Obaseki’s Disqualification: APC Will Suffer Dire Consequences, Says Odigie-oyegun

A former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has said the party will suffer “dire consequences” in Edo State on account of the disqualification of Governor Godwin Obaseki by the APC screening panel.

Odigie-Oyegun described the outcome of the screening as a hatchet job aimed at installing a stooge that will allow some people unfettered access to the Edo Treasury.

This was contained in a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Chief Ray Morphy, in Abuja, on Friday.

The statement read in part, “While not a surprise, that disqualification is a clear indication that internal democracy has been murdered in APC, a party which we founded on the principles of fair play and good conscience!

“I daresay that APC will suffer dire consequences in Edo state if this disqualification is not speedily reversed.

“As a matter of fact, Oshiomhole is indeed the one who is guilty of anti-party (activities), not Obaseki. Oshiomhole is the one who is acting unconstitutionally not Obaseki. I hope that Oshiomhole will not go down in history as the undertaker of APC.”

I disagree Mr Oyegun

Edo is APC state.

The problem was that Obaseki went late to see the godfather of yoruba politics (Tinubu) knowing fully well his state is a Yoruba state and the people has APC at heart.

To me the visit should have been more earlier. I think his actions got Tinubu angry. A stitch in time saves nine

Oshiomhole tried this nonsense with Rochas pre 2019 election. He refused Rochas in-law from becoming the Party's flag bearer. Rochas, legit handed over the state to PDP and move to Senate house.
Tyrant Buhari intervened by using Supreme Court to bring Hope back.

Obaseki shouldn't go the way of Ambode. We make war to live in peace.

Obaseki wants to rub shoulders with Oshiomole cheesy I fear who no fear that man

Ize iyanmu had problem with Oshobaba, he ran to PDP and lost to Osho's candidate. .

Obaseki now has problem with Oshobaba and has quickly jumped to PDP (confirmed sources) .
No doubt, he will suffer what Iyanmu suffered.

Never bite the finger that fed you. Because Wike escaped Amaechi doesn't mean Atiku could escape Obasanjo since 2003 o cheesy

If Obaseki's credentials are truly genuine, why not go to court and reverse things for himself?
On the other hand, if he knows he's contesting with a forged credentials and he went ahead to fight oshomole that knows him in and out, then thank God for getting a liar out of the Edo guber race

If you're wondering why the trio of Oshiomhole, Tinubu and Buhari are the most hated politicians East of the Niger, this is just one of the reasons. From sacking their 'son' GEJ from office, to fücking all their favourite politicians - Atiku, Dino and Saraki hardcore, rubbishing the aspirations of whichever politician they show any glimpse of sympathy for - Ambode, Adeleke, Fayose.....now Obaseki don join the list, haba! This is too much. Even if na me I will hate these irrepressible trio grin

APC didn't win an election into Edo state, They got a kangaroo Court ruling to install Oshiomole. PDP was ruling through Oserienme Osunbo.

Sure...obaseki goofed by challenging osho that is upper in the food chain than him, i was among those that supported his braveness because am tired of godfathers politics bt i think he is screwd for now and he too knows abt it...i think he decamp to PDP and start attacking APC and thier loopsided politics because he once used the same qualifications to win and did his first term...if PDP agrees and he run for them, going by the result of his last polls against PDP i think PDP stand a upper chance in winning and osho may be left to face the disgrace bt it wont be easy knowing that osho is more powerful than obaseki, buhari would also influence the results to keep edo as an APC state and lastly PDP senior colleagues are best known for online supports with tweets after osho and buhari go don rig madness comot from the polls...obaseki should jus run to GOD because it seems its going the ambode way...dts if u politicians do believe in GOD with ur dead conscience...

Which Oshiomole do we have today? The same guy who brought Obaseki to Edo State with the so-called screening process and vetting done. Today and like many occasions, these group of politicians have been counting on the docile citizens to believe whatever reason they conjure for continued ridicule of integrity in Nigerian politics and leadership. Majority of these politicians do not have much to contribute to move the people/country forward but are there for their own selfish interest to embezzle public funds and enrich themselves. This is why in a course of a day Oshiomole and his likes can be on both sides of a issue or switch party affiliation and placate their gullible constituents with laughable reasons. For most in Edo State and Nigeria, for our lives to be better than our parents; we have to make a conscious decision to break from the norm; take a chance and seek out new or young progressives to bring in new ideas to move this country/people forward. Those who can create opportunity for 21st century business, jobs and opportunities. Those who show evidence of big business coming to town but not sinking boreholes as achiement. Take a stance against politicians who continue to put themselves above the people and Attempt to muzzle and disefranchise the people. If you are below age 40 there is increasing probability that this group (have a questionable financially secured future/family unit ) and will bear the brunt of the disillusioned and greedy present day politicians. We need young politicians to disrupt the status quo and give the mandate back to the people. Vote and guard your vote . We need these greedy old and corrupt guys/Oshiomole and co out of the way and allow other young leaders to shape our political parties and country with integrity. We need to look at effect of young leaderships around the world and you can’t refute the impact. It is inevitable and very clear that the present day Personalities in APC and PDP pose an existential threat to our country and we must in solidarity stand up and take back the future of Edo state and Nigeria, otherwise we are doomed.

Even the blind can see Obaseki will be deprived of the ticket, if he's sure of himself and the work he did in the state, he should go elsewhere and fight APC as a man.

From the day he started going against his elsewhile boss, he should expect two things will happen: either he wins the party's leadership mantle or loses. Now that the latter is the case, he should fight from another angle.

Not true. Nothing would happen. Governor Obaseki dug his own pit by sidelining state party leaders.

Now there is one is fighting for him.

If he was a popular governor, by now there'd be riots in Edo State. Ex Governor Oyegun need to advise him to keep quiet and silently work for the opposition.
