There was a mixed reaction among Ondo state residents yesterday after a 26 year old non indigene of the state was given an appointment as the Special Assistant on Gender, Research and Documentation by the state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akerodolu. While some think an indigene would have been well suited for the position, others however don't see anything wrong with the appointment. Having done a little research about her, I present to you some of my findings with her recent and current pictures

The pretty lady known as Ngozi Ugochi-Igbo, is from a community known as Emeabiam in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state. She is a graduate of the University of Benin and studied aquaculture. She graduated from the university in 2017 according to her profile on Facebook.

She is said to have a close-tie with the Governor’s wife, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, who is also from Imo state. 

The Governor’s wife who confirmed the appointment on her Twitter handle said:

At this point, I must admit that some Yoruba leaders are dull and ignorant. This is why I admire Northerners, you won't even attempt to go near their political offices as non-indigene.

It's just a pity.

Ondo state is my state and I know a few indigenes who have gone to see the governor in times past to seek for some employment or appointment for their children who even have Masters degree with no success.

Stop crying egbon, no be One Nigeria we dey again? did anyone force Akeredolu to come to the East and pay bride price for his Igbo wife? why are you angry at the entire Igbo nation for matter wey no even concern us...? if you're aggrieved with the appointment of the Igbo SA, then match to the government house and voice your dissensions. Stop projecting your insecurities on millions of Igbos that don't even care about Ondo state and its politics

Are you saying that there aren't capable hands in Ondo state?

Even other countries will never give you work visa to come and do the job that citizens can do.

Why is she being employed when there are dozens of citizens and residents who are even more capable?

How many Yoruba or Hausa has any of the 5 eastern governors appointed as SA?
