Is it just me or did anyone else noticed that the statement issued did not in any way denied sacking its staffs? because all I can deduce from it was them trying to tell us what we already know using different words.

In one breath they said they did not sack any staff, in another one they said it only affected there outsourced staffs.

This is the point

They are firing outsourced staff.

What difference does it make?

That is it. They are not firing their core staff, but sending back the outsourced staff to their primary employers who would have no other option than to shelve the excess load.

They are just using corporate lingo to bamboozle us, they are sacking those they want to sack, and there is nothing anybody can do about it.

This won't end well.
CBN must have threatened them with force acquisition by alerting investors that access bank is up for sale

When there are confirmations of staff who have received sack letters, u still come out to deny u did. U guys u are denying it now because cbn is halting any sacking process. The truth is u guys have been wanting to sack diamond bank acquired staff and waiting for the slightest opportunity to do that. Well only time will tell.

Yes, you get it.The Diamond staffs have been on edge since last year, because the management has been looking for the opportunity to sack them and close most of the Diamond branches. The Pandemic is now an excuse for them. Forget this rebuttal,if you read between the lines, you will see the excuse to sack in this rebuttal.

Oga no need behaving like Nigeria politicians. You're a businessman and business is strictly for money making. You are simply doing what you see best to maintain your business for the now due to the obvious simple! Major bank transactions have been withdrawals and insignificant deposits because businesses are closed, so how would you make money if your running cost is high. It is the government that has failed the people. In a sane place, they should have been doing everything to keep businesses comfortable buy here, they are looking to businesses to beg from. And the reality is that salaries will be cutdown and many will still be sacked regrettably. Nigeria remained one of the riskiest place to fully depend on one source of income every employee should know that by now.
In other words, you support tha action of the bank in laying off 70% 75% of her staff.

Is the error leading to gross losses not made chiefly by the management of the bank? So, who should pay the price for someone's inefficiency?

They are not sacking their staff indirectly means-- they are not sacking their direct staff, only outsourced staff.

The way those banks treat contract staff ehen. If you have been there you will know it is an experience you may not forget so easily.

Those people no get empathy at all.

Getting a job as an outsourced staff is even better.

What about other Nigerians who are working in ONE MAN BUSINESS OUTFIT where you are not sure of getting paid as at when due.

Useless bank, after the intervention of the CBN mandating them not to sack any staff. Is it by force to dash FG N1Billion just for publicity purpose only? Donating N1B at the expense of that cleaner who earns 15k per month when you don't have the financial wherewithal to do so? Yet, the N1B donated has gone with the winds, cannot be accounted for.

You better put on your thinking cap. Thank God you denied at this juncture cos I listened to the video where your MD categorically made the statement. Laying off staffs at the moment remains a very bad decision, wicked act, bad reputation & image for any serious, self respected & a bank claiming to worth it salt.

This same Access Bank gave out their heart in 1billion naira donation to a witless Government. They turned around to pounce on the hapless workers whose home training and dignity has been flushed into a ceespit due to the nature of the work. They don't even have the right to sack two workers. It is as if they valued making donations than the welfare of their workers.

Were there no discussions or plan to absorb you as a core Access bank staff in all these years? I know some banks absorb contract staff after 3-5 years of working with them, especially for holders of Bachelors degree which I want to believe you're also one.

Denying the obvious is the first requirements being an APC member.Despite the visible evidence they still have the gut to come out and deny,God punish them for donating 1billion when they could have saved that to salvage the situation.

The GMD actually came out with a press statement that they would drop workers(cashiers, cleaners, security men n others), man even said he would take a 40% paycut so what are they denying again. I don't understand. Annoyingly, they were among d useless bunch dat donated to the FG. Same FG dat has borrowed to fight d corona banks donated for dem to fight.
