Amanda heard Miranda's footsteps as she walked down the passage leading to Amanda's home office. She looked up as miranda entered the room eagerly.
Miranda looked like she had run the entire distance to the house. Her hair was tousled and she had a tired appearance
"How did he take the gift?" Amanda asked Impatiently
" Well enough" replied Miranda with a small smile. "Come on, Amanda you didn't really think Tunde would ever refuse such a gift, did you? Is your guest room vacant? I need to sleep"
She started to walk towards the guest room. Amanda stood up and followed
"Well, he has refused such in the past,and I didn't think this year-

"We had sex" Miranda blurted out with a look of apprehension.

Later that night Amanda was woken by the ringing of her phone. It was tunde.

She was silent. Couldn't he have guessed that she was ashamed because of her outburst during their last conversation?
"Amanda are you there?"
"Tunde I said something I shouldn't have said and I realize I may have made you uncomfortable. I just wanted to give you some space. I'm sorry".

She laughed at the irony. Someone usually so smart at discerning her motives and moods when she didn't want it was failing when she needed that talent the most
"Whats funny? Tunde asked
"Nothing, but I heard someone got lucky today." She said

It was a very hot day. The fan tried valiantly to alleviate Tunde's suffering as he sat shirtless in his sitting room watching a show on tv.
He was expecting Amanda along with the ingredients of whatever she wanted him to cook. Tunde shifted on the couch uncomfortably as sweat ran down his chest and the program ran on. There was a knock on the door. Amanda, he thought.
'Enter' he said and stood up
Amanda breezed in carrying a shopping bag. Headed for him and enveloped him with in her arms. 'Hey Thanks for volunteering now come and cook' she breathed into his ear with a weird sort of voice. Soft, almost a whisper. She loosened her hold on him and then handed the bag she carried to him
'Make sure the food is sweet o'
He looked inside and saw the ingredients. Tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise... Jollof rice then. He looked up at Amanda who was watching him with a a smile.
'You know me now...'

Amanda shifted on the couch and took a deep breath of the hot air that was getting hotter as Tunde worked in the kitchen. Nepa had taken the light few minutes after her entrance. She quickly took off her blouse and her jeans and folded them in a bid to ease her suffering. She smiled at the thought of the shock on Tunde's face if he saw her as she was, only wearing her underwear.
She bit her lip as she considered walking up on him and taking her clothes off. No. She didn't have the courage. What about a bit of teasing? Maybe.
Well now was good a time as ever....
She stood up and walked towards the kitchen, trying to bolster her courage with thoughts of ' its only Tunde, I've known him for years!!'

She reached the doorway. She would hear the sound of the gas cooker whoosing and the clutter of plates as Tunde busied himself in there.

She took a deep breath and walked in
