shame on u if u can't use your sense to discern that if governments pay about one million naira per passenger ( flight tickets+accommodation+feeding) times about 5k returnees ,which is almost 20-50 billion naira,the government will land into financial trouble.

If the federal government was paying their air ticket, do you think they'll be able to afford it? There are many Nigerians abroad who want to come back due to the fact that their visas had expired, but can't return because they are broke. It would have been a very good opportunity for them na.

My issue is, are they being asked to pay for isolation and feeding because they are returnees or is that a criteria for isolation? Does that mean those currently being isolated in Nigeria including the states outside Lagos are paying for their isolation and feeding?

Make they just stay back jare, since they are gonna pay for everything.

those returnees in Lagos are on free accommodation and feeding. .well,it's more economical to return home than stay back...average cost of acomodation per MONTH in western nations is about 300-500k.then DD feeding and other bills

Nigeria government is getting it wrong with dis, we have a lot of federal and state government housing estate that was build that no one is using it. Y can't they use such place for accommodation for free, the returnees will just pay for there feeding fee only

Any hotel that opens its doors to people that might probably have Covid19 at this time has made a huge sacrifice for those people. The price of such service won't be cheap. So our home bound country men and women abroad should try and meet up with it. Besides, FG can make alternative isolation center for those who can't afford the hotel at places like NYSC camps. That way, they pay for food and transport fare only. Other countries do the same or even worse. It surprised me earlier today when Aljazeera reported a Kenyan man who paid hospital bill after being treated of Covid19. The man works as a driver for the isolation center where he was treated; yet he paid the bill. His problem which was the focus of the report was that his neighbours stigmatize against him after he recovered. Covid19 might become an expensive illness with time. It's better to avoid/prevent it.

But does this same cost apply to those here who are in isolation? Are they also paying for their feeding and accomodation? If they are being isolated in any of the isolation centres, does the accomodation fee apply?

Hmmm, NYSC camps, how come nobody thought of this. On a normal day, the camps are even "isolated" in a way, being that they are fenced and gated. So it'll be a good place to be used as isolation centres.

This is a fair deal. Do you expect FG to pay all their flight tickets, accommodation and feeding? let's be realistic. If you decide to return then take care of your bills as long as you weren't sent on official assignment FG owes you nothing!

Then they should test them immediately and give them their results and if they are negative free them and let's them go to their house. Did they ask FG for accommodation and feeding!

The bitter truth is you can't avoid or prevent it especially here in naija...unless u plan u don't want to leave ur house at all till everything is over...
Firstly 80% of Nigerians are not taking safety precautions especially in areas of mask wearing...
Secondly, even if u decide to wear mask to protect ursef, u can't totally practice social distancing + the face mask wldnt protect d virus from entering ur eyes when ur in close contact with an infected person

Breakfast is complimentary in such hotels so you don't need to worry about Lunch and dinner.

A serving of N1800 would get you at least very good food with protein and bottle of water in an Nigerian city.
