This happened in Offa, Kwara State, now it's happening in kogi State.
The same style, the same killings, the same techniques.

I advise the police to make intelligence enquiry from those Offa bank robbers they arrested, they should also ask one or two questions from their allegedly godfather, ex Senate president, maybe he knows those Kogi dare devil robbers

Yesterday, 5th June 2020 was a black Thursday in Isanlu, the Headquarter of Yagba East local government area of Kogi state as Masked Armed Robbers numbering about 8 in total invaded the community to rob the First Bank in the town.

The robbers first went to the police station in Isanlu where they shot and Killed the Divisional Police officer (DPO) and seven other police officers on duty at the station. They also shot two inmates who were in the cell at the station and another civilian making it a total of 11 people killed in the robbery attack.

Among the officers killed was PC Aminat Yusuf who is just 21 years of age and just passed out from Police training school about a month ago.

May God in his infinite mercies console families of the eleven victims. Others killed were Officer Charity, Oluwaseyi Ojo, Officer Friday and Orobo. Kombu Margret of Kwande LGA was shot leg but she survived it.

The attack began around 4:30pm yesterday evening and lasted for over one hour. The robbers were able to escape because most of the police and Soldiers had been deployed to nearby Kabba were the state governor had ordered a total lockdown.

THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD ALLOW STATE POLICE TO ADD STRENGTH TO THE WORK OF THE FEDERAL POLICE.

The current federal police are over stretched, grossly inadequate and they also lack intelligence to tackle dastardly acts of robbers.

8 men sack a station! Station looking like a shithole!! It is really sad but this is what you get when we celebrate roads and bridges in the midst of failing institutions. Well, let’s celebrate, ignore the killings in Kaduna, Plateau, Katsina, Edo, Kogi... at least we have the 2nd Niger bridge and railway lines to save us.

The spate of crimes in Nigeria is a symptom not the cause. A symptom of a system that is rotten to its core. A system that had failed many and will fail many more. A system where the rich keeps looting the poor and the poor the loot and kill each other.

I think it's high time the police department or govt should understand that the would is changing or evolving so therefore they should know that the police station structure or building should change. Build a well befitting, a well structured police station. U Wonder whether this people don't realize that this current structure is of the 90s.

If there was a proper security in place like when you enter CCTV watching, entrance has a transparent security door or Glass, not when you enter you bump into a canter with police looking .

Only one or two policemen is armed and station as guards other guns are locked away in d armoury with d key in custody of d designated amourer who might b far way in a bar parlour or ogogoro joint.

Even if it's the rogue Fulani or
Boko Haram, they really did a good job on Intel gathering to enable them operate for over an hour

Africa needs to evolve am sure in south africa robbers will not just bump into their police station and start shoting without them been at alert not to talk of dem developed nation in the world.

What a country this is the worst govt ever.

When countries are managing their scarce resources_twice or more shown on news where different varsities have created devices to help fight the virus instead our president or PTF or other govt agencies will prefer to invite Chinese doctors and neglect our own, go for foreign loans, rather then invest internally to generate revenue rapidly. Imagine if this country been the first to develop the cure, imagine billions. Africa need new generational leaders.

It's a two way thing either the robber went to clear their name from those inmates so they won't spill and also cleared the officers or they went there for the ammunitions.or even amen ng the robbers is a police officer that is a bastard hardcore bloodsucker who gave inside intel

They just killed themselves, I am 1000% sure they'll be caught within a month, all 32persons involved in the offa robbery were caught and half of them have died In prison.

we need to restructure the police for effective policing. They can't even protect themselves. The armed robbers had superior firepower, it's obvious. But how can everyone be killed without them killing one of the robbers? No resistance? At 4pm and not in the night, but they were taken unaware.

When majority of them will be at road blocks collecting 50naira and going to eat pepper soup and drink beer with the proceeds. How on earth will they be able to counter the robbers? Also, imagine a robbery taking place for about an hour and no back came till they left. This country is messed up.

Bros.It is not exactly Truth, Police are civil organization, the first thing that should come on your mind about police is not gun and fire, but IGP in his wisdom should send three mobile police to guard police station, I can bet with anything that no arm robber can attack SARS office or mobile police base, Police is not military, you can see ten police men on duty is only one that would be with gun.

The initial report has it that a grenade was thrown into the police station and not shooting. That's why the casualty was so high.
