He said will tell the person, look at me now, I'm almost 70years old and don't have anything in U.S. and don't have anything in Nigeria. I only being to nigeria once in 40years when i lost my mother.
He said he cannot retire from work and that he will have to die working. Believe me, it happens.

Wow! It seems you have it good yourself even before you migrated back in 2010. Well, people's opinions are formed from the sum of their life experience, and if they haven't experienced much themselves, they rely on what they were told.

My uncle migrated in the 90's, he's having it good. Though it wasn't always so, likewise my cousin and her husband, and another uncle in the early 2000s.

3/4 are doctors, 1 is a computer scientist.

What made it so bad for your friends that they even regret going there in the first place? Lack of opportunities for immigrants in their chosen profession or poor decisions - no offence?

Frankly buying two oversized lots that I have now will cost N7.5M. This will come as a shocker but not many Americans have $20K lying around to buy land. And that’s in the outskirts of Ibadan. Some think that they have to live in Lekki so how much are Lekki houses? N80M? Not many Americans have $200K in cash. And Nigeria is a cash society. Living here now for over a year has made me respect a lot of Nigerians building houses, going on vacations with family, importing vehicles which are all cash based.

Anyways, what you posted is absolutely correct. Some will die in the USA, get cremated and that is the end.

Thanks you my brother. This is what this young generation doesn't know and they call you enemy of progress if you try to discourage them from migrating to foreign countries. I know about I0 Nigerians that passed in the past few years and they practically die poor including a professor. The professor took a reverse mortgage on his house which means he only worked all his life for shelter and food. What a life? Another one passed away towards the end of last year and the family was collecting donations for his burial.
Most Nigerians in U.S will die poor because the system is rigged against the black people.

How are you? You sound like an intelligent person that seeks knowledge and wisdom. like you righly said, i had it good in U.S. because i never worked in U.S. throughout my stay. I started my business while i was a second year student, and was lucky to have met my wife who worked very hard with me while both of us were in the university. America is a great country, but most Nigerians couldn't see or understand the system that were laid down by the founding fathers. It usually takes about 20years plus before a Nigerian begging to understand structures of that country and by that time it usually too late. This what happened to a lot my colleagues. In America as a black person you never going get rich you might be comfortable because the system is not designed for you to be rich. They usually findout when they are in their 50s or early 60s that America is not a joke except those that have foresight like me. I discovered very early about 2years when i got to America that the place is not meant black person and i started planning for my exits which took almost 30years. America will make you feel you're on top of the world, nice house with 30years mortgage, nice cars with 3 to 5years payment. Nobody owns anything in U.S. Banks owned it all. In about 15years ago, i knew 3 of my colleagues that are millionaires by American standards, today they are broke and 2 of them had strokes and being assisted by their town's people. These people don't have anything in U.S. and don't have anything in Nigeria either. And that's how most Nigerians in U.S. will end up because 80%of people live pay check to pay check. You can Google this. The Nigerians that will survive this are the ones that plan for their retirement in Nigeria like i did. The moral of the story is if you're doing fine financially in Nigeria stay put. Because success in America is temporary and most people discover this towards the end of their life. You have to be in your late 60s or early 70s to relate to this.So your uncle and cousin are new to the system and will soon find out as time goes on.
