslapped the Officer back. How does that justify her?

Rubbish post! Why didn't they show us how they first assault the woman, who among the police slap the woman in her own house? What sort of rubbish is that..

And that will make any reasonable person to think that her manner and response to the officer could have give reason to the purported slap she claimed

Lol....... To me I will never ever believe Nigerian police. The woman was making accusations at the police officer that he slapped her. Plus the video didn't start from the beginning of the matter. So my conclusion is those police officers did something to provoke the lady just to get that reaction out of her and then film it.............. Rubbish publicity stunt lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

The attack, irrespective of whatever transpired, was unwarranted. If to say she jam mad squad that night, na different story we for dey read for paper o.

Commend him??

Didn't they hear the part where he slapped her first
Bros, truth be told, if that officer slapped that woman first then I do not believe he will remain like that and be appealing to his boys who wanted to deal with the woman. I think the woman is only shouting "he slapped me" just to justify her frustration but all in all, by the time the woman gets to force headquarter she will blame devil for all this ranting and she may even offer to publicly apologise to the officer (but it may be too late sha!).
The officer on his part kept calm knowing the stories of what happened in Iwo, Osun State and other parts of Nigeria but all the same he needs some commendations for the restraint shown, if senior police officers could show examples like this the junior ones will soon learn to be civil!

I tell you. It's disgusting seeing all these devil's advocates spewing sentimental trash all over the place. She was caught in the act of flouting the lockdown order. Who says the officer can't claim she was resisting arrest and that's how the supposed slap "mistakenly" came about. He could claim the intention wasn't to slap her, but his hand was only deflected to strike her across the face.

She had it coming when she broke the law, in the first place.
Thank you Jare. Just plain and simple. This goes further to address the behavioural pattern among the yorubas who use their beautiful language badly rather than to advantage. The guy is also yoruba, you are at fault obviously not locked down. I mean instead of altercation and undue violence why not in good language negotiate and possibly apologize for wrong doing even the neighbours would not have known about it. What I seems not to comprehend is these stupid solidarity being peddled here in the name of police high handedness and killings. This is not related in any way and don't let us compare apple and orange here. Our women must learn to eschew this kind of behaviour and respect men. Police are now trying to be your friend but with this attitude?

You are a smart guy. The woman step over board by repeatedly slapping the officer. From the clip, after slapping him the first time, he deliberately asked her if she is done. At that point in time the woman would have held on his uniform( however it is crime to hold on to officers' uniform, though I stand to be corrected) and start crying thereby weeping public sympathy to herself. I guess anger had the better part of her. Being a grow up woman, Life experiences would have taught her to employ anger management in situations like this.

The woman was actually slapped by the police before the videoing. But unfortunately, the world will react to what they saw. The woman used her stupid temper to put herself into trouble. She could have held him without slapping him.[/quote]

Women assault police officers the world over.

Not sure why you think people (women in particular) don't behave stupidly in other countries. It's a very peculiar/juvenile African mindset that I've never understood.

It is a crime to slap a uniformed or a security officer like that. She could have simply lodge her complaint rather than taking laws in her hand. If the man takes this up, she will be dealt with ruthlessly.
