HELLO GUYS.....

Like as i promise too update today from the continuation of my MISTAKES /FUNNY THINGS i did in ivory coast.

i just need to quickly ship in this mistake story from one my 3 Nigeria friends in ivory coast.

Am saying this to let you people know how ur former environment and the country u lived before can affect ur way reasoning ( mentality)

We all have this mentality that every woman in Nigeria wants money, and this believe got stock into our brains... And despite we moved to another place, environment or country, we are still carrying this MENTALITY that grew with us. undecided

His name is bobby, and came into ivory coast before me. although i had not gone too ivory coast when he met the girl but i was there at the closing hour of their relationship. Am very sure, he never knew this Ivorian girl was an accountant if not he would not have ask her for dating. grin

I remember how this my friend called bobby was telling me how passionate this Ivorian girl loved him and how he started suspecting this kind of love he has never seen.... even in Nigeria, despite the lady was an MTN accountant with good educational qualification and also very pretty. He also told me how this Ivorian girl called him immediately she closed from work for him to join her at her house. He even confessed that the lady was really doing well for her self.

Now lets get too why your mentality sometimes determined how far u go in life and how oppurtuned you will be. Am saying this because i remember how this my friend keep lamenting on how he lost this sweet and good Ivorian lady just because of the way he view all women.

And When he was planing to leave this girl, by then i just came into ivory coast and any time this same girl called him at night too meet at her place.... My guy will start complaining for no reason grin and Bobby's complains goes this way in pidgin

" this girl think say i get money because i be Nigeria guy... She just dey show me love make i for enter trap then from there she go they bill me ooooo " cheesy undecided

Then the remain 2 guys go say " she no know say u be Nigeria guy" ( ignorance is really a disease ) grin

I had no choice than to keep shot because by then i was just knowing them....

That is how he continue to play this girl and not answering her call at night, and this made the girl really fed up with him and everything they say is history . he lament all the time about this mistake. and he tried to visit the girl in her house but he was told this girl has moved to a new house cheesy

Why is this painful..... is that, this girl would have still help him get a job when he has non. This my friend is also a graduate and i know what that girl would have done for him. She may even help him into MTN in ivory coast.

Sorry for this long story about my friend...

Now back to mine, and i will start with the funny things i did over there in " ivory coast "

i remember when i newly came to ivory coast and later moved to the Ivorian family house.

Due to the power ( light) issue in Nigeria and how i was so used with carrying my charger into any where i am going too in Nigeria. it took me some time to realise am not in Nigeria any more because most times before i leave home in ivory coast i put my charger in my pocket and on my way going... i remember there was no need for such grin

Dnt blame me i was only a product of Nigeria..... cool cool

Dnt laugh at me, am not the only victim of this stupidity... My friends are also involved infact they want too quickly go home when they know their phone was about to die, but when they remember the light over there is" 247" they just smiled and calm down. We all start bursting into laughter grin

Oh my father, i remember when i first got there and how i wrote my number with names on it in different pieces of papers and i carry it all over like my card, because i know am very sure of approaching Ivorian ladies
, and the hardest point and very sad moment u will regret as a foreigner is when this sweet Ivorian damsel will say too u in French language " NUMERO"

meaning - (give me YOUR NUMBER)

If an Ivorian girl ask after ur number be sure of a call at night or before u even get home grin

i had lost so many damsel this way because i dnt know numbers in french by then...

So, i decided to be stubborn and think creative about getting the solution this way. I have no choice to duplicate my numbers in so many "hand take" papers grin when they ask and i bring out does pieces of papers... They always smiled for being so creative grin

Atleast have giving some people EXPO, i bet u..... U will not find this in any "relationship books" grin

Again, i remember how i was becoming a prophet, thinking that the light must go off anytime the rain is falling so heavily grin

Dnt blame me! where i came from is normal thing for light too go off when it rain's....

after all, they said we are giant of africa... And if giant light can go off when it rained, what do u expect from other smaller countries to us?

Infact, all my time there that rain fell so heavily.... their light was so stable and strong like the " WALL OF JERICO"

I have no choice than to start thinking differently and my mentality start changing.

Listen people, u dnt find " high tension wires" over there like in Nigeria. All their "light cable and high tension" passes through the ground. (What a county)!

I have to go guys... It will take some little time to update again because i want people reading this too meet up easily and digest it....., I dnt want them to feel they still have like 20 pages to go. That can be discouraging .

So, stay safe and God bless u all for ur time.

I replaced Nigeria with Ivory Coast from same website, see what i got and judge for yourself if it's sensible.

That website, expatisan is not reliable.

Do you reason at all? if you have never been to Ivory coast why not wait for people who have lived there and paid rent to argue. There's nobody in his right mind who can compare Nigerian rent to Abhijan. Because they know it is expensive over there. One can still get a place of N50,000 monthly but it won't be in city centre.
FYI I have never spoken down about Ivory coast so where did you see the pride?

Be wise, you are still not getting the point.

Those figures you quoted, are they from your experience in ivory coast?

Can't you see the same website is quoting 300k monthly as rent in Nigeria? Where do you get that kind of rate in Nigeria? Not even in Lekki.

That's the point, the problem is with you and the website.

In case you are still struggling to grasp this simple point. I'm not interested in comparing the standard of living in Abidjan and Abuja. I'm just telling you the obvious that the figures on that website are inflated.

When you get there just tell your Landlord that the monthly rent is inflated that he should divide it by 12. Good luck

When you want to travel, especially if you are a first timer. You need information, money and your 'papers'. The most important of the 3 is the first, so be careful where you get it from.

I understand you but please disregard the information on that website and Numbeo. They estimate bullshit; mostly for expats from advanced countries.
You can get 50k apartment in the city. I spoke to agents and citizens.

No problem, I spoke to someone who said he paid N50K monthly last year for a room but not in city centre. Definitely agents defer. Hope you know that the price for a room is definitely different from three rooms? and it was stated there that the areas quoted some of them are expensive. Nevertheless just hold enough so that your agent doesn't give you a hse you won't like

My sister, if u study me carefully u will find out i dnt like interfering with people opinion.

Please does things u wrote there are not true

Have u been too ivory coast before?

If the answer is NO! Please dnt misinformed people reading this.

Ivory coast has a lot of rules on renting houses and it depend on your house agent and the location also with your own luck

When i see tax i just laugh.. Dnt use this big grammar to scare people.

Ivory coast is an open place for foreigners, and to me is the best place for foreigners in terms of open arms

My advice for people is too just get prepared, but those figures down there does not reflect on what going on in the street of ABIDJAN

has the thread ended or there are more updates coming up?

it seems many African countries are already ahead of Nigeria, while we keep being delusional of us being the giant of Africa..
