For many people, a man & a woman are like goat and yam. Not to be trusted together.

They cannot envisage any genuine friendship. The notion that a lady can be pretty but not romantically attractive to a man is unimaginable.

For that reason I gradually cut off friendships when female friends marry. Even some of the ladies ask if you were in love with them but now angry that they are married. They do not understand. It's to save them trouble. Their husbands may not approve of such friendships.

Another aspect is financial assistance to a married lady. Many hubbies cannot imagine how often their wives seek help from old friends. When you complain that your wife is a drain on your pocket, blah blah blah, often she will stop asking you. Instead go ask understanding friends, usually helpful male buddies from the past. It can be even be an ex when she's financially in a tight corner.

Still, as man careful helping with money. It can be interpreted wrongly. Your good Samaritan act can come to bite you in the "bom-bom".

I have a friend who was unable to have a child 10yrs after marriage I know what she went through the abuse, the insults, the stigma etc
It got so bad she can't play with other peoples children because they call her mami water because she is so beautiful with clean skin.
I can't count how many times she cried on phone, how many times she felt like running away how many times she felt like killing her self....
Its not like she was one loose girl she married her husband as a virgin...
God did it for her last year she named her son after me...
