Mizwisdom:Don't be arrogant and at the same time don't mislead people. I replaced Nigeria with Ivory Coast from same website, see what i got and judge for yourself if it's sensible. That website, expatisan is not reliable.
|
| Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by Ximenez(m): 6:53pm On May 17, 2020 |
Coolberry:yes, that website almost gave me heart attack when i was making research on Namibia |
| Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by Mizwisdom(f): 7:00pm On May 17, 2020 |
Ximenez:Do you reason at all? if you have never been to Ivory coast why not wait for people who have lived there and paid rent to argue. There's nobody in his right mind who can compare Nigerian rent to Abhijan. Because they know it is expensive over there. One can still get a place of N50,000 monthly but it won't be in city centre. FYI I have never spoken down about Ivory coast so where did you see the pride? |
| Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by felixzo1(m): 7:03pm On May 17, 2020 |
Mizwisdom:what is responsible for this high rate. does taxes on properties has anything to do with it |
| Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by Ximenez(m): 7:05pm On May 17, 2020 |
Mizwisdom:Be wise, you are still not getting the point. Those figures you quoted, are they from your experience in ivory coast? Can't you see the same website is quoting 300k monthly as rent in Nigeria? Where do you get that kind of rate in Nigeria? Not even in Lekki. That's the point, the problem is with you and the website. In case you are still struggling to grasp this simple point. I'm not interested in comparing the standard of living in Abidjan and Abuja. I'm just telling you the obvious that the figures on that website are inflated. |
| Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by Mizwisdom(f): 7:10pm On May 17, 2020 |
felixzo1:Exactly. Tax is the main problem |
| Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by EMEKUSBOY9(op): 7:20pm On May 17, 2020 |
Coolberry:I would have love too but this just my own memories when i was there... I hope u understand me brother, i dnt want people to turn it into economy forum and bash them self with insult. U know how Nairaland is when comes to thread about countries. Am just being sensitive for this not too turn into something else. all desame, i want to thank u for reading my story. |
| Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by Mizwisdom(f): 7:22pm On May 17, 2020 |
Ximenez:When you get there just tell your Landlord that the monthly rent is inflated that he should divide it by 12. Good luck |
| Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by Ximenez(m): 7:24pm On May 17, 2020 |
felixzo1:When you want to travel, especially if you are a first timer. You need information, money and your 'papers'. The most important of the 3 is the first, so be careful where you get it from. |

| Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by Coolberry: 7:25pm On May 17, 2020 |
Mizwisdom:I understand you but please disregard the information on that website and Numbeo. They estimate bullshit; mostly for expats from advanced countries. You can get 50k apartment in the city. I spoke to agents and citizens. |
| Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by Ximenez(m): 7:26pm On May 17, 2020 |
Mizwisdom:The monthly rent in Abidjan or the monthly rent on the website? |
| Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by Mizwisdom(f): 7:33pm On May 17, 2020 |
Coolberry:No problem, I spoke to someone who said he paid N50K monthly last year for a room but not in city centre. Definitely agents defer. Hope you know that the price for a room is definitely different from three rooms? and it was stated there that the areas quoted some of them are expensive. Nevertheless just hold enough so that your agent doesn't give you a hse you won't like |
| Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by EMEKUSBOY9(op): 7:34pm On May 17, 2020 |
Mizwisdom:My sister, if u study me carefully u will find out i dnt like interfering with people opinion. Please does things u wrote there are not true Have u been too ivory coast before? If the answer is NO! Please dnt misinformed people reading this. Ivory coast has a lot of rules on renting houses and it depend on your house agent and the location also with your own luck When i see tax i just laugh.. Dnt use this big grammar to scare people. Ivory coast is an open place for foreigners, and to me is the best place for foreigners in terms of open arms My advice for people is too just get prepared, but those figures down there does not reflect on what going on in the street of ABIDJAN |

| Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by EMEKUSBOY9(op): 9:03pm On May 17, 2020 |
adubam:I left because i already got what took me there at first But i may return back there... it all depend on the people managing me. And for the driving, yes u can drive with ur car to ivory coast but i believe little documentation and ur driving license will be needed |

.men!! I just came across this thread today and I have managed to read everything from page 1 to 20 without skipping a sentence, I must say it wasn't easy but worth it... has the thread ended or there are more updates coming up? it seems many African countries are already ahead of Nigeria, while we keep being delusional of us being the giant of Africa.. thank you emekusboy9 for these information |
