The bold is what I stated is not correct. Finance Bill makes provision for a company whose turnover is less than 25m to be exempted from VAT and payment of income tax. PBT- this is profit before tax. This is different from Turnover or Revenue. Please do not be offended for my non-clarification before now.
I remember this post from last year. Some Pharmaceutical coys will churn out better balance sheet this season.

The 2020 budget favours companies whose PBT is less then #25M.
so what that means is that they will be exempted from CIT (company income tax) in 2020 and probably going forward.

Caveat - Due diligence is expected from you.

So na now u know say some pharmaceutical company's will do well abi?
this is why I say that some of u here are terrible people.

I recall u were among those who personally argued with Sir OGG when he advised investors to buy health sector stocks. some of una even attack the oga here then.
i remember u argued when he recomended neimeth at 38k and may&baker at 1.85 after Sir OGG analysed this same finance bill through and through and clearly mentioned the sectors that are likely to be beneficiaries. now u don dey yarn pafu from d other side of ur mouth. now some of u olukus are beginning to praise the very same stocks he analysed here back then. ill try and search to see if i can dig up the post dem.
I go forever respect and duff my hat for that Oga. see the article he wrote and posted here in 1st week of march, when some of u were shouting doom. https://www.booksie.com/618814-alarm-bell-in-nigeria-between-fear-risk-and-opportunity-
I only had to get confirmation from him via telegram, and I bought all the stock he mentioned there. zenith at 11, gtb 16.80, access 5.4, uba 4.65, mtn 94.1, wapco 9.1, pz 3.95, NB 23.6. only my zenith, gtb& access has returned over 4 million in gain and from wapco, i will collect over 650k as div early next month while price is still well above my entry, all thanks to that oga.
even this health stocks when una don dey praise now, I bought neimeth for 39k & 41k, m&b at 1.85, 1.87 &some for 2.05 and gsk for 3.70. it's only fidson that i know i did not buy then even though sir ogg also recommended it in that article.
apart from few like sir ema, rabbioracle, valueinv, awesomej etc, most of una here na olufa and oluku!!!!!

I wanted to say, let me phone a friend but you gave the 50% answer from my comment already. cheesy

The other half is this: health sector responds to results most of the time and on few instances to special news or cases.
Despite the covid issue in town, there wasn't any response from the sector until May & Baker's result came out this week. This makes it seasonal....... quarterly or fye period.

FIDSON is responding in anticipation of result, not necessarily cos of covid.

Like I said, it's strictly my opinion and I may be wrong.....the first half. grin

The problem is some people find joy in attacking and abusing people for their opinions in the financial market. This is unnecessary. That energy is better spent elsewhere. Nothing is a certainty, everything is a probability.

I think you mixed them up. Everyone is expected to pay VAT it is CIT that they may be exempted from if their income for the year falls into the small enterprise category.
bro you are wrong. They are exempted from VAT but didn't know that CIT is exempted too.Just saw it on the thread

Lol.
Sis, not saying they are not good, just saying they are good for hold, medium to long term.
Not really good for JIJOist except they can accurately timed the time they used to move.

Honestly, there's nothing as good as this if one wants to do well in this market.
Though the market or some stocks defies TA and FA sometimes.

Of course nobody can predict the market with certainty even the chartists till lag in this regard. But one thing you will appreciate learning charts is that entry into the market is not based on hope or herd mentality but strategic, tactical and risk based approach. though at times this can fail but with stop loss active one can quickly cut one's loss and exit.

I will encourage you to try and learn it too.
