Kwara is only located in the north politically. I’m from Ekiti and an entire local government in Kwara State is made up of indigenous Ekiti people. The Olobo of Obo-Ekiti who is now a traditional ruler in Kwara State was a member of the traditional 16 crowns of Ekiti and also a prominent member of the Ekitiparapo army that fought Ibadan in the 18th century.

So, how are the people of Obo-Ekiti Fulanis and descendants of Usman Danfodio?

Ilorin is a city in kwara state and the only one with emir.

In the same kwara state you have other cities, towns, communities such as Offa, Omuaran, Idofian, Ajasse, Igbominas, Ekitis and all these are Yoruba lands.

Bishop Oyedepo is from Omuaran just outside Ilorin.
Kwara state is not Hausa or Fulani state, It is Yoruba state in the North Central.

About 2 local government areas actually.
Oke-Ero and Ekiti LGAs.
You know Otun(Odunlade Adekola's home town )was formally in Kwara State.
They opted to leave,the others had the chance too,but decided to remain in the state.

Kwara is a state and not a Fulani kingdom. That the current emir of Ilorin is Fulani doesn’t mean Kwara is a Fulani State. So many ethnic groups make up Kwara and the population of Fulanis in Kwara is not up to 10% of the entire population of the state. Yoruba’s form the majority of indigenous people of Kwara and that is why all the governors that have ruled the state since 1999 are all Yorubas.

Offa, Igbaja, Oro, Obo-Ekiti, Ajase Ipo etc are all Yoruba towns and are still being administered traditionally by Yoruba monarchs. So, how did all these towns lost their lands to Fulanis?

Not true. Otun was never part of Kwara State. Otun and some other Ekiti towns were ceded to the northern region by the British colonialist. It was Ekiti Pelupelu Obas that led the struggle to return Otun and Obo Ekiti to the west. They succeeded with Otun but the British refused to return Obo and the rest.

The Ekiti towns never opted to be part of the north or Kwara. They were forced into northern Nigeria by the crazy colonialists. Up till today, the people of these towns are still agitating to be returned to their kith and kins in the south west.
