Ethiopia has be fucking up Egypt and there is nothing the international shit can do about it.
WRONG!!!
The concern with Ethiopia is reducing the water levels but Ethiopia didnt block the international river from passage of ships and vessels unlike what you guys plan to do in your fantasy world.

River Niger will be an International water if Nigeria breaks up. Let this sink into your empty skulls

Finally someone with shallow facts worth a reply. First of all, the River Nile flows from Ethiopia to Egypt not the other way round, that's the opposite of River Niger which flows from North to South. Also, Egypt is a coastal nation with enough access to sea. The River Nile doesn't serve as a source of transportation or international connection to Egypt, yet they're making so much noise about it.
Egypt only needs the Nile for minor agricultural and diplomatic reasons.

Now imagine the North with a River Niger as our only access to sea and international waters. What do you think would happen if you mess with it. FULL BLOWN WAR!!!. The war would be fatal and deadly because we have nothing to lose.

Besides, the River Nile is not designated as an international waterway. It's simply a river passing through several countries. Do you know it's the same Egypt that have been resisting the use of the River Nile for transport.

Also your dam would be useless if the North dams our own side of the River to retaliate. You guys are really deficient in education. The River Nike flows from Ethiopia to Egypt not the way you think lol.
You have to charge Bayerebe’s for this lectures...

Their mouth na free way..with tiny brain.. radiating ignorance

I have noticed different types of insults and mockery thrown to we Northerners because we're sharing the same country with a lot of poorly educated literate.

One of the biggest reasons southerners accuse us of loving Nigeria is due to the misconception that Northern Nigeria is landlocked and wouldn't be able to survive as an independent country. This is one of the biggest lies ever told in the history of the world.

Do you know, that if Nigeria separates today, the River Niger according to international water laws would be designated as an international waterway. According to the "1911 Madrid Declaration", all states that share a body of water are physically dependent on each other. This is one of the basis on which the United nations treaty on International trade and development was formed..

According to the United nations convention on law of the sea also known as treaty of the sea to which Nigeria is a member, all landlocked states must be given a right of access to and from the sea without taxation on traffic in transit. This means, that the River Niger must serve as an international waterway whose resources and features would be jointly controlled by all states or countries sharing this body of water.

Do you know that former president Yardua before his demise, embarked on the dredging of the River Niger to provide access to international vessels and ships. I don't know what Buhari is doing right now, but this project would be the priority of the incoming Northern president in 2023.

Some myopic individuals would come and say that southern Nigeria can always block our access to the sea as an independent country. I'll let you know that in the event of separation and designation of River Niger as international waters, any act of blockage or sabotage by any bordering country would amount to an act of war and attract severe sanctions and military repercussions on that state. In the event of any blockage, southern Nigeria would be made to bear the full wrath of the United Nations and a United Northern Nigeria.

Examples of where such situations occur are the Danube River in Europe, the South China sea in Asia and the Bolivian and Paraguay River channels. The river Nile is also a similar but non exact situation due to the harmony existing among countries connected to it.

The use of River Niger as international waters would make the North have similar geography to Malaysia. Do you know that Malaysia is separated by the international waters of the South China Sea. Do you also know that to move between Malaysia means you probably have to cross international waters bordered by Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

My fellow arewa brothers and sisters, do not be deceived by the mockery of those that hate us. The North as it stands today is currently the most blessed region of Nigeria. With our unity, natural and mineral resources, soil, culture, population and landmass, Northern Nigeria stands to be the most developed in event of separation.

Attached below are pictures and maps showing the River Niger, Danube River and water division of Malaysia.

You're big fool, have you calculated the nautical miles according to the UN law? It's just 22km and from the North to Delta State is more than 22km so Mr United-North you're fvcking land locked, if it hurts you too much go and hug transformer undecided

It flows from guinea, forming a crescent on her way through Mali, Niger, Benin into the Atlantic Ocean, and stop saying rubbish that it flows from north to south, if international laws are applied which is not possible Mali, Niger and other northern countries should have invoked The law to have access to the Atlantic and why do you sound like someone on a suicide mission, is there nothing like diplomacy? how do you claim the Atlantic Ocean from far away Kano if there’s a war, you have the sea to maintain your ships or submarine? By the way Atlantic Ocean is not about Yoruba, you’ll have to engage other Niger delta tribe

Did I mention any tribes in my discourse? You're telling me about diplomacy, is it not your fellow southerner that have been drooling with insults and foolish assumptions all over my mention.

Was it not one of you that said the south west would dam the river out of attrition and wickedness. Why Niger, Mali and others never invoked the treaty is non of my business, but I'm telling you that if Nigeria ceases to exist, the North would invoke the law and treaty to gain access to sea.

If you're smart, you would know that many wars in history have been fought over Territorial access to sea. In the face of hostility and enmity to our interests, we would fight a war to its logical conclusion. We certainly won't be the first to do so, neither would we be the last.

First off, who's going to pay for the dredging? It's becoming clearer that Nigeria is going to break-up. I hope it's unannounced and sudden, else the South with be filled with these very literate Northerners hiding in food trucks.

Interesting how different sections are talking about how they will have access to the Sea in the event of Nigeria breaking up. I like this, shows that people are weighing all options rather than the outdated singular option of 'one Nigeria'

Is that the reason your prof said they own access to the middlebelt through right of conquest?

Okay congratulation on fighting your war, after the war, buy your own ships and start northern Nigeria shipping company, by the way river niger is not an international body of water and you can’t relate law governing body of seas to a river

There’s no enmity or hostility, you’ll only have to pay royalties for your goods ship through our port or will it be called northern Nigeria port Incase we divide?

What is the meaning of"exactly not landlocked"?
Seems you want to join the IPOB rats, thinking you too from your inlets can gain access to the coast
Leave out the map concerning Malaysia coz of the fewer countries involve, the Danube brought different parties signing the agreement, where in Africa has such taken place?
Ethiopia would have been very confident not fighting Eritrea for the control of Asmara port, neither would Uganda bother building another path to Tanzania with the way Kenya is dictating to them.
The way Somalis pirates make the India ocean unbearable for vessels, you think ship owners will consider unsafe 'rivers' profitable?
Chad rely on Cameroon and Nigeria
Niger, Burkina Faso Mali rely on Nigeria,Benin,Togo respectively
If the coastline line tribes of Africa all through the time of interactions with the Europeans and Arabians drew the limits of the people of the hinterland and the Europeans, is it under a fail Nigeria they won't do same.
Better pray Nigeria don't disintegrate cause you summation WILL be useless

Just look at this idiot talking with a tone of certainty....

So if southern Nigeria says no, you will get your bows, arrows and horses ready for warbecause this is 1620 A.D

I don’t blame you, I blame your delusional born to rule mentality and the enabling saboteurs from the south that encourages your stupidity.

Nigeria will remain one whether anyone like it or not. Prosperity of all part of Nigeria is in our best interest.

I was happy when president Yar adua began the dredging of the Niger river. I do not understand why President Jonathan stopped it.

As for those saying other water bodies would have access to the sea even if Nigeria breaks up, you are just being ignorant. All the south west need to do is to dam the river Niger from our end and we would be controling the volume of water that gets to your areas. But, that would never happen because Nigeria would never break up.

I AM DONE TALKING
Go and study the COURSE of the Niger River first. wink

I would advise u don't call people "ignorant," on this.

So many idiotas needs to retake geography classes.

I’m not surprised this silly Op is bleating like a pregnant he goat. It further proves that the mindset of the average northerner ( both educated and illiterate) is that violence is the answer.

The idiot is not even sure if the so called treaty is feasible that’s why he’s claiming he would go to war ( and possibly die in it) if the treaty doesn’t favor the north.
What the idiot doesn’t know is that there will be nothing like a privileged north in a divided Nigeria and no one has the monopoly of violence.

You can continue to sound the drums of war that you are not even sure you will live to see the end of it.

Piiggiiiddiiooootts are excited just because somebody (an inconsequential aboooki master) opined that there could be a northern president in 2023.

They don't even care for their own chances. Success for them is Yorubas not getting the presidency in 2023.

The civil war really turned piggiidddiooots to slaves. I don't think they can ever recover. Their mentality has been irreparably damaged.. embarassed

according to UN law about sea an independent state control his land and sea territory 12 nautical miles including internal water ways, subsoil under the sea and air space above the sea

if they now do anything with the sea and water ways they control at your expenses...do you think a war will make you have access...no because even you are there match in war plus they will have UN and other powerful nation support because you are the one breaking their rule with your stupid mentality of war and killings

it's either you get a deal with them to have access to the sea or don't have access at all
