@Anon123, the OP asked if letter of introduction from employer is important, you said "NO" following your answer to number 1. This information is wrong

@ohizzy, be well informed that letter of introduction is a very important document and should be included in your visa application.

The letter should be in the company's official letter headed paper and should highlight the following -

1. Your job start date,
2. Your job responsibilities and duties with the said company,
3. The number of hours you work per week,
4. Your annual remuneration and benefits,
5. The letter should confirm the fact that you're a bonafide employee of the company and the organisation is aware of your wish to acquire an advanced knowledge in the field of xxxxxx at xxxxxx school in Canada and all necessary assistance should be given to you.
5. The letter should be written by the HR of the organisation and must be duly signed.

Note - With this letter you don't require a employment letter. You can include a study leave letter to further buttress the fact that you would be returning home after studies.

It will end in praise

Sorry Chief.. correction duly noted.

@Frankrobbn1 and friends
Due to the fact that i havent receive any favourable reply from CIC regarding my application and my resumption is suppose to be May 18th and orientation was May4th,I had no option than to defer which i already did.

Now the bone of contention is this:
1.I am scared because i have to build another POF and the money will stay atleast 3Months in my bank account.

2.I can raise the living expense for 1year before september which is my new start date but i am sure i cant raise it until maybe july or august. So can i use one month SOA for the re-application ?

3.Do i need to ask them to defer till January because of the SOA as am self sponsor.

4.Yes i got bvl already no final decision yet but i am trying to have a backup plan.

help a brother !!!!!!

Why don't you provide brief overview about the document submitted for your app, and other information that will enable people to advice you as best as as possible

Frankrobbn1:

Flywire corporation is an international payment facilitator that allows you to pay your Curtin tuition fees securely from overseas, often in your local currency.

Usually, payments arrive the school within 3 to 5 business days. The rate of flywire is also expensive when weighed with the currency conversion rate between Dollar $ and Naira N. More so, when using flywire you will be issued a unique payment reference I.D which looks like this REG6788999 and a five (5) days expiration date. Thus it is highly expected that your bank should carry out the international transaction/payment before the stipulated deadline of this reference number from flywire.

If you have a very trusted and reliable fellow in Canada it will pay you to use the person than using flywire and it will also be cheaper for you and cut over 30k - 50k in naira or more depending on the amount you intend to pay as your tuition to the school in Canada.

It will end in praises.

Good Evening Everybody ,

Please I want you candid advice on this

I want to apply for Graduate Diploma Programmes in Accountancy at the Concordia University but they have a standing rule that an international cannot apply to this course directly except I complete some courses at the undergraduate level
Hence I should apply for Bcommerce to complete those required courses and later will migrate to the Graduate Diploma Programme which is a CPA accredited problem

I want to if this a choice won’t affect my chances of securing a TRV especially when explain to the VO

Please I need your advice before any further step

Thank you

Hello Taiwotosho22,

That will be considered as insufficient funds. Its best if you use a sponsor with a strong financial strength especially if the person isn't related to you. The tuition fees is excluded. Note that you are only required to show funds for the first year i.e. first semester or year and first year LE.

All the best

Thanks so much.
Does it mean using two sponsors at the same time is not the best?

It is actually 8 weeks, which is 2 months for the work placement at Cambrain College for "International BusinessManagement", not 3 months, as I made a mistake.

I have another question, so sorry disturbing you with my back to back questions.

I want to apply for "International Business Management" for January 2021, but the application is closed. Application for September 2020 is still open. How do I go about this ?

Naijaforeigner:

(1) It depends on the College. I think some colleges accept NECO. Not really an issue. Please contact the International office of your preferred school for confirmation.

(2) To the best of my Knowledge, both colleges are good.
Any program that gives you the option of work placement/ Internship/ Coop is always a good one. There is always the possibility of being retained if you impress your bosses.

p.s I think Cambrian college is 8 weeks placement for IGBC. Please double check.

I actually prefer at least 4 months work placement but 2/3 months is not bad as well.

Other things to note when choosing colleges are ease of securing jobs post graduation for students, location (which city is the campus located) and just incase, schools flexibility for tuition payment.

All the best.

Good day family, being following this page for a while and I appreciate what you all are doing . Please I will love to ask some questions, but first of all, I will narrate my history .

I finished secondary school in the year 2011 and gained admission into University, I was given a different course and had to choose from Microbiology, industrial chemistry or Biochemistry .

When I got to 200level, we had our department society week through which I was nominated as an exco, I was to look for any industry or anywhere related to our course where we could gain experience, I travelled to some states in the West and could not get anywhere good, the little available are not ready to accept us then I discovered I might not get a job after my studies, I also remembered how my dad already told me he won't get me a job if I refuse to study medicine. Cos of the threat from home, I wrote Jamb till my 300 level cheesy .

After my discovery, I rather went to learn little business couple with fact that I have been doing little while in secondary school to buy my clothings and other needs as I don't really like asking my parents for stuffs. I started business with little savings with God's grace, also incorporated the company in 2014 after a year of starting, before I finished in 2016, I was already doing business worth 3.1 million naira with zero mobilization fee with my institution and also bought a car at 300level. To cut the long story short. I graduated with 3rd class " Bachelor of science ".

I was mobilized for NYSC in 2017, after the camp, I left and travelled to Lagos to face my business squarely, when NYSC didn't see me, they remobilized me to a south western state on their own, with pressure from Dad, I went back for NYSC last year and I am completing it in 2 months time. Though, I didnt seat there. Business must continue.

I need real time business training and background cos I have lost so many opportunities and underrated so many of my God given ideas, I exposed it and others tapped into them, lost so many clients due to the fact I lack adequate business education, Trying to apply for MBA but my Degree performance can't do it except some expensive schools in USA where my working experience (6 years) could be used instead of Degree cert. I already applied to 3 schools in Canada to study " Bachelor of business administration" and I was told to declare sll my post secondary school records. My waec result is suffiecient for them but they still requested for my university transcripts, maybe cos I declared it. I am 27 years old and I am married.

For study permit, I can sponsor myself by God's grace. The 30k USD for the first year is available. My business can sponsor the subsequent years. Do I have to use my father as my sponsor as his own account is fat with lots of properties in different states. My only fear is that if my dad agreed to appear as the sponsor, if the embassy called him, my dad might deny or refuse to pick his calls, reason for this is that he offered my sister 5 million naira this year to return to our home state to open supermarket which I told her to decline cos he's doing that to separate her from her friend which he presumed to be bad but not true . Please he's not a bad person, he's just principled and strict, anything he wants you to do is what you must do.

What are my chances since I didn't study anything business related courses from onset. What are the things I meed to d to cross all this. My wife will be managing the business in my absence. So sorry for long story. Thanks.

Hello Legacyedition,

Your case is not as complicated as you may see it. Its not compulsory to do a second Bachelor since all you need is the practical and professional ideas. A PGD/C or Post Baccalaureate Degree should be a more suitable choice to consider and endeavour to relate it to your work experience. Since your father is financially sufficient and reliable, you stand a better choice using him as a sponsor. Your first homework and step to take towards your application is to sit down with your dad and have an open discussion with him about your intentions.

Also, with your available personal funds, you have the required funds to be self-sponsored but however after the deductions of both your tuition and LE for the first year determines how sufficient financially you are. Still, its advisable to include your father either as a co/sponsor or a financial supporter. Let me know if its not clear enough.

All the best.

Hello Taiwotosho22,

That's not what I meant. In terms of sponsorship, two is a suitable number but scrutinizing their financial strength put together isn't strong/good enough and sufficient to cover your tuition and LE expenses for the first year.

Cflow10:

If the applicant just finished NYSC in March, and plans to be fully funded by parents, though above 18, is it still advisable to be included? Although what is there isn’t much.

Hello Cflow10,

That of the parents would suffice and it should be well demonstrated otherwise it may result to insufficient funds. Given the personal and employment circumstances of the individual, including a personal BS even if the closing balance isn't in millions won't be used against the individual or application. Though if a reliable source of funds can't be demonstrated by the parents, it will lead to insufficient funds and personal status and current employment situation. On the other hand, the parents can just put in the LE into the account.

All the best

My two cents: from my own experience I found that some schools are willing to waive your educational background if your working experience is solid.

If it is also possible you may check for one or two online courses in business admin you can do or maybe a PGD in business admin from open university to serve as a bridge.

Just apply to many schools, write your SOP as you just narrated the story above (without the personal details of course). You should be able to get at least a graduate diploma from one.

Another thing is that most schools have two types of masters, the thesis based and the course based. The thesis based is usually more competitive so wherever possible always apply to the course based program.

TRV processing time update 05/05/2020

Congratulations to all those who got their approvals so far

We now have a sample of 4 hopefuls and 1 approval. Please if you have applied for a TRV, I would encourage you to share your timeline (which should include; the application date, application route, biometrics request date, date biometrics was done, medical request date, date medicals was done, date medicals was passed, and the current status). If you don't have all this information, you can just share the ones that you have and update the rest as you receive it.

This information would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates.

We have made attempts to "calculate" processing times. (Please note that this is just an average based on the little sample we have. Your processing time may be faster or slower than the average). As we get more samples, I want to believe our calculations would be more "accurate".

Finally, If there is anything you think i should add to the data or calculate from the data, please share with me

I don't mean to say you are wrong, but the instruction is very simply on the CIC page.
If you are applying online, do not print any form, do not sign.

Just put your name as it appears on your passport, then put date. As a final sign, once you are about to submit, they will also ask for sign, inform of full name to certify that all response are correct.

You can read through their instructions. Whichever way, God will make way for us all

I just got admitted into St. Mary’s University with a 2.2. 3.0 CGPA to be precise. The requirement was at least 70% in the last 60hrs.

I read the comments of some gurus here but I kept saying to myself “my case is different” and I trusted God.

I’d say if you can spare the application fee, package your SOP and give it a shot. You never know.

I’m really excited and I look forward to guidance from everyone on my visa application.

Stay safe people, it will end in praise.

Thanks. So i shouldn't print and sign?
