at this point, even suwe coach can qualify Nigeria for the World Cup, we have been at every World Cup since 2010, it is not a novel situation anymore.

We want a Quarter-finals berth at the World Cup, anything less, is low expectations, especially with the team Rohr has at his fingertips.

At your first paragraph, key word "convincingly"

At the second paragraph, you getting ahead of time.

If he fails to deliver AFCON gold and (not "or"wink convincingly qualify for the world cup, he should be sacked while another coach be appointed to take us to the world cup

He has previously qualified convincingly for the World Cup, so evenn that your key word should not be part of the conversation at all.

That's like saying someone who has passed WAEC convincingly, needs to pass WAEC again convincingly.

Na World Cup concern me sha, every other thing has been done by Nigeria, but that World Cup Q/final position. We should be breaking new ground at this point, not looking to continue in a circle.

There would be inner urges to make you speak back RASH,
But the plot is to make you CRASH.

You are really appreciated Safarigirl

4 years AFCON will be better. It will help to give it more excitement, marketability and sponsorship.

Exactly.. and it will also give the host country enough time to prepare well..

Since 2010, no AFCON host country has retained their hosting right at the stated time... Always changing and changing...

They say he is too defensive and doesn't play like Brazil. I just saw the highlight of our game against Croatia at the world cup and I was surprised to count 10 Croatian players in the box while we were attacking.

Bate Borisov of Belarus lifted the Belarusian cup in a stadium filled with 5,000 fans. That's a country that has recorded over 30,000 cases.

Every hosting countries has more than four years to prepare, Maybe you should check those countries awarded hosting right, you'll see that each countries has enough time to prepare.

Our problem is infrastructure, if africa can invest heavily on infrastructure maybe we will be good to go till then i dont think hosting AFCON every four years is ideal.

I decided to ignore this one, because you dissed many of us in diaspora. I chose not to correct you because one day you will not only travel for a visit but after you spend years abroad your perspective will definitely change. trust me.. bookmark this post.

@ your first paragraph: I make bold to say that in the whole of sub Sahara Africa, aside south Africa there are very few countries in that can boost of the standard facilities required to host a major sport event .. And a lot of them don't start preparing until the tournament draws near...
Why do u think Cameroon were stripped of their 2019 hosting right??

@ 2nd paragraph...money is another problem.. many African countries are broke...some of the rely on foreign aid to survive.. hosting a tournament like the AFCON itself would cost them a lot... Zambia were due to host last year's u-23 AFCON championship but they declined due to lack of funds!.. and the tournament needed just 2 or 3 stadiums!

IMO,4 years is very ideal for the tournament... The CHAN can be held every 2 years....

But you conveniently forgot that few months before then he was also a golden boot winner in an age grade tournament

Victor Osimhen won the Golden Boot and Silver Ball awards in the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile on the other hand Dominic Solanke Golden Ball winner in the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017.

There is a gap of two years not months as you have claimed and one tournament is for U20 and the other is U17. You should really know that .

My opinion remains the same AT THAT TIME. Nonetheless, for me youth football particularly at U17 is at best indicative not conclusive with a very long way to go, U20 football is much more affirmative as most p[layers at this stage should already be playing first team football. Indeed within that England U20 squad the vast majority are progressing. You will not find the same % of progression with the U17 squad.

However, in the context of Nigeria we seem to have unanswered questions we have had consistent almost continuous progress at U17 level but not at U20, Why i really cant explain.

Unfortunately, opportunity for black coaches in Europe is very limited .

Seyi Olifinjana has been coaching youth football at Wolves for about 5 years but there has been no progression beyond that.
