I have always told the Yorubas to re-validate any statement from Igbo. Based on the second link you posted which showed the World bank computation of Poverty headcount in the six geo-political zone of Nigeria. The SW has the lowest Poverty headcount and a better socio-economic metrics than any zone.

--First Image: Poverty Headcount Ratio by zone 2004,2014

--Second Image: Number of poor by zone (Note: This is by number and most times depend on population. India will have high number of poor people than Nigeria, but that might not mean India is poorer by percentage) Even in this SW had the lowest number in 2013.
To understand this better, you can see the North East has a lower number of poor people in that stat than even the SW but when you see the percentage metrics you will see NE has lot of poverty.

--Third Image: Middle-Class Households by zone 2004,2013
This showed the SW had the highest middle class in Nigeria than any other zone by percentage

--Fourth Image: Dynamic Poverty Profile by zone 2011-2013
The SW has the lowest number of chronic poor, Transient, and the Highest non-poor people in Nigeria.

Mrvitalis, I am using your own data that you provided and according to World Bank, the SW has the best metrics than any other region and this is not from Yemi Kale. Do you think we won't re-validate the link you posted? Don't ever try to play smart on me coz I always re-verify.

Can you now cover your eyes in Shame?

They are very deluded. The same set of folks whom are reputed to depopulate their region in droves in search of greener pastures, are contesting poverty statistics that aren't in their favour. I think all those selective images they splatter on here, of mansions in the SE have really distorted their senses. The fact remains that the average igboman in the East is planning an exit from the region in search of better opportunities. #Fact. Rural Enugu dwellers are wallowing in steep poverty, yet they will have us believe that the entire state is another Dubai. They will be aright Las Las jawe.

You're yarning cra'p!

You say we're 'reputed to depopulate our region bla-bla-bla'! The only people making a song and dance about this are Yoruba like you that obsess about Ndigbo 24/7! It's like you only feel a sense of fulfilment when you've tried to convince yourself Yoruba are generally wealthier than Igbos....have better and more viable cities and states than Igbos.....and are more 'sophisticated ' than Igbos! While Igbos have realised we cannot reach our full potential in this shithole of a country.....with envious, bigoted peeps like you as compatriots; you and your ilk on the other hand have ambitions in life that only go as far as trying to sustain this lie of a country so you can continue measuring dick with the 'okoros'! You see the political-economy of 'one Nigeria', that tilts in you and the Fulanis' favour, as being good and necessary since it helps you hold down the 'okoros' while you steal advantages over their heads! This is one of the reasons you lot despise Mazi Kanu and IPOB....you see them as inimical to the sustainance of the lie that is Nigeria!

If you wanna take the shi't that just came out of the NBS as gospel without question, you may just as well accept all the election results and census your country has conducted since 1960! I mean, your darling 'one Nigeria' is known for it's trustworthy and apolitical data and statistics so lets take whatever they churn out as irrefutable innit!? smiley

Guy, you are free to reject the stats, doesn't change nada. Your rejection or otherwise doesn't change anything. Igbos are known to believe the most preposterous things anyway. Go ask Kanu's worshippers if in doubt.

What's more preposterous than believing in Nigeria as 'one nation bound in freedom, peace and unity'? Dude, there's no way the incidence of poverty can be higher in Anambra than Osun! smiley

By the way, when is Yemi Kale leaving that position sef? Hasn't he been there long enough....or was he given the job for life?

Bro, na their way. I used to be very gung-ho about refuting every one of their lies but at some point I just had to relax after realizing that upon all their chest-beating, the reality on ground remains constant. undecided I came to the conclusion that their loss of the civil war really messed up their sense of self-worth, hence their nagging need to constantly revalidate their self-esteem by embellishing and exaggerating their achievements while deriding others. That motivation causes them to twist facts in their desperation to project a false superiority. But like I said, nothing has changed after all these years of attempting to demarket the Yorubas in order to make themselves look better than they actually are. They are still the ones rushing us. undecided. Upon all, they are still leaving their 'most developed' region (with all its mansions) in droves to come and hustle in 'brown roof Republic' cheesy. Ain't that something? Nobody except they themselves believe their hype.
But losing a war really shouldn't mess anyone up to that extent. What about Germany that lost two world wars, or Japan. They came out stronger and rebuilt their Psyche.
Our Eastern brothers need to rise from the ashes of Biafra. They need to rise above hate.

Living in a bungalow with brown roof(landlord), I don't pay rent, I eat more than 3 times daily, I have access to health care, education and other social amenities... This is the reality of very poor amongst Yoruba people.

You see those 3 storey buildings in south east how many of their poor indigenes own a land talk less of building a house, feeding nko na war.

Thousands of them are scattered all over southwest, employed as farmhands, some family unit cultivate one plot of undeveloped land planting vegetables they'd sell before they can feed, yet they're all millionaires.

You finally show gratitude that you came to Lagos as refugees, where you have been able to acquire wealth to alleviate the poverty back home.

You finally agree that you were developed in Lagos and not that you developed Lagos, as many of you have falsely claimed.

If you return to your region, where would the source of wealth to sustain your savings come from?

From the same region you fled in your youth without a penny?
