I am not in support of governor Wike's decision to demolish those hotels, in the midst of this pandemic, it has now made the people working in the hotel to lose their jobs, he should have instead turned those places into isolation centres for covid-19 patients. Well, I've been hearing that people are in support of Wike, so please, if you are in support of Wike, drop a comment stating why https://www.nairaland.com/5849399/promise-gogorodari-owner-demolished-prudent

Take a look at the Quarantine law he signed, check the offences and penalties. Once an administration signed a statement into law you have to either obey or protest or relocate. We need to stop allowing sentiment to rule our lives in this country. When things happen let's see what the law says instead of allowing sentiment to dictate what is right or wrong. Is it in the Quarantined order that offenders should have their properties turned to Isolation centers? If no, then you are part of the problem of this country |

Wike is right in all ramifications to have demolished those hotels. Some Nigerians are very sturbon. Simple instructions to stay home, this is what is expected of any serious government, if some citizens in developed world can forfeit their privacy just for protection against terrorism why cant we do what is more simpler STAY HOME are those people patronising olosho's hungry?, some people will say they went to look for food. |

It is a shame Africans are fighting themselves because if a virus that can hardly survive in their climate. This covid-19 is something that will eventually end up as big business for the western world and china. Africa open up your economy and free your people from suffering. Europe, America, China and other parts of the world did not lock down because of Ebola which is more deadly. |

If the lockdown order stated in clear term that any hotel cought disobeying the order would be demolished, then he is right. It's time we Nigerians start taking responsibilities for our actions. We love to bring sentiments to every issue. |

folarr:But states demolish markets all the time. They demolish illegal structures where people lay their heads, for the greater good of the society. Wikes action is a good example of what a strong institution is. Imagine if all our institutions had intergrity, where checks and balances were the guiding principles. |

ITbomb:No one can be a judge in one case. Every offense is subjected to ligation in a competent court of law. Wike is the prosecutor and same the Judge. He should have allowed the court to take decivise decision ,even though he has a good intention of putting an end to Covid 19. |

Gandollar:I understand that its for the greater good of society, but the same also happened in Lagos, but Governor Sanwo-Olu simply locked the hotels up while Wike demolished them |
