IceColdVeins:
Medicalnewstoday.com defined sleep paralysis as a feeling of being unable to move, either at the onset of sleep or upon awakening. The individual's senses and awareness are intact, but they may feel as if there is pressure on them, or as if they are choking. It may be accompanied by hallucinations and intense fear.

In Icecoldvein's opinion, sleep paralysis has a plethora of arguments surrounding it. Researchers uphold various scientific hypothesis that represent sleep paralysis as a biological phenomenal, some even insisted that it only happens when your brain wakes up a few seconds before the peripheral nervous complex (the neurons in your body parts), which in turn triggers slow responses to the brain's information by body parts. On the other hand, Spiritualists maintained the notion that sleep paralysis is designed by demons and can only be remedied spiritually.

I used to have sleep paralysis a lot until it stopped, when I embraced some spiritual antidotes.

Below is still the scariest sleep paralysis experience that I ever had......

I heard my ex's voice yell a threat at me, I was scared and tried to get up, realised I was six fts below ground level with a shiny grave moulded untop of me. And suddenly, the skies changed from it's astonishing high resolution filters to the dreadful black and white effect, as it coughed a heavy thunder down my grave....My mummied body immediately knew it was in for it......I tried fleeing from the horrifying dream, never knew a worse comeuppance awaited me. I was thrown into a solid 40 seconds of sleep paralysis.... before I opened my eyes, hissed and mumbled 'Una papa. I don wake up'

Dear NL,
What are your experiences and beliefs about sleep paralysis ? Your inputs may put some people experiencing it at ease.

Kindly share!!

This una story here nor be sleep paralysis..some of y'all need to pray grin grin. In sleep paralysis,u are suppose to be awake but without control of your body simple..all this I went to hell,I went to heaven,I was been chased..dese are dreams

This had happened to me like two to three times about four years ago. Though I didn't see it as a big deal and didn't tell any body about it. Whenever this happens ,it was always in the afternoon when I'm about to wake up from a short nap, I always thought it was due to stress, I would have woken up and tried to get up but would just get some unexplainable weakness for few seconds before the strength to get up could come
Apart from this, I used to experience something for almost 1 year and few months whenever I sleep alone. The first time this happened, I just returned from night class and slept off, then I partially woke up to feeling something on my body trying to hold me, I fought it off and shouted Jesus until I get up and opened my eyes fully. I used to get some bruises due to hitting my hands on the walls. But I thank God with the help of prayer, I'm able to overcome this

If you're experiencing this my advice would be to practice good sleep hygiene. I slept only for four hours per day and I'm sure that was contributory. Now i know how to add short naps etc

If u smoke or take alcohol, i would avoid those. Anything that messes up your head or sleep should be thrown out

I would also consider a healthy diet with lots of fruits and regular exercise. Basically, be healthy.

If it happens anyway, try to anchor yourself. Your mind is awake so just find a way to distract it whilst you wait for your body to catch up.

Although bad dreams are a common theme in sleep paralysis, that's likely related to poor sleep hygiene. It's not because of village people. If you allow that to poison your mind you'll not be able to overcome the fear. And it is the fear that poisons you. Remember that it's just a problem of syncing between your body and mind. You're not dying and you'll wake up.

Counting was an effective distraction for me. Perhaps something else will work for you.

Goodluck

I recall my dad telling my mom how an evil spirit held him in the bed and couldn’t let him move. The prayer that night wasn’t a funny one. Deep down I knew he only had sleep paralysis.
Well about mine. I saw a Jesus like figure talking to me and telling me to repent, out of fear I tried moving from my bed but this unknown force held me down for some seconds. When I was finally able to move i noticed I had tears in my eyes. This happened even before I knew of the term sleep paralysis. I always told my friends I saw Jesus back then. If it was sleep paralysis or Jesus I can’t even tell

Yours is a special case. Have you repented?

The astral body is likely detaching from the physical body into the astral plane..
On the other hand, you are returning with force to your physical body.

That reminds me, I read a lot about astral travel and lucid dreams. I actually experienced them before I read about them. Very wonderful experience

The myth about sleep paralysis.
Re: Share Your Sleep Paralysis Experience Here. by SeriouslySense(m): 10:42pm On May 31, 2020
I think Sleep paralysis is connected to the brain, and how we perceive the environment, I don't really understand Sleep paralysis per se, but I remember i had some sleep paralysis when I sleep in a new place, and it occurs when I am waking up, I felt, huge pressure on my body, I could not move or speak, but I mastered how to get over it, by initiating movements at the tips of my legs, it seemed to send a signal to the brain that I needed the full control of my nervous system and body.

I think it has to do with the consciousness and nervous system, also when you dream of falling or been frightened or you seem to be losing your body, maybe been drained away from the body, this process may be the misplaced simulations of the consciousness or the advanced brain biology, which causes sleep paralysis.

Its actually a physiologic phenomenon
There are two types of sleep and four stages of sleep.
In one of the stages, you're to experience this sleep paralysis, its not witch.

Well,I experienced this same scenerio last week and I think it goes beyond science. I slept in my sitting roomn and saw a ghost pulling my hands.I shouted Jesus,Jesus, and immediately the ghost left and i woke up around 2 a.m with my windows wide open. These are my observations

1. This stuff normally happens in the middle of the night
2. It happens often when I am sleeping beside windows that are not closed
3. Anytime I remember to close the windows it will never happen
3. During this experience, shouting of Jesus normally makes me to become conscious very fast
4. There are days I may not be able to call the name Jesus and the “demon"or whatever it is will continue to press me until I finally regain my strength ( which is after much struggle)

Whatever it may be,it is not funny and can lead to something else......I PRAY GOD SHOULD ALWAYS GUIDE THROUGH EVERY NIGHT REST AND PROTECT IUR SOULS FROM ANY ATTACK,IF THERE IS ANY.AMEN.

No doubt.. wonderful, but scary at first.
You know what if feels like for the soul to feel it self consciously in its home, it's an exhilarating experience especially when one is flying and passing through rocks..

You can get over sleep paralysis, by understanding that it's connected to your feelings and you can control your feelings, I was able to control my Sleep paralysis by controlling how I felt, since I had confidence, that I can control it, by focusing at the tips of my legs, which initiated movements, and sent the signal that i need full control of my body or nervous system, this process also had a calm effect, because I was not scared or confused.

I've had 2 paralysis in the last 24hours sef, someone like me is a regular customer and I just try to get used to it sha,I snap out of mine pretty quickly though, unless its it's a suitable condition.learnt if you experience it often your brain will develop a sought of defense mechanism and sometimes you might not even remember it happen.
But I do enjoy mine most of the time though.

A while back, when I used to experience sleep paralysis on a regular basis, I noticed a pattern. I only experience sleep paralysis whenever I sleep on my back(with my chest facing the ceiling).
And since then, I stopped facing the ceiling whenever I sleep and I've not experienced sleep paralysis ever since.

But tbh...
It was scary, very scary.

Imagine not being able to move any part of your body apart from your eyes.
Worse part is...you can't even trust your eyes since you'll be seeing things that are not real.
And that feeling that something is watching you and is drawing alarmingly closer yet you can't shout out, defend yourself or run away...

It's definitely not something I ever want to experience again.

I use to experience it before when I was using one strong pillow like that, this pillow when placed badly would block the blood flow from my neck to my brain, so ī was getting less oxygen to the brain, I guess that's what causes the hallucinations. This shīt is scary especially for religious folks that would think it's a spiritual attack.

Sleeping on your back when you are extremely tired leads too sleep paralysis. Sleep on your side and place a pillow between ur legs you can never experience it.
Re: Share Your Sleep Paralysis Experience Here. by Chinedu1994(m): 10:50pm On May 31, 2020
This shiit only happens to me whenever I sleep with my belly facing up.
If I sleep in any other position it never happens.
I now dread sleeping with my belly facing up.
The one that happened last month sent chills through me.
I was sleeping and wanted to wake up, I tried moving my legs, for wia, I tried moving my hands, for wia.
Then I forcefully shook my head and opened my eyes.
Immediately I opened my eyes I saw a very ugly and scary creature staring at me this lasted for about 2 seconds.
With goosebumps all over my body, I knelt down and just murmured "it will not work".
I am not a fanatic o; I am a freethinker.
But most of the times, calling Jesus while struggling to wake up helps.

I used to suffer from this. At a time, It came in fits and starts. It feels like a lucid dream and it's scary as hell coz I usually feel there's a shadow standing over me ready to whack me. But I rarely experience sleep paralysis now, haven't had one in months.
