He has CONVINCINGLY qualified us once for the WC. So nothing new there after spending an additional 2 years or so. Your bar low well well. 6 years to win AFCON only?

ChrisKels:

Failure to deliver a gold at the AFCON, and convincingly qualifying for the world cup, should warrant a boot, he's been here for too long

I wonder what Yobo is capable of learning under Rohr? I think 6 years is enough for Rohr to prove himself beyond doubt. By then he would have quality players that have also played together for quite a while. If he does well, I don't mind him staying. I'm not even raising the bar too high. Just do better than any coach has done, because he has been given the most support. Give us at LEAST a QF appearance.

Rohr himself might want a change of scenery especially if he does well.

oh yes. And that's his choice as well.

E no low oo, my conditions to keep his are two.

1 - AFCON gold

2 - Convincingly qualifying for the WC

He must meet up with those two, not one out of the two

NFF agrees new deal with Rohr. Official.

Pinnick nailed it in his statement in a diplomatic and political way to tell the Sports ministry and Nigerians that he doesn't want Harry Redknapp. Sunday Dare has no option but to acknowledge this

And what if he bows out again in the first round of the WC? that would be lower than Keshi and Westerhof's achievement after spending over 6 years? that bar low abeg

Yeah, but the most important thing is Rohr will be here for the next Two and half years. The deal is sealed. The NFF have obviously accepted some or few of Rohr's modifications to the contract which he sent to them few weeks ago (kinda between several days and short of a few weeks) and signed.

Honestly, this is best for our football at this time. Rohr should finish what he has started. The Next Afcon and the WC are, most likely, his final chances to stamp his legacy on our football.

Chai. Gernot Rohr really deal with us that year with his plethora of excuses and "mind games". Before every game Baba must first hype our opponents and warn us to reduce our expectations grin. At a point we started to believe that the "my team is young" talk na just a ploy to get our opponents off guard, we no know say Baba really mean am.

I remember after our disastrous friendly match with England when people believed Rohr was "playing mind games" and "hiding his real WC tactics". grin.... well we went to the WC and the rest they say is history.

The truth is Rohr inherited a team in shambles and had to build a team virtually from scratch with young inexperienced (some say average grin) players. I honestly believe Rohr has over performed with the caliber of players available for him. Sometimes out of patriotic sentiment we tend to overrate our players, but if we take a hard unbiased look at the team Rohr has had at his disposal and the results he has achieved with them, we would respect the tactical genius of the diminutive German wizard.

Gernot Rohr's football may not be pretty, but he sure gets his results. The NFF has made the perfect choice, we can only go up from here.

Very true.. I got fooled until after the first game at the WC.

But I disagree that he built the team from scratch. I won't give him any credits besides his man management and getting some good players to switch.

at this point, even suwe coach can qualify Nigeria for the World Cup, we have been at every World Cup since 2010, it is not a novel situation anymore.

We want a Quarter-finals berth at the World Cup, anything less, is low expectations, especially with the team Rohr has at his fingertips.

Lol. He beat Algeria and the Afcon defending champs Cameroun in WC qualification, don't you think that's something worth lauding?

And at the WC, remember we were only less than 8 minutes away from qualifying from a group that had CROATIA (eventual finalists) as well as the Messi-led Argentina. It definitely took more than man management and "getting players to switch" to achieve this.

Arsenal has 55milla ready for Osimhen... They wana snatch the deal. Meaning he's inching close to Napoli as reported earlier.

If this happens, Auba has a replacement he will play with till he leaves.

so you mean 10 years from now those are the records we are going to be talking about?

If Rohr did his homework well we would have beaten Argentina. He didn't.

In his playing days, they put not one man on him, not two, not three... because they knew what he was capable of regardless of what he did eventually. When players over the world give you that kind of respect it says a lot. this is why I respect this guy despite he didn't achieve a lot in the game. Even the greats recognize his talents.
