Money really push Davido up there and I must say the guy is really good at spending wisely on media and fans even to the extent of doing philanthropic work publicly (this is method our Politicians used on us here in Nigeria, he is a real son of his father.

In Music today, if the fund is available massively, the work of an artist is cut by 40%, [b][/b]There are many talented artist out there, funds is what is keeping the talent hiding; they can't afford to do music sessions and also lack money for media publicity.

If you buy your songs or not

If you have a velvet tone voice or not

Or if Your lyrics are appealing or not.

Music has gone beyond that.

Talking about buying lyrics. David is not first and won't be the last. Great singers of the world had one time or the other bought lyrics. In fact some don't even write at all they buy. And they are Grammy winners. And they are not looked upon as talentless. Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Lionel Ritchie even our local king of Juju music King Sunny Ade had a lyric writer.
And mind you buying songs doesn't guarantee success. Many bought and the songs did not make it to the charts

95% of lyrics sellers worldwide don't add tunes and rhythms to their lyrics. They just write the lyrics like poems and sell. Its now left to the buyers to find his way around the written words to give it a tune and rythm and that is where the real work is. And Davido is a master in that regard.

About his voice that some call frog voice. It's because people are not enlightened enough or they say it out of jealousy. Every Artist has a unique voice. It is left to you to get to know how to use your voice to produce good music. Take for instance many great American Stars with croakier voices than Davido's.

Kids of today should go and watch the video of the song We Are The World. There, you will get to appreciate the beauty of uniqueness in voices. You will know that all of the stars in the the making of that song have different voices and there were some with Davido's type of voice there. Some have croakier voices than him.
