The Federal Government has said that Lagos, FCT, Ogun, Kaduna, Sokoto and Kano states have enrolled on the World Health Organisation (WHO) treatment regimen on solidarity drug trials. The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, said this on Monday in Abuja, at the 29th joint national briefing of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19.

Daily Trust reports that the WHO announced that Nigeria expressed interest to be part of the global solidarity drug trial to tackle COVID-19 pandemic and that the process would soon start in the country. The Officer in charge, WHO Nigeria and member of the PTF on COVID-19, Dr. Fiona Braka, told Daily Trust in an exclusive interview in Abuja that what Nigeria signed up for was drug trial and not vaccine trial, as there was yet no vaccine for the COVID-19.

According to her, the four drugs that will be monitored in the solidarity trial are Remdesivir; Chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine; Lopinavir, and Ritonavir. However, Ehanire said at the briefing that the Federal Government is cooperating with the WHO on treatment regimen Solidarity trial with the aforementioned states. He also said that as at Sunday the country has ramped up testing by additional 1,127 to make a total of 27,078 tests, which yielded 4,399 cases in 35 States, with a gender ratio of 70 to 30 percent for men and women.

The minister said 778 persons have been discharged and that the nation sadly recorded 143 deaths, giving a case fatality rate of three percent.

“The new cases breakdown are Lagos 81, Jigawa 35, Bornu 26, Kano 26, Bauchi 20, FCT 13, Edo 12, Sokoto 10, Zamfara seven, Kwara seven, Kebbi four, Gombe two, Taraba two, Ekiti two, Ogun two, Osun and Bayelsa one each.

“Kogi and Cross River states have not reported any cases, but we are optimistic that we can work with the State Health Ministry to validate this in due course, when we engage the state authorities. A team from the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH), made up of experts from various specialties, including NCDC, is on standby to proceed to Calabar (Cross River) as soon as travel arrangements can be made, taking with them, resource to support the health system,” Ehanire said.

If you go about spreading lies, conspiracy theory about W.H.O and Bill Gate vaccines just to trend and sound funky at the detriment of general health of the populace may you never get access to the vaccine, and even if you do may it never benefit your imuinity and body system....AMEN!!

You can't benefit from Polio vaccines, Chicken pox vaccines, Malaria subsidized drugs and still turn around to talk trash about vaccines and sponsors of the research just because you want to justify your pastors 666 claims

Now its no more 5G is corona virus, its vaccine (the only prevention that can make us go back to normal and open our economy back) is 666

PS: If you have any of the scar in the Picture bellow, you had already taken W.H.O vaccination against small pox, tuberculosis or leprosy, and the scar you carry about on your left arm was prolly sponsored by Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation. so if they wanted to turn you to 666 zombie they would had done that a long time ago

Nice development if it’s discovered to be effective(the drugs)then we can finally move on with our lives and pick up what’s left of our 2020 cos isolation and lockdown has not been a very effective approach in combating the spread of the virus or it’s spread despite paralyzing all social and economic activities the world over.

Which one is WHO drug again? I know it will never be the efficacious Madagascar herbal drug because WHO will never approve it. WHO is part of neo- colonialism which still believe that nothing tangible and sensible can come out of Africa

It doesn't add up that africa is being used as testing ground when we are the least hit.

Why am I wasting my breathe, these nairalanders will not understand.

White supremacy at play yet again.

Go and read up on suppressed history, many years ago, white doctors came to South Africa and Congo, under the pretence of giving free vaccines but were injecting AIDS into people.

From the inception of time, the black race has been under attack.

There is no way to put this, the federal govt has taken so much money from these people and these developments is not an option as they HAVE TO SACRIFICE THEIR PEOPLE to not just be used as lab rat but more...

Remember Melinda gates prophecies, it's now they will be enabled to inject people with things that will enforce it to play.

Go and look up the main financiers of WHO, IT'S BILL GATES.
THIS IS NOT WHO TESTING, IT'S BILL GATES TESTING.

they will offer money, but I tell u, anyone who falls for this, it would have been better you donated your orgas peacefully to save a life.

In fact, this is the first time I'm seeing a mass clinical trial study being organised in Nigeria. Just makes you question why.

Big pharmas like Phizer, J&J, AstraZeneca, Merck etc.. have been running trials for years all over the globe (with the exclusion of African countries like Nigeria) making scientific breakthroughs and healing all sorts of diseases. We've never been good enough for thoroughly researched and well developed treatments.

But now all of a sudden, Nigerians are now viable lab rats to be used to test a rushed vaccine for a non-existent virus?

Hilarious!

YOU OWE IT TO THE GENERAL POPULACE TO DIG DEEPER, AND DO SOME USEFUL RESEARCH BEFORE CARELESSLY OPENING YOUR MOUTH!!!

the vaccines u mention have now recently been exposed as not being subject to any quality control checks for the past 32years and all these are happening in the United States of America.

This means that no quality control body supervised the vaccines they have been injecting in babies for the past 32years.

There is a lot you don't know Mister, get busy if you really care

Lives of people are at stake.
Would the patients be forced to volunteer themselves?
Or the drugs would be tried on them without their consent, (unto our normal Nigerian way naa, where the citizens are assumed to be zombies, and the leaders would always make their decisions for them).
Let's not forget that the whole thing is still a trial.
The drugs are not yet confirmed as treatments for COVID-19.
